Chanterelles, the Emblem of Maidenhood…

August is the peak season for picking chanterelles. These nice, sunny mushrooms look fresh and juicy, so when you see them, you immediately feel hungry. You can cook a lot of dishes withthem, such as snacks, pickles, soups, main courses, pies, etc. Not only dochanterelles have a pleasant aromaand great nutty taste, but they are also healthy. Unlike othermushrooms, chanterellesare not at all fanciful: they do not rot in the rain, they do not get dry in the sun, they only stop growing. They are never wormy. This peculiarity of chanterelles is reflected in folklore and literature. For instance, Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz wrote the following in his poem Pan Tadeusz(Sir Thaddeus): …mushrooms, so famous in the Lithuanian songs as the emblem of maidenhood, for the worms do not eat them, and, marvelous to say, no insect alights on them… What is more, chanterelles are easy to pick and transport. You don’t have to worry about pressing them when packing them in bags or buckets because they do not crumple or break. All these peculiarities are combined with the unique vitamin and mineral content of chanterelles: The spores and meat of the mushrooms contain chinomannose. This is a natural polysaccharide that has a detrimental effect on parasites. That is why chanterelles are never wormy. Moreover, in alternative medicine they are used as remedies for intestinal worms. But this agent is decomposed when heate d over60 degrees Cel-

siusorwhen salted. So for therapeutic purposes, people use dried chanterelles or tinctures. Chanterelles are rich in B vitamins, which increase metabolic processes in the body and are goodfor theskin and nervous system. The mushrooms are yellow and orange due to the fact that they contain beta-Carotene. The latter is also called provitamin A. Beta-Carotene is an antioxidant and preserves your eyesight. It increases resistance to infections, strengthens teeth and bones. Chanterelles are good for your liver thanks to ergosterol. This is a polysaccharide, provitamin D2. Ergosterol filtrates your liver and restores the normal functioning of this organ through affecting its ferments. Trametonolin acid contained in chanterelles fights the hepatitis virus. Moreover, chanterelles contain vitamin PP, copper and zinc salts. Regular consumption of dishes made of these can help eliminate salts of heavy metals and radionuclides from the organism. Amino acids that fulfill your need for proteins are a precious component of these mushrooms. This is particularly relevant to vegetarians. Anyonewho tries to eat healthy food can rely on chanterelles for

they are a low-caloric and dietetic. One hundred grams of chanterelles contain only 19 kcal, 1.5 grams of proteins, 1 gram of fats, and 1 gram of carbohydrates. If you cook them correctly, they will cause no harm to your figure. In addition, chanterelles contain 7 grams of food fiber that improves digestion. These mushrooms are 89%water, so you shouldremember that the amount of the product considerably decreases in the course of cooking. Cooking chanterelles is easy and time-saving. And the result makes both a cook and guests happy. Chanterelles go very well with potatoes, onions and other vegetables, in particular when served with cream and sour cream. For instance, you can bake these products in an oven using the following recipe.

Oven-baked chanterelles with potatoes and vegetables You will need the following ingredients: Chanterelles – 500 g Potatoes – 4–5 pcs Tomatoes – 2–3 pcs Bulb onion – a big bulb Olive oil – 50 g Sunflower oil – 2–3 tablespoons

Hard cheese – 100–150 g Sour cream – 200 ml Salt, pepper Dill – 0.5 of a bundle How to cook chanterelles: Soak chanterelles in cold water for 10-15 minutes, then wash and cut them. Chop onions in half rings and fry with mushrooms on a pan (using sunflower oil). Use spices according to your taste. Peel the potatoes and slice them. Put them on a roasting dish witholive oil. Add salt and pepper. Put fried mushrooms with onions over them. Slice tomatoes in the form of circles. This will be the next layer of the casserole. Add salt and pepper. Add sour cream and then sprinkle grated cheese. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. After that, sprinkle the chopped dill over the casserole. Put it in the oven for another 10-15 minutes. And then you can serve the dish! There a lot of recipes to cook chanterelles. But if you don’t have the time or desire to be in a kitchen, you can taste deliciousdishes made of these or other mushrooms in the Korchmarestaurants, such as “Chanterelles stewed with cream,” “Mushrooms from a barrel” (chanterelles, penny buns, honey fungi served with fragrant oil and onions) and “Assorted mushrooms” (chanterelles, milk-caps, penny buns, honey fungi and suilli with greens and onions). The combination of an attractive appearance, great taste, and high nutritional value makes chanterelles popular among ordinary people, culinary specialists, and doctors. Top 100 Living Geniuses:

Ukrainian Artist Ivan Marchuk …Even at the age of 80 Ivan Marchuk still looks good. He wears the same hairstyle and exudes plenty of life energy. Ivan Marchuk is a talented artist from the Ternopil region, a creator of a unique art style “Pliontanism” (derived from the Galician dialectal word “pliontaty” – “to weave,” “to knit”) who gained his first recognition outside Ukraine. There, he received a great number of titles and awards. For instance, Ivan Marchuk was listed as one of “Top 100 Living Geniuses” by the British The Daily Telegraph. Even though his works are housed in numerous world museums, the artist confessed that fame didn’t spoil him. He remains the same. He is a hard worker and a dreamer. – Mr. Marchuk, do you ever suffer from depression? – Yes, I do. I’ve had no desire to touch a paintbrush for half a year because of the atmosphere in Ukraine. I am sensitive to such things. I know what the future holds for us, but I won’t tell. What do I do? I sit in my studio and speak to my paintings. – Which of the modern artists do you admire? – There are hundreds of them. My idol was and still is Liubomyr Medvid (Ivan Marchuk refuses to tell the names of other favorite artists). I am frequently asked if I come up with themes for my paintings myself or if I “visualize” them? I do neither. I just work. I improvise. All days in my calendar are workdays, without any holidays. My hands work like a machine. – Do you often present your paintings to people? – Not anymore. I used to give them as gifts more often when I was banned during the Soviet times. I used to distribute my paintings instead of business cards. Now there are some people who sell my paintings at auctions. I never speak about money. It’s a sin. (Ivan Marchuk flatly refuses to tell the price of his canvases.)

– You are famous, self-sufficient and well-off. You can lie on the couch and let your hair down. – I am a totally different type of person. I am financially secure, but Ukraine didn’t create a better life for me. I live the same now as I used to. Fifty years ago I had a cramped studio on the fifth floor and the same small room I have now. I cannot work on large canvases. They are uncomfortable to carry around and difficult to get upstairs. Presidents, city mayors, and other prominent people came to my studio and all promised to help me with new accommodation but still haven’t done a thing. They don’t need me. Actually, all great people of Ukraine are not needed. – I want to ask you about your wife. I know that you were married for only three months. – I have already forgotten this... (Once Ivan Marchuk said that he immediately knew he wouldn’t spend his life with that woman. And that’s what happened. He has a lot of admirers, but he still hasn’t proposed to any of them.) I have a daughter. She is a musician. People call her «Paganini in a skirt.» Where did she get her talent? It was my gift to her (smiling). Once, after examining my paintings, an expert in Moscow said that I must have had a very serious

music education. But I can only strum on a guitar (he smiles). – Do you have a dream? – Yes, I do. I dream about having a wife. Some say that one shouldn’t look for a wife. She will come herself. It seems that I have been living with her my whole life and she still hasn’t come. My friends wonder how it is possible. – In one of your interviews you said that you eat like a bird, very little. Why? – I eat enough. I eat not only tasty, but also healthy food. Potatoes with cucumbers or sauerkraut. Sometimes with herring and from time to time with salo (slabs of fatback). I eat buckwheat, rice, or oatmeal with raisins, dried apricots or nuts. I don’t like red caviar (he smiles). Once a month I cook borscht (beetroot soup). In the summer I cook tomato soup. Nobody can compete with me in that. If I have some homemade cream, not the kind from a store, I add it to the soup. – What do you remember of the time when you lived in Australia? Do you often recall that land? Do you regret returning home?

– It was a paradise. In Ukraine it is hell. Even if one day our lives change for the better, I won’t see it. Probably, I should have been born at another time. – Do you have a lot of friends? Are there people who are jealous of you? – Yes, there are. It’s impossible to have a lot of friends. I had a friend who betrayed me after 30 years of our friendship. Now he makes false copies of my paintings. He signs them with my name and sells them on Andriyivskyi Uzviz. He learned everything from me and disappeared. I noticed paintings in a gallery and realized that those were my copies. My paintings are always neatly composed. Sometimes I give them as a present. This is abstract art. Those paintings, with the same signature as mine, were painted with dry paints applied in a thick layer forming a rough surface. – What do you feel when you give out autographs? Do people recognize you on the streets? – I feel that no one and nothing can change me. I didn’t change when I was “shelved” for 20 years.

Even a thing that some call the “heyday of glory” didn’t change me. But still my life is tragic. I still suffer because I don’t live as I should. But it’s a long story. Once a journalist asked me «What was the happiest day in your life?» It was when I enrolled in college and knew that I would become an artist. My whole life is on canvas, but I still haven’t lived it... – Why did you stop painting portraits? Maybe people will inspire you? – I like beautiful images. However, I want to realize something I haven’t done yet. I have reached the summit and I must change something. There are so many Marchuks in me (he smiles). You know, everyone can make a portrait. Even children and students. Once I portrayed myself as a 150-year-old man. I’ve set a high goal for myself, so that means that I will have to suffer that long. One has to stay by my side to experience this. Otherwise, nobody will understand me. – Once you said that a woman should be interesting. What does this mean?

– When I look at you, I think that you are interesting. You are beautiful more than interesting. An interesting woman is the one I want to paint immediately, whereas a beautiful one is the one I like watching. How do I know? It’s a gut feeling.. – Who can inspire you to make art? – I am fed up with my freedom. A pretty or interesting woman...and a kitten can help me to relieve tension. I can’t have a cat because I am a vagrant. I won’t be able to take it with me. I hate dogs. They are annoying. I like proud creatures. That’s why I need a woman. But people can also be annoying. I have experienced a lot. I can handle some annoyance. – What annoys you the most? Trash. Our heavenly Earth turned into a massive landfill. This monument is on the list of the Seven Wonders of Russia and is considered to be one of the highest monuments not only in Russia, but in the whole European continent. The size is stupefying: the height is 85 meters, and the weight is 8,000 tons! It is not surprising because the sculpture, located on Mamayev Kurgan (Tumulus of Mamay) in the city of Volgograd, had to immortalize the heroic defense of Stalingrad in World War II. And so the creators used as many resources as possible to create it. In 1967, when the construction was finished, it turned out to be the highest statue in the world. Due to this fact, it was immediately listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Currently, this Russian wonder is also included in the list of the world’s most giant sculptures. To compare, without its base the world-known Statue of Liberty in New York is only 46 meters high. The statue in Volgograd was unveiled on October 15, 1967. A group of engineers worked on it for 8 years. Its author was the gifted sculptor Eugene Vutevich, who left behind numerous masterpieces. At the opening ceremony he said, “It was 15 years of search and doubts, sadness and happiness, lost and found decisions. What did we want to tell people by means of this monument created on the historic Mamayev Kurgan,

the place of bloody battles and immortal feats? We aimed at reproducing the indestructible morale of the Soviet soldiers and their wholehearted loyalty to the Motherland.” From the very beginning, the creation of the sculpture received a great deal of attention. Rumor has it that its height was determined by Nikita Khrushchev, who ordered its authors to make it higher than the Statue of Liberty in

Interesting facts: Sculptor Vutevich once said, “The administration asks me why the statue’s mouth is open. This does not look nice.” And I reply that she shouts, “For the Motherland, you mother-f…s!”

The USSR Street Scales

During the building process, there was a need for a non-stop supply of concrete; otherwise the joints between layers could turn out to be insufficiently solid. The trucks delivering concrete to the monument were marked with colored stripes. Their drivers were allowed to run red lights and the police had no right to stop them. The sculpture is depicted on a 1983 postage stamp of the GDR. America. As a result, the figure is 30 times as high as a human one. Actually, the monument construction was a very profound undertaking. Only the best specialists were employed to work on it. The leader of the project was Vutevich who had already created an ensemble monument to Soviet soldiers in Berlin and the sculpture “We Shall Beat Our Swords in Plowshares” that still adorns the square in front of the UN building in New York. The engineer group was headed by Nikolai Nikitin, who took part in projecting Moscow State University and the Ostankino TV tower. The sculpture was cast layer by layer using a special molds, using 5,550 tons of concrete and 2,400 tons of metal. Before installing the monument, the workers poured concrete into the basis 15 meters deep. An interesting fact is that despite its colossal weight, the sculpture freely stands on the plate, like a figure on a chess board. It is hollow inside and consists of

separate cells. The frame is supported by 99 stretched-out metal wire ropes. In the beginning, the sword – 33 meters in length and 14 tons in weight – was made of stainless steel edged with titan sheets. But these sheets rattled in the wind, so in 1972 the sword’s edge was replaced with another one that completely consisted of steel. In 1965, there were some concerns that the monument could collapse since the sculpture was placed on rather unstable soil that was gradually creeping down in the direction of the Volga River. Therefore, even during the process of its creation, the members of the USSR State Building Commission issued a recommendation to strengthen the monument’s construction. The top part of the 85-meter monument has now moved 221 millimeters, or 75% of the acceptable amount. Experts believe that if the deviation of the statue from the vertical axis increases by another 40 millimeters, it can collapse. Text: Stepan HRYTSIUK

It is now difficult to say why scales suddenly appeared on the streets of Soviet cities. Perhaps, people were trying to watch their weight. At that time, a healthy lifestyle was popularized in magazines and on television. Maybe it was just because of curiosity. Anyway, from the beginning of spring and till late autumn, white scales could be found near crossroads, markets, and large stores. Serious ladies, some of them nurses, operated them. Very rarely men operated them. The service cost five kopecks. As it was so cheap, lots of people wished to weigh themselves. Often, people even stood in a long line. In large cities, street scales were quite widespread, which wasn’t true in regional centers. Sometimes people from nearby villages came to weigh themselves with their entire families. A person stood on a metal platform, and the process started. Weight was measured with the help of two plummets running on the scale: one plummet was big and the other was a little smaller. The operator pushed them with her finger, stopped them in the right place, then slightly adjusted them for accuracy and told the weight. Five hundred grams were deducted from the total to take account of the weight of clothes. In autumn and spring, when it was cold outside, the deduction was even greater. The weighing procedure was especially joyful for children. Moreover, at the same time they could measure their height. Generally, the street service in the USSR was quite good. In addition to street scales, there were water dispensers, telephone boxes, stalls with ice cream, and kvass in barrels, as well as shoe repair and watchmakers’ stands. In addition to stationary outlets, there were also many mobile ones. For example, there was a mobile clinic. People who were born and lived in the Soviet Union remember that approximately once a year an old bus with an x-ray machine appeared outside their houses. There they could get a chest photofluorography or advice on different health issues. Movie theaters came in exactly the same buses where mainly cartoons for children were shown. At that time, television was boring and dull, so it was no wonder that the mobile movie theaters were always packed with children.

Petrograd. Part One The situation with travelers from Saint Petersburg to Moscow hasn’t changed. There were no tickets left for the evening train. I bought the two last tickets for a 7:30 high-speed train on Saturday morning. Actually, I bought three tickets, but my daughter fell ill shortly before the trip and it was only the two of us, my son and me.

The Globe in Your Pocket I planned out this trip about a month before it happened. In June, I wanted to take my older kids and myself and spend a weekend in Saint Petersburg. We had a lot of goals: to see the Hermitage, the Peterhof Palace, the white nights, and a lot of other things. The main two were to show my kids the Northern Palmyra – Saint Petersburg – check if we can “live” together in the same boat. We were lucky not to get stuck in a traffic jam on Saturday morning and we even got to the Lenin-

grad Railway Station in time. To save money, the railway station, the Moscow avenue, and the region around Saint Petersburg are still named after Lenin. Or maybe it was out of pity for the people. Saying or writing “Saint Petersburg region” in different forms and documents would have been a nightmare. I am not sure why it is so, but the railway station is still called “Leningradskiy Railway Station.” It’s all right, if it was only a railway station named after Lenin. But it’s not so good when it goes along with Lenin’s Mausoleum and Lenin himself, Stalin’s tomb behind the Mausoleum in the center of the capital city. I was walking through the Leningragskiy Railway Station thinking about all this stuff. There were metal detectors and safety check-ups everywhere. There were tired and angry people wearing security uniforms. The railway station reminded me of a market. People were selling food and mobile phones, again food and again mobile phones. We went through one more metal detector to get to the platforms. We were walking along a train. There were two identical high-speed Sapsan trains on the platform with severalminute difference in the departure time. Maybe one of them was on an intelligence mission or was a part of

a diversionary tactic of the Russian Railways’ executives? We found our coach. Our seats were in different rows. We were upset because of this, but a lady sitting near me offered to switch places so that my son could sit next to me. She had a window seat and we had aisle seats. We thanked her a lot and gave her our respect. I suppose that my bearded lumberjack look didn’t impress her. But then I thought that maybe it that’s precisely why she got out of harm’s way. Then I got to thinking that 200 km/h is not the best possible speed for the Russian Railways. I recollect China and a trip on a Chinese train at a speed of 350 km/h. Some say that in Japan there are trains that travel at a speed of 700 km/h. It’s like a plane that doesn’t take off or land. I was thinking about the fact that our lives depended on every single railway track and tie and that I risked my life and the life of my only son just on a whim to see another city. Bologoye town is a half of the way and the first stop. Perfect. There were some other settlements’ names and destroyed buildings near the railway stations. Postwar wounds still haven’t healed 70 years later. Our victories are strange. Defeated Napoleon invaded Moscow, Mercedes and BMW cars of

defeated Germany occupy our streets and yards. All capitalistic economic wars were won by those who made their enemies buy their goods and that way destroyed the enemy’s economy and deprived their people of their future. How amazingly easy it is to kill people wearing uniforms of a different fashion and color. People are awarded medals and heroized for this. And so we arrived at the Moscow Railway Station in Saint Petersburg. Hurray! We did it. The sun was shining. It was warm and brightly. However, there had been rain and cold weather in the forecast. We were lucky again. We went to the hotel on foot. Our little wheeled suitcase was approaching the Winter Palace of 2016 like a Maxim machine gun. Oh dear, something is going to happen in 2017. Saint Petersburg is not just a different city. It’s totally different. Everything is different here: people, cars, and their traffic. The low-hanging northern sky and clouds fastened to the Admiralty spire and the spire of Peter and Paul’s Cathedral. They couldn’t fly any further and were lying on the roofs of buildings. At one moment they were as white as first snow, at another moment they were blackish blue like when the sun goes to get some night rest. People say that there are 300 days in a year without

sun here. This means that there is only one sunny day a week. It’s not quite enough for good vitamin D absorption. We were going along Kyiv highway. We didn’t need a map. We had to reach Gostiny Dvor and turn right toward the Russian Museum. Hotel Europe is a bit of Europe here, but still it’s Russian. The staff was neat and welcoming as in Europe, but the room was ready as early as 11:30 a.m. as it is usual in Russia. In the USA check-out is usually at noon and check-in is at 3 p.m. It’s a robbery. They steal three hours of a day. But what is fair these days after all? What is for real now? You vote for the authorities and they introduce laws under which you are either a thief or a pauper. Or maybe a pauper thief. There are no patrons for whom I will thank God every day during my whole life. We left our luggage and went to have lunch on an Italian street in an Italian restaurant. This was just around the corner. Here everything is around the corner like in Europe, but a lot has been done like in Russia. The restaurant Little Italy is right at the crossroads. The sun was throwing its merciless light on the facade. Useless bare tables were standing near the wall. At one table people were drinking beer. It is still allowed to drink alcohol in Saint Petersburg. To drink in the morning, too. It is allowed to drink near canals and on benches, near where tourists pass by the granite promenade of Neva. Foreigners avert their eyes. They are not used to such things. Our people loudly gulp and start to impatiently wait for the end of the walk. If one is able to recognize drinks which according to today’s fashion are in bags people loudly jubilate and sigh. Because of these thoughts you start smelling herring and alcohol breath. Little Italy was empty. Nobody was welcoming us. There was a smell of our Soviet cook shops where one and the same mop was used for cleaning tables, the kitchen, and probably the

restroom, too. If you add shavings of household soap, it all made up a complex, long-lasting and unescapable odor of a snack-bar that serves meat dumplings. If the concentration of the smell had been higher than 10%, I would have left the restaurant. This would mean that they use the same mop even to wash dishes. I am kidding. A server showed up. She waited for us to greet her first. “Do you serve lunch?” I asked. “No, we don’t,” she said. “Don’t you have any food?” I asked. “We have food!” she answered. I understood that she thought I was asking about business lunch. This is a local trend. Here you pay 145 rubles for lunch. However, in good places only one bun costs that much. “We must look bad,” I thought. We got seated and placed our order. Judging from the Caprese salad, sanctions do have some impact on the menu. Pasta with cheese, pizza, and risotto with porcini mushrooms dismissed these thoughts and proved that there are some smuggled goods in the Northern capital. Everything was delicious. We must have been lucky again. But still I recommend the restaurant Little Italy on the Italian street. The crucial thing is not to run, not to hurry up, but think for a while. Otherwise, we could have left without having a lunch and that could have been it. We had to hurry up as we had a meeting with our tour guide. Judging by her voice, she was young. Her name was Zhenya. My assistant found her. She

said that feedback about her was positive. Okay, we will see. Who knows? Tour guides are people of a special breed. They are good at examining their “patients.” Over time people can get tired or forget everything in a minute. They will forget both the guide and everything he or she was blabbering about. But, these people, i.e. tour guides, they like their job, their city, and everything that is in it. We were lucky to have our tour guide. Some people are positive and pleasant. They know everything and understand everyone. The voice of such people is also humane. So, our tour guide was exactly this type of person. If you need a tour guide, tell me and I will give you her contact details. We came to the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. I had always thought that a spit is when two rivers merge together. However, on Vasilyevsky Island the Neva merges with the Neva. Hundreds of times I have heard the name of Vasilyevsky Island, but I had never realized that this is exactly the place where The Stock Exchange, red gasoperated lighthouses, the Kunstkamera Museum (Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after

Peter the Great) are located. This time I came to realize that. We were facing the Neva and the Stock Exchange was behind us. On our left there was Peter and Paul’s Fortress (The Petropavlovskaya Krepost), on the right was The Winter Palace. To be more correct, there was The Winter Palace, The Greater Hermitage, The Small Hermitage and The Hermitage Theater. When an old palace became out of fashion and if there were enough financial resources, Russian tsars erected new palaces. The interiors were decorated and art collections were selected according to their preferences. An enormous rattling helicopter Mi-8 circled above us. It was a helicopter sightseeing tour. I recollected how many of my friends and acquaintances crashed flying on one and how I flew above Kamchatka and the Arctic on one. I remembered that and decided not to fly on a helicopter that day. Guests of our restaurant chain had a chance to celebrate one of the most interesting summer holidays Ivana Kupala Day without leaving Moscow. Our employees revived ancient traditions at Korchma!

Employees of our restaurant chain once again came together on the sports field. Korchma organized a football tournament at the Miagkov Stadium bringing together the biggest fans of this game. As a result of a long competition, the final ranking was as follows:

1. Korchma on Bochkova Street 2. Korchma on Odintsovo 3. Korchma on Mokhovaya Street The best support group was from the Korchma on Profsoyuznaya Street.

Korchma’s Special Guests

They tasted pelmeni (meat dumplings) and after that drank good homemade fruit liqueur. Once again we made sure that the whole world is interested in the Slavic cuisine. This is proven by numerous foreign guests who visit the Korchma Taras Bulba restaurant chain. This time our guests were members of the cult American band Rival Sons. They came to Moscow as part of their final concert tour with the British band Black Sabbath. The musicians from California warmed up the audience for the Sabath performance. Before visiting Russia, Rival Sons said that they wanted to taste local pelmeni and have a hard drink. As we can see, the musicians did just that in our restaurant! We’ll go sightseeing. Maybe, we’ll see some museums. And I want to taste pelmeni and drink a glass of vodka. My wife’s family always prepares pelmeni. I want to taste them here. Korchma’s Tour of Saint Petersburg Gorgeous architecture, museums, culinary masterpieces from local restaurants, and breathtaking history. The staff of our chain had a chance to take a walk around the city on the Neva River. The tour

was a prize for restaurant employees who won the competition “Peter Is Waiting for You!” They spent only two days St. Petersburg, but their emotions and memories will last for many years!

Feedback: We liked this beautiful and magical city with its nice architecture and obsession with cleanness very much. Everything was very interesting and informative. Our guide was fantastic. He loves his city and there was never a dull moment with him. As a result, those two days were very eventful for us. Though we were a little bit tired, we didn’t give up and wanted to go everywhere we could. All in all, we can say that our trip to St. Petersburg was just magnificent. The people that gathered were very nice, and we made friends with them! We would like to express our gratitude to Yuriy and, of course, to all the organizers for such a wonderful trip. We hope it won’t be our last!
