On Thursday, the men will hear C. H. Shumaker, director, Institute of Building Material Distribution, Southern Methodist Unir4ersity. On this day, the ladies will have their own luncheon and style show.
The ladies vvill enjoy special programs during the business sessions. There will be joint luncheons, dinners and outings but also ample time for relaxation. Mrs. M. C. Davidson is the chairman for the ladies' activities.
Chairman Russell has made arrangements for a post-convention trip to Mexico and invites all interested delegates r-o rvrite him.

Colombiqn Wins Design Awqrd
A Zl-year-old architectural student from the Republic of Colombia lr,as nationally honored for his award-rvinning house design in competition with other architectural students in the United States. On behalf of the Indianapolis Home Shou', sponsor of the competition, a special citation of n.rerit u'as presented to Jaime Saenz, of Colombia, shortly to graduate from the University of Notre Dame at South Bend, by Albert N[. Cole, Administrator of the Housing and Home Finance Agency. Upon his graduation this montl.r, he l'ill join a Bogota architectural firm.
RRCC Awording Scholcrships To Conservqtion Workshop
Eureka, Calif.-A total of $450 in scholarships will be awarded to Redwood Region elementary and high school teachers for the Humboldt State College Conservation Workshop to be held at Arcata, July 12 to 23, the Re<lwood Region Conservation Council announced. The scholarships are jointly sponsored by the council and its local chapters, the Redwood Circles. Each scholarship is r,r'orth $25 and each circle rvill award two.
Jointly sponsored by the college, the State Departments of Education and Natural Resources, and the RRCC, the workshop will stress the relationships of forest resources to the economy of the region. Included in the curriculum are field trips to logging and manufacturing plants, lectures by forestry personnel, both public and private, and evaluation of educational materials.
Circles are located in Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna-Scotia, Willits, Ukiah, Fort Bragg, Cloverdale and Santa Rosa, Calif.
Fullerton Building Booms
Fullerton, in Orange County, California, reports a building boom for the first five months of 1954. Permits for that time totalled $8,468,979 as against $3,238,000 for the same months last year. The building is mostly single-family residences, permits for 700 surpassing 293 f.or last year.
