I) Call to order at 7:03 PM II) Opening Business A. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter @BingCircleK B. Add us on B-Engaged i. Having more members on B-Engaged will help us get a larger budget for next year, so that we can put on more service projects and fundraisers C. The Southern Tier Divisional i. This Saturday, December 5th, in UU206 from 2-4pm ii. It’s a combined divisional between the Southern Tier Division (which our club is a part of) and the Iroquois Division iii. There will be a popcorn bar, fellowship activities, and more! iv. You will get to meet members from other clubs and learn about what they’re doing in their clubs v. Everyone is welcome to come! III) Old Business A. Bake Sale i. We raised around $40. Thank you to everyone who helped out! B. Rescue Mission Meal i. There were 2 sittings and we helped serve early thanksgiving dinner to economically disadvantaged people and families C. Challah for Hunger i. We helped bake Challah bread and sell it ii. It was John’s first time making it and he had a lot of fun iii. Thank you to everyone who came out to help IV) New Business A. Salvation Army Bell Ringing i. Saturday, December 12th at Weis from 11am-7pm ii. You will stand outside with a bell and ring it. There will be a bucket for people to donate money to the Salvation Army iii. There will be 2 hour, 2 person, shifts iv. Sign-ups are in the email. They are first come, first serve v. If you need transportation, John and someone from Broome County Kiwanis will be available to drive you and from Weis B. End of the Semester Social i. Next Thursday at the same time as our meetings ii. There will be pizza, games and superlative awards!!
iii. It will be ugly Christmas sweater themed. So wear your ugly Christmas sweaters!! (if you have any #NotMandatory) C. Krispy Kreme Fundraiser i. Monday, December 14th from 12-4pm in the Marketplace ii. It’s a $1 for a donut, $5 for 6 and $10 for a dozen iii. Some of the proceeds from selling the donuts go to the Thirst Project, and the rest will go to Geller Oncology Fund at Lourdes Hospital D. Water Bottles i. All the money that we make from the bottles will be donated to the Thirst Project, and you also have a chance to win raffle tickets E. Box Tops i. We will be donating them to a local school, and you can win raffle tickets that will be used to win prizes at our end of the year social! F. Can Tabs i. We will be donating them to the Ronald McDonald House! G. Think about running for office over winter break i. Elections will be held before our District Convention (DCON), which is from March 11th -13th ii. Don’t be afraid to reach out to any of the current E-Board members and ask them about their positions, duties, etc. iii. The positions and some of the related responsibilities are as follows: a. President: Sending out weekly emails, making meeting agendas, running and presiding over weekly meetings and board meetings, delegating tasks among the e-board members, working with treasurer and our local Kiwanis club, and reaching out to organizations to set up service projects b. Vice President: In charge of committee chairs and making their directives, which are basically tasks/assignments and deadlines for the committee chairs. He/she is also responsible for helping committee chairs form committees and hold meetings c. Treasurer: Manage financial transactions, maintain the club budget, deposit money, and process reimbursements, vouchers, and donations. He/she is also responsible for
following and working in accordance with SA guidelines and rules d. Secretary: Record attendance at all general body, executive board, and committee meetings. He/she is also responsible for taking minutes at general body and board meetings, recoding member service hours at events, and filling out the MRF at the end of each month e. Editor: In charge of creating a monthly newsletter, released at the beginning of each month, summarizing important news and events from the previous month f. Webmaster: Responsible for maintaining and updating our club website, and all other social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) iv. New Board will take over on April 1st, which is when CKI new year starts v. If you would like the be a committee chair, applications for that will be out after the new board takes over a. You do not run for committee chair positions. Instead you apply for a position H. Report any service you do over winter break i. If you do any service projects over winter break, don’t forget to let me know, so that you can receive service hours! ii. My email is ksingh15@binghamton.edu a. Please include your name, number of hours, date of the event, name of the event, and a short description of what you did I. T-Shirt, pins, certificates, etc. i. They will be coming in next semester ii. There will be a pinning ceremony at the beginning of next semester for all new members V) Closing Business A. Last Meeting! i. This was our last meeting for the semester ii. Next week, we will be having the End of the Semester Social a. It’s going to be a lot of fun. So come through, y’all!! B.
