Herb Klass has just been appointed assistant sales manager for the Pacific Lumber Company, of San Francisco, under Peter C. McNevin. At the same time, Al Nolan has been made manager of western sales for the company.

Fire threatened the destruction of the huge Coos ISay Lumber Company plant, at Bay Point, Oregon, on July 4th, and finallv destroved 300.000 feet of lumber and T4lumber trucks.
Bill Sampson, of Los Angeles, has bought an interest in the Pasadena Screen Company, of Pasadena, and changed the name to W. A. Sampson.
Announcement is made that the second unit of the mammoth sawmill plant of the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company, at Longview, Washington, has been completed and placed in operation. Two more mill units are being built, to make a total of four mills in the great plant.
The Mendocino Lumber Company sawmill, located at Mendocino, Calif., has resumed operations after a year's shutdown, making 150,000 feet daily.

L. W. MacDonald, head of the L. W. MacDonald L.umber Company, Beverly Hills, and his party will sail from New York City July 23 on the Nieuw Amsterdam for a three-months' E,uropean holiday. The veteran lurnberman will visit E,ngland, Scotlancl and Ireland, and Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland and Belgium on the Continent. He plans to return on the M. V. Dongedyk about the middle of October, traveling via the canal from Rotterdam to Los Angeles.

The last club meeting until Septen-rber was held by the Sacramento "Tom Cats" at the Old Tavern, June 16. Bob Aclams, president, conclucted the meeting and the sponsor for tl-re event was the Noah Adams Lumber Company. The June meeting marked the completion of the club's 14th year, so next year will find Sacramento Club 109 celebrating its 15th anniversary come February 10.
The order of the evening was the appointrnerrt of a nominating committee to select officers and <lirectors for the coming club year. The men chosen for the nominating committee were: Lorin Swift, Mitch l-anclis, Henry Ul-rlinger and C. D. LeMaster. Installation of new ofhcers will take place in September.
