Summer Survival New!

Do you have what it takes to survive? This class is all about making it out of the woods alive. We’ll cover everything you need to know about getting out into the wilderness and having a great time--from shelter set-up, water purification, and food preparation to fire building, packing the right gear, and more–in this four-week class. To cap off your learning experience, we’ll put the skills we’ve gained to the test with an overnight campout at Fischer Farm. Min 6 | Max 9. LS

Family Campfire

Spend a relaxing evening around the fire with roasted s’mores and fun campfire stories. Children under 3 free. Min 6 | Max 20. LS

Owl Prowl New!

Whoo goes there? Join us as we take a relaxing evening hike through the fields around Fischer Woods. We’ll learn all about these amazing nocturnal creatures, their habits, habitats, and maybe even spot an owl or two! Seeing owls is not guaranteed, but we’re sure to have a great time! Min 6 | Max 20. Wetland Walkabout

Join us as we explore Fischer Farm’s wetlands! We will see what kind of critters we can find and why they would want to live in these muddy messes. Exploration areas are dependent upon how weather impacts the wetlands. Min 6 | Max 20. LS

Kids Night Out

Get the kids out of the house and back into nature with this summer camp style night of fun. We’ll play camp games, roast hot dogs, make s’mores, and tell fun stories around the fire. Your child won’t want to miss this! Min 6 | Max 15. LS

Everyday Mindfulness Youth

This class will provide adolescents with fundamental knowledge, tools, and opportunities to practice skills that cultivate present-moment attention, support emotional regulation and emotional balance, foster positive selfdevelopment, improve stress reduction, and support academic performance. Min 5 | Max 20. LS

Morning Wildflower Walk New!

Greet the morning with a calm walk with the wildflowers. We’ll talk about the different types of flowers that grow natively in Illinois, which are invasive, and how you can best help protect our delicate tall grass prairies. Min 4 | Max 20. LS
