Burwell Community Print Centre was established in 1988 at Burwell Village College as a print resource for the local community and also to provide work experience and training for adults with learning disabilities. We provide support for up to 29 people with learning disabilities known as “Printers” who are involved in all aspects of running Burwell Print. Some of the Printers participate in an accredited training programmme through our partnership with Cambridge Regional College. We are a Registered Charity and a Limited Company, more commonly known as a Social Training Enterprise, with strong links to other similar organisations in the area.

Headway Cambridgeshire celebrated its first Open Week by formally opening its new premises at Fulbourn.

Most of the Headway team is now based at Block 10 where the building has been transformed and now has a kitchen, a computer suite, art room, other activity rooms and a large gym. Chief Executive Mary Goode said: “After a long search for better and bigger premises, we are so pleased to be at Ida Darwin. After spending some money modifying the building, mostly to improve disabled access, Block 10 is well designed to help us deliver a specialist and modern rehabilitation service.“ Headway runs rehabilitation and social inclusion programmes to support about 750 people with brain injuries and their families across Cambridgeshire each year, including bases in Peterborough and Huntingdon.

At its new premises in Fulbourn, over the course of the coming year, around 100 people will be able to access a structured, goal led support service, focusing on personal progression for the client, reablement and social inclusion. The new premises were officially opened on Monday, 8 April by Dr Attila Vegh, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Vegh said: “I am delighted to welcome Headway Cambridgeshire to our Fulbourn site. The work the charity does is truly inspiring and I am pleased that this move will mean they can expand their work and help even more people and their families.

“I had my original watercolour painting scanned and printed on Hahnemüle German Etching, the prints were so impressive, when I was framing them I couldn’t tell which one was the original.” Fran Godwood, Artist. Acid free archival papers: Photorag: 308gsm this is a heavy art paper, with a fibrous finish. The paper softens the image and mutes the colours giving a watercolour feel to the final image. Pearl: A slightly textured 285gsm semi-gloss paper. Holds more detail with punchier colours than the Photorag, whilst maintaining the illustrative/ painted feel. German Etching: This 310gsm heavyweight etching board is silky smooth with a fine surface texture.
