Family Garden
“My career choice in horticulture has been extremely rewarding and fun at the same time. I truly love the interdependency of plants and people especially in a botanical garden setting. I have always done my best to infuse my work with the best of my knowledge, skills and dedication in hopes of bringing more interest, excitement and appreciation to the people who experience it.

I am grateful for this position here at the Botanical Gardens and I thank all of you for being so welcoming. It has been an interesting and busy two months for me, learning about the people, the plants and the operations that make the Gardens so wonderful. And so… if I have not yet met you please take the time to become acquainted and let me know what your thoughts are about improving the overall experience for everyone.”
Our New Honey Beehive!
Celebrate the honeybee, an insect that has much to give us and much to teach us! Honeybees are critically important pollinators. In the course of gathering nectar from flowers, bees transport and disperse pollen in ways that make possible the growth of fruits, nuts, and seeds. Commercial honeybee operations pollinate crops responsible for one out of every three bites of food on our tables. It is critically important that humans understand what goes on in and around the beehive so we can help stem the tide of honeybee decline and promote re-population.

London Gardens & Chelsea Flower Show Trip
Meet the Queen!
We need to appreciate that healthy honeybees give us something even more significant as they drift from flower to flower – the pollination of plants essential to our food supply as well as flowers for our enjoyment. Honey and beeswax, products of the beehive, also enhance our lives in many ways. The Beehive is located in House 12 and the Queen has a red dot on her back. Stop by and check it out! A special thanks to Board Member Joe DiDomenico, Jr. for donating the beehive! Horticulture Program
