Service Project: Christina b. Day of Service/Regional Training i. Saturday, April 16th ii. Syracuse iii. Courtney and Melissa- We went to the zoo and helped clean up the grounds iv. John- I was stationed at the community garden which was based at an apartment community. We helped start the garden by cleaning, weeding, and leveling out the ground. The goal is to plant fruits and veggies to donate to help with childhood obesity v. Another group went to a nursing home vi. Training sessions for your position in the club were also attended c. Tabling for Open House i. Sunday, April 17th ii. Trying to get the word out to incoming freshman during open houses iii. We will be tabling this fall at university fest to get new members d. End of the Year Social i. Sunday, April 17th ii. Tim- We had raffles, ice cream, watched a fun video, and a good time to reflect on the year iii. Congrats to everyone that received an award! 3. New Business a. JC Parent Cafes i. 5/10 at Johnson City High School b. Relay for Life
i. Join our team! ii. Friday, April 29th from 5pm-5am iii. We will be doing a booth and tabling at it for the entire event. There will be a sign up sheet coming out soon! iv. If you have not already registered the price is now $20 to participate v. At relay if you would like to honor someone you know who has been affected by cancer email John and picture and their name and they will be honored in a slideshow during the event c. Food Recovery Runs i. CIW ii. Wednesdays around 5:30pm d. Out of Darkness Walk i. Sunday, May 1st from 10am-1pm ii. Hinman College Quad iii. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention e. Our Space at Rec Park i. Playground for individuals with Special Needs ii. Saturday April 22nd or Sunday April 23rd iii. Shifts: 8am, 12:20pm, 5pm iv. Planning on going this Saturday for the 12:30 session email Courtney if you are interested f. Collections i. The supply drive was a huge success thank you for everyone that donated! ii. Keep Brining water bottles, box tops, and can tabs g. Rescue Mission i. This Sunday at 2pm the Rescue Mission to make hygiene kits and will be handing these kits out on Tuesday at the community meal.
