Call to Order 8:02 PM Past Events • Lexie Avery spoke at our last meeting about careers in nonprofits. You can find her presentation at the link in the email Upcoming Events • Service Auction o Collaboration with UNICEF o Wednesday, March 28th o 8 PM o Lecture Hall 10 o Volunteer services (teach something, do laundry, clean, etc.) – link in email o People will bid on the service – will have a starting bid o Service goes to higher bidder • Relay for Life o Friday, April 28th o 5 PM – 5 AM o Binghamton University Events Center • Ask Allen from Kiwanis any questions regarding life after Circle K! • Autism Speaks o Will bring in local disability population to go to a carnival o General consensus - host a table? Yes! o April 21st at 1 PM

• Guest Speaker – Thirst Project o Water borne illness kill more people than malaria, AIDS, and violence o Water crisis is not just drinking dirty water, it’s the impact of not having clean water. o Why not just boil/filter water? Not all these resources are available. o Guinea worm-parasitic, microscopic worm that cannot be seen and will cause debilitating problems. o One well can make a difference! Costs $12,000 o Go to communities and build fresh water wells. Disease drop up to 88% overnight, and child mortality rate drop up to 90% overnight o Thirst Project does not take money from donations! Only money from merchandise is used to make more merchandise. o Over 9 years, they have raised $8.8 million, worked in 13 countries, and served over 330,000 people o Text THIRST to 97779 to win a $5,000 scholarship Meeting Adjourned 8:55 PM
