1 What is Key Club?

Key Club is an international student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership

Our Core Values Leadership - Leadership is grounded in humility and service to others. A true leader listens, recognizes, and empowers.

Character building - Character is built by everyday acts of kindness, integrity and teamwork to grow stronger relationships and communities.

Caring - Compassion for others is a cornerstone of the Key Club experience, inspiring action and service to one’s community.

HARD TO SAY GOODBYE excerpt by Marc Castaneda Key Club has been a part of my life since I was attending STEAM Middle School. Honestly, I might have some memories from Key Club from when I was at Clinkscale Elementary. My sister grew up in Key Club and my dad sponsored one of his own at Everman High School. To have to leave all I've known for the past decade is hard, but the next chapter begins.

I am proud to leave the incoming board because I know they are greatly capable of maintaining the legacy I hope to have left behind. I'm excited to see @tokeyclub post the Top 25 for next quarter and see Burleson High School on the slides once again.

Thank you Burleson High School Key Club for having me as your President.

Upcoming Events School Supply Drive We will be buying school supplies to donate at Elk Camp to the incoming students. Date TBD

Elk Camp

August 11th we will have our Freshman Orientation! It will be at the school starting at 6:30, so be there by 6 to set up!

Tarrant Area Food Bank September 17th we will be volunteering at the TAFB in Fort Worth. Bring cans if you have them and be ready to work! 14pm arrive 15 minutes early!!

I don't have much experience with Key Club, as I just started a few days ago, but I can already tell it's going to be great for me. I have a couple siblings that have been in the club, one of them being the current secretary. Obviously, I get scared that I won't live up to everything they have done, but I've started to think about all of their experiences they shared with me as something to learn from rather than something to "beat". From the stories I have heard from them, I think this club is going to be just right for me. I love volunteer work and I love doing volunteer work with people I know.

So far all of the experiences I have had with the Key Club members have been pleasant and I feel like this is a really good group of people that value the same things as me. I was scared of how fast paced everything seemed, especially when I was asked if I wanted to be the Editor. I genuinely didn't think I would be able to handle it, but the people in this club have helped me so much these past few days and I feel really confident already. I may not be the best yet, but I know that it won't take long in this environment.

Key Club to me, means making a difference, no matter how insignificant it may seem to outsiders.

Clubs like this are really important to me in general because it really makes a change in a world that's plagued by performative activism especially for people my age. Some people may not have easy ways to solve problems in our community and our world but this club is a good gateway for people that can or want to.

Burleson HS Key Club has a Miracle Minute at every pep rally to raise funds for CMN. Contact your local CMN hospital and invite a representative to a meeting to share ideas and create a partnership.

For decades Key Clubs have worked with March of Dimes to impact the lives of babies and mothers everywhere. We continue that tradition in holding multiple fundraisers a year to combat the crisis of preterm birth.

UNICEF is the only organization of the UN dedicated exclusively to children.

UNICEF helps to provide for the needs, in 150 countries, of children through service. Clubbers donate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF every October.

Thirst Project is a nonprofit working with young people to end the global water crisis by building freshwater wells in developing communities that need safe drinking water.
