Major changes 2016 has contributed essential events to Blue Water, who maintains a strong focus on the needs of the individual customers within transport and logistics For Blue Water, 2016 has been a year of considerable and substantial changes – the biggest change took place as early as in January when Blue Water’s Founder and Managing Director, Kurt Skov, returned to his post as Managing Director. One of the big tasks for Kurt and the other members of the Management Group has been the revision of the strategy to adapt to the company’s ambitions for the coming years. “Keeping a strong customer focus is still important – working closely together with the individual customers and in this way handling their transport and logistics needs in the best way. Over the years, our will and ability to understand and have a close dialogue with our customers have been our most important basis for success”, says Kurt Skov.
Organisational changes

The revised strategy has resulted in a few organisational changes with the object of becoming even stronger within Blue Water’s six business segments: General Cargo, Oil, Gas & Industrial Projects, Wind Logistics, Port Services & Agency, Reefer Logistics and Marine Logistics. “We have strengthened the layers of management and development within the individual business segments so that we can maintain and develop our strong position in the different markets, and we will continue strengthening the global cooperation within as well as across our business segments”.
Projects & investments Financially, Blue Water has this year experienced decreased activity especially in Oil, Gas and Projects due to the low oil price, whereas transport of Industrial Cargo, Consumer Goods and Food Products by Sea, Air and Road have seen increased activity. Commercially, 2016 has been a historic year for Blue Water as the company has won the biggest contracts ever in the company’s history – two contracts at a total value of 469 million Euro for TCO in connection with the extension of the Tengiz Oil Field in Kazakhstan. Here, Blue Water will lead two consortia responsible for transport of modules, weighing up to 1800 tons, through the Russian river system. The consortia are to build 21 special vessels for the project which runs from 2018 to 2021. In August 2016, Blue Water inaugurated their new impressive terminal (12,300 m2 at a price of 17.5 million Euro) in Taulov, Denmark. The terminal serves as import and export hub to and from Denmark and will contribute to strengthening the service, quality and efficiency towards our customers.

Well-attended seminar on La Blue Water and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently hosted a seminar on trading with Latin America. The seminar was held at Blue Water’s headquarters in Esbjerg with more than 100 representatives from the business sector in Denmark. In addition to various presentations, focusing on know-how and development
of business relations with Latin America, one-to-one meetings were arranged between five commercial secretaries from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the participants. Afterwards, one of the participants, Lars Krogh Vammen from Weibel Scientific, expressed his satisfaction with the
Reflections from refugee camps in Greece The following report is from Ivone Azeedo, our colleague at the Lisbon office: I am a 37-year-old single mum. Last September, I decided to go to the Greek island of Lesbos to work as a volunteer for ten days in the KaraTepe and Moria refugee camps. As part of the Remar team (NGO working together with Blue Water’s Aid & Relief department), our main role was to feed thousands of people every day in both camps. I can assure you that 12 hours of hard work every day are not enough. We cooked, we sang and we suffered bruising to our bodies from carrying heavy boxes. But we never felt tired until the moment our head hit the pillow. 90 per cent of the volunteers helping in the camps are refugees from Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. doing this job for months - no holidays, no Sundays, no breaks. All of them arriving in rubber boats having seen many fellow refugees die at sea. They are now part of who I am today. I am glad that they let me into their lives.

Growth in Air Cargo from Asia In recent years, Blue Water’s Danish Air Freight departments have seen a significant increase in imports from the entire Far East. The total volume handled by Blue Water in Danish airports have more than doubled within a year. "We are going through a very positive period where we are improving and developing our transport services from the Far East to Scandinavia. We work to optimise our set-up within our own offices and in cooperation with agents, "says Jonas Espersen, Business Development Manager Air & Sea, Blue Water Aarhus.
The market is constantly changing and so are our customers' demands. Many customers require air freight of larger quantities than previously due to the end customers’ requests for faster delivery. Here, our strong set-up and ability to handle large volumes at short notice are of vital importance. Apart from air freight and general ocean freight, Blue Water also offers alternative solutions such as combined sea/air or rail transport as well as solutions customised to the individual client’s needs.

Research project in Tanzania Earlier this year, Blue Waters Aid- & Relief Team was contacted by a Danish university involved in a research project in Tanzania. A shipment of various equipment was needed for a research and development project for Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute supporting an environmental analysis of Lake Tanganyika in the north-western part of Tanzania. “The scope of work was quite complex with many obstacles locally: poor road conditions, customs formalities etc. Through our efficient network in Africa, and with our agents performing a road survey, we managed to handle the logisti-
cal challenges. With the needed permits, we could finally ship the equipment from Denmark via Dar Es Salaam up to Lake Tanganyika” says Operations Manager for Blue Water’s Aid & Relief team Niels Mikkelsen. “Examples like this, where our team provides all solutions and all permits on behalf of our client and consignee, show how good our set-up in Africa is. Having the right contacts locally is of vital importance”, says Johnny Mortensen, Head of Aid & Relief, who often travels to Africa to meet with the agents.

For this project, Blue Water Shipping is leading a consortium in partnership with Topaz Marine and Energy which will supply 15 specially designed MCVs for the transportation of modules through the Russian river systems to a new offloading facility in Prorva, Kazakhstan. The new contract includes two additio-
nal Module Carrying Vessels, of the VARD 921 design, measuring 123 by 16.5 metres. Both vessels are scheduled for delivery in Q2, 2018 and the contract value is in excess of US$ 40 million. The 17 vessels will be used to transport modules weighing up to 1800 tons from the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, via the Russian inland waterways, to Prorva. This autumn, Blue Water also signed a contract with TCO for three major vessels,
which will be used to transport modules from Kuryk, in the western part of Kazakhstan, to Prorva. This contract was also awarded to a Blue Water led consortium. Tengizchevroil LLP is a Kazakhstani partnership exploring, developing, producing and marketing crude oil, LPG, dry gas and sulfur. Current partners are: Chevron, 50 per cent; KazMunaiGas NC JSC, 20 per cent; ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Ventures Inc., 25 per cent and LukArco, 5 per cent.
Transport of pump module for ExxonMobil This summer, Blue Water Houston was awarded the shipment of a 137 mt pump module by ExxonMobil. The module was received from an installation vessel at Texas Terminals, in Houston, and subsequently prepared for shipment to Bergen, Norway. “Our project team in Houston worked hand in hand with the Chartering department in Esbjerg, planning and executing this critical transport. Engineering, technical and commercial support were crucial for ensuring a safe and cost-effective solution to our valued customer”, says Brent Patterson, Manager Global Projects at Blue Water Houston. Our Field Services team in Houston attended the offload, unit preparation and 6
eventually loadout of the pump module, and the operation was executed without delay or damage. “We are proud of our continued rela-

OIL, GAS & PROJECTS
700 mt tug boats to Panama and Brazil Blue Water Singapore has completed a Heavy Lift Shipment from SVITZER Transmar S/A Maritimos Servicos which is part of the Maersk Conglomerate. Blue Water was engaged to handle the dry mobilisation of four newly built ASD 3200 tug boats from Hong Kong to Brazil and Panama, delivering two tug boats at each destination. Each tug boat weighed 700 metric tons and all four tug boats were shipped together on one vessel, the MV ''Jumbo Jubilee", of the Dutch Heavy Lift Vessel Owner Jumbo Shipping. The vessel has a combined lifting capacity of 1800 metric tons and the ability to sail with open hatches, which was needed
due to stowage challenges. The biggest challenge was the lifting concept for the tugs and the odd shaped hulls. The tugs are not equipped with lifting lugs. Eventually, a safe lifting concept was developed together with Jumbo Shipping who provided the lifting gear. Blue Water's contractual scope included the design, engineering and fabrication of customised cradles for the tug boats. These were developed by our regional engineering department in Singapore and a shipyard in Doumen, China. The design and strength of the cradles played an important role during the 13,800 nautical mile journey.
Semco prolongs contract Blue Water and Semco Maritime have agreed on a renewal of their current framework agreement meaning that Blue Water will continue to provide logistics services to Semco Maritime throughout 2017. “Blue Water has proved to be a reliable and experienced logistics partner across a broad range of our business areas. They have shown their understanding of supporting a project-based environment like Semco Maritime’s, and their flexible “cando” attitude to meeting the diverse needs of Semco Maritime and our customers’ projects is very much appreciated” says Roderick McNeil, Commercial Director of Wind, Oil and Gas at Semco Maritime. No. 115
“We believe that Blue Water’s network of more than 60 offices and over 40 years of experience in the Oil & Energy industry are essential for the cooperation. Another key factor is our capacity for providing flexible IT solutions which can easily be integrated with our clients’ technology”, says Allan Brodersen, Freight Forwarding Agent Projects at Blue Water.
Rio Oil & Gas Expo In October, this year’s edition of Rio Oil & Gas Expo and Conference was held in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the leading oil and gas industry event in Latin America, promoted by IBP – Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (private, non-profit organisation founded in 1957). The event promotes the development of the Brazilian Oil, Gas and Biofuels industry. Since its first edition in 1982, the conference has helped Rio to become the Brazilian capital of oil, now with 80 per cent of all barrels of oil produced in Brazil, and beyond 50 per cent of the country’s gas production. The expo is an outstanding opportunity for Brazilian and foreign companies to display their products and services. At the event, Blue Water was represented by crew member from our Rio office: Verônica Macedo (Sales), Vinicius Dantas (Oil, Gas & Industrial Projects), Sergio Murilo (Manager Sales Projects) and Rodrigo Faria (Operations Supervisor).
Transport to Germany In September, Blue Water Dusseldorf arranged the stowing, lashing and sea transport of a big digger from the Norwegian port of Nedre Vats to Bremerhaven in Germany. In total, 18 items, mainly oversized with a total weight of 327 tons, the biggest single piece weighing 73 tons. We performed our part of the project in cooperation with our partner NorLines. For the sea voyage from port of Nedre Vats to Bremerhaven, the MV “ Kvitbjoern” of NorLines was engaged. The transport was arranged for our customer UNI INTERNATIONAL/KSP Transport (Project Cargo specialists) in the USA and Ratingen, Germany, who were responsible for the entire transport project from Norway into the USA via Galveston.

Challenging charter job After a period of meetings to fully understand the client’s business and requirements, Blue Water was awarded a charter job for Pipeshield International in Lowestoft, England – a global leader in providing specialised Subsea Pipeline Protection Systems to Oil and Gas majors and Offshore contractors. The shipment consisted of concrete mattress and ancillaries from Montrose, Scotland, to Randaberg and Egersund, Norway. “During the transport, the client requested a change in rotation of discharging ports. Close cooperation and quick decision-making between Blue Water’s office in Aberdeen and our in-house chartering desk made sure that the requirement was met and all cargo was discharged the very same day at both ports in Norway”, says Stewart Greig, General Manager at Blue Water Aberdeen. A job well done and delivered on time to the client’s satisfaction subsequently recommending Blue Water for future projects.
Strengthening our position in Guyana Blue Water has decided to strengthen its position and services in Guyana in South America and has entered into an agreement with RAMPS Logistics covering services to the Oil & Gas Industry. First offshore wind farm in USA In November 2015, Blue Water USA started providing hub logistics services to General Electric (GE) in the Port of Providence for the 30 MW (5 x 6 MW) Block Island Wind Farm, the first offshore wind farm in the United States. The wind farm, built by Deepwater Wind, is located three miles off the coast of Block Island (Rhode Island). “The scope of the services included vessel discharge, heavy lift and storage of turbine components as well as warehouse management and support activities related to the tower assembly work. Blue Water personnel on site in Port of Providence has been working closely with local subcontractors to perform the services”, says Hans Christian Mikkelsen, General Manager in Blue Water New York.
In June, Blue Water discharged the 15 blades from MV “Suomigracht”, loaded in Esbjerg a couple of weeks earlier. Before that, two chartered vessels transported the tower sections from Spain to Port of Providence, of which the last vessel with tower sections, MV “Fairlift”, was discharged in May. Blue Water was also contracted by the wind farm developer, Deepwater Wind, to arrange the transfer to quayside and loadout of components onboard barges from Port of Providence to the offshore location. This phase was completed during a 3-week period in July/August. The Block Island Offshore Wind Farm is scheduled to be fully commissioned before the end of 2016 and is expected
to generate 125,000 megawatt hours of electricity which is more than the Block Island consumption. The excess electric power will feed into the region’s grid on the mainland.

PORT AGENCY
Bridge protection work The Aggersund Bridge is one of three bridges across the Limfjord in the North of Denmark. In connection with protection work on this bridge, Blue Water acted as agent for the vessels supplying materials for this job. “Crushed granite was delivered at a minor port in the Limfjord which is normally used for loading calcium. Due to the draught of only 3.9 metres in Aggersund, the almost 24,000 tons of materials had to be delivered on 15 successive voyages”, explains Agency Manager Mathias Søndergaard from Blue Water’s office in Aalborg, who is pleased with the recognition received in connection with the project.
Extention of agreement T he Por t S er v ice Agreement w it h Schlumberger, which was signed in May 2016, now also covers M/V “Big Orange XVIII”. This means that Blue Water is in charge of full support to the three Schlumberger well stimulation vessels, M/V “Island Centurion”, M/V ”Island Captain” and M/V ”Big Orange XVIII”, calling at Esbjerg in between the offshore operations. Well stimulation is an oil and gas term for using high pressure water and sand to crack a rock formation deep underground. By pumping this fluid into a drilled well, tiny fissures, up to several tenths of an inch wide, open up, which then allow oil
and natural gas resources trapped in tight rocks to flow back through pipes and up to the surface where they are captured for energy use. “Esbjerg is now Schlumberger’s largest vessel hub, and Blue Water provides traditional agency support, stevedoring and customs clearance”, says Agency Manager Peter Gysing Nielsen.

24/7 work in dry dock Blue Water's Agency Department in Brest, France has been very busy during the past three weeks with the beautiful cruise ship "Club Med 2" in dry dock at Damen Shiprepair. “The ship was in dry dock to have certain technical maintenance done. The work was carried out 24/7 during the 3 weeks, keeping us very busy”, explains Frédéric Jullien, Agency Manager in Brest. MV “Club Med 2”, built in 1992 by the Alteliers et Chatiers du Havre, is 187 metres long with five masts of 50 metres deploying no less than 2500 m2 of sails. The ship left Brest on 1 November to go back into her schedule in the Caribbean during the winter.

After a one-year yard stay, with Blue Water acting as port agents, the former drilling rig “Maersk Guardian” left the port of Frederikshavn. “During the stay, Blue Water Frederikshavn acted as Maersk Drilling’s right-hand man taking care of many interesting jobs - among other things warehousing and handling various equipment to and from the rig”, says Agency Manager Mathias Søndergaard from Blue Water Frederikshavn. “Maersk Guardian” arrived at Frederikshavn as a drilling rig, and was during the stay converted into an accommodation
platform. The conversion has generated employment to Blue Water and to several other local companies resulting in many new cooperation partners. “The three colleagues in Blue Water Frederikshavn handle General Cargo and Port Agency on a daily basis and are therefore well equipped for this kind of job and provide services of the highest quality”, says Mathias Søndergaard. After the conversion, “Maersk Guardian” stopped at Lindo, were Blue Water also acted as agent, before heading for its planned location in the North Sea.

Main port Barcelona For the inaugural season, “Harmony of the Seas” cruised the Mediterranean, with Barcelona as main port, until late in the autumn where she relocated to Florida. For that reason, Blue Water Barcelona was heavily involved in various port services; loading from an 80 metre crane, K9 Security, stevedoring and logistics. All pier staff, including K9 Security, were wearing Blue Water logo vests as they were contracted through Blue Water Barcelona. “In Blue Water Spain, we try to develop and put our loop within additional services. The cruise business is a good example, where we can develop services and add value for our customers. Besides ordinary freight by road, sea and air, we offer warehousing and port services, such as assistance to vessels, dry dock and port operations. That way we can customise our services and adapt them to the needs of our clients”, says Amadeu Outeiro, General Manager in Blue Water Barcelona.
The cake was a present to Elco (standing in the middle) and the stevedores for working together as a perfect team.
Thankful client Blue Water Holland was assigned by Royal Caribbean to provide all port services for their cruise vessels in Holland and Belgium in 2016. In connection with each port call, Elco Boelhouwers from Blue Water Rotterdam worked the whole day on the pier to assist the vessel with all logistics needs. “In total, we handled 14 calls of the MV “Celebrity Silhouette” and MV “Azamara Quest”. Elco only missed one call, the day his son was born, which we naturally forgive him”, says Hans Poiesz, Managing Director in Blue Water Rotterdam. To show their gratitude, the chef on board the “Celebrity Silhouette” baked a cake on the day of the last call and asked Elco to come back in 2017.

SMM exhibition Hamburg Together with our Cruise & Marine Logistic Network partners from Italy, England and Germany, Blue Water participated in SMM, Hamburg from 6-9 September. SMM is the world’s leading maritime trade fair, and we enjoyed some busy days meeting many existing as well as potential clients. No. 115
We shared a stand with Blue Water’s exhibition department who was responsible for the transport for the Danish Export Association. As part of the association’s promotional campaign, a tour was arranged in which the Minister for Business and Growth, Troels Lund Poulsen, and other member companies participated.
When Blue Water in Rotterdam solved an urgent transport for the cruise line Silversea, they were helped by a skilled driver from partnering company Vlietrex. Initially, the truck was loaded in Copenhagen in cooperation with Blue Water’s reefer truck division in Esbjerg. Upon arrival at the quayside in Helsinki, Finland, the driver discovered that the forklift on site was not able to move the cargo. However, he found a solution. “The driver really did a great job. We could not load the pallet with the forklift, because the fork was to short and could not reach the loading ramp. But, he managed to turn the truck to the mouth of our loading shell door to make the loading happen”, says Robin Nedumanile, Hotel Stores Manager on board the vessel “Silver Whisper”. After the unloading, Silversea requested another urgent delivery in Aalborg. The driver accepted and took care of that delivery as well. What a great display of cooperation between Blue Water in Esbjerg, Copenhagen, Rotterdam and our partner Vlietrex.

Kurt Skov/Managing Director and Ole B. Ulriksen/former Director of Blue Water Aalborg and Blue Water Greenland.
Reception in Greenland In connection with Ole B. Ulriksen’s departure from Blue Water, an informal reception was held at the Manhattan Restaurant in Nuuk to thank Ole for his long commitment in Greenland and in our Greenland activities. Business relations, representatives from the local business community and friends dropped by to say goodbye to Ole, and at the same time they seized the opportunity to meet the new Blue Water team who will be responsible for the activities in Greenland in future: Jesper Skjoldborg Øraker, Kenneth Skovbjerg Pedersen and Per Holm Nørgaard. It was a great and memorable day. Ole Ulriksen’s farewell reception was a fine occasion for Gyrithe and Kurt Skov to visit Greenland again, seizing the opportunity to call on business connections, friends as well as our offices in Nuuk and Ilulissat. During a visit to a residential home for socially marginalised children and young persons, Gyrithe and Kurt were very impressed by the work contributed by Mælkebøttecentret.

Change of guard Ole Bøgh Ulriksen, who for a number of years has performed the function of Director of Blue Water Aalborg, Blue Water Greenland and Business Development Manager for our Greenland activities, has decided to leave Blue Water. Ole has accepted a new and very interesting job as Managing Director of the present ISS Grønland. Ole is a well-known face in Greenland as he and his family lived there when he was previously in charge of Blue Water’s Greenland offices. In his 35-year career in Blue Water, Ole has contributed great efforts. Due to Ole’s resignation, organisational changes have taken place. Per Holm Noergaard has been installed in a position of overall responsible for the offices in Aarhus, Aalborg, Frederikshavn and Greenland. Per has lived in Greenland twice. At one time as General Manager of the Nuuk office. With his background, Per will bring both experience and know-how within the Greenland market into the teamwork with Jesper Skjoldborg Øraker, Kenneth Skovbjerg Pedersen and the other colleagues involved in Greenland. Jesper Skjoldborg Øraker will continue in his present position as General Manager of our Greenland offices. Kenneth Skovbjerg Pedersen will take over the role of Business Development Manager for the activities across the Greenland offices. Preparing for certifications Blue Water’s Singapore office is preparing for becoming certified - according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 – by the end of first quarter 2017. “Many companies only wish to cooperate with ISO registered vendors to ensure that Health, Safety, Environment and Quality are complied with. The major reason for us to obtain three certifications is to continue or increase our business with the clients and to maintain effective operations. With the coming certifications, we will also improve access to potential clients”, says Jason Goh, Managing Director Regional, Asia Pacific. Jason and his team are being guided by the HSSEQ department at the headquarters in Esbjerg and will receive another visit in February where our Singapore colleagues will attend two internal training sessions before their final exam.
Managers Meeting ensures development Blue Water's General Managers from all over the world participated in the annual General Managers Meeting at the headquarters in Esbjerg in September. The managers meet to discuss strategy, new development, market opportunities and to share knowledge. "This event is a very important part of Blue Water's development and has been for many years. We want to keep developing our business in a positive way and No. 115
we can use this meeting to discuss how we want to take Blue Water even further in the future, says Kurt Skov, Founder and Managing Director. Meeting with colleagues from other parts of the world is also a good opportunity for social networking. It has always been an important factor for Blue Water's culture that everyone cooperates across business areas, offices and geographical borders. 15
BLUE WATER SPIRIT
Happy intern in Aarhus Lærke Kamp Pedersen has spent a week as an intern at the office in Aarhus. She enjoyed her stay. “Working in the different departments was the best experience because I learned how they function and also how the different departments need to work together to solve an assignment or a problem”, says Lærke. “The staff members I met were very friendly to me and talked and explained what they were doing in their jobs. They were all very nice and gave me a friendly welcome”.
Business Leaugue Blue Water in Hirtshals has two teams participating in the local table tennis club, B75’s, Business League. Some may think there is room for improvement as one of our teams is now, after three rounds, in second place, while our other team takes eighth place – out of ten participating teams. From a business point of view, the explanation might be that two of our good customers, Seaco and Kølemadsen, are also participating in the competition. It is always a balancing act, going all out to win or letting the customers win – or maybe it is just because our talent does not go far. In any case, all participants have fun and are already looking forward to the next round.
Early arrival by the Crown Prince “You are a bit early – we are busy”, said Kurt Skov, Founder and Managing Director of Blue Water, with a twinkle in his eye when he welcomed H.R.H Crown Prince Frederik at Blue Water’s headquarters in Esbjerg in September. The Crown Prince visited Esbjerg - including the companies Maersk, Semco and Blue Water - as part of the celebration programme for First50 (50th anniversary for the first oil discovery in the North Sea). What Kurt Skov did not know was that the Crown Prince
had shortened his stay in Esbjerg by 20 minutes and therefore arrived at Blue Water earlier than expected. The situation was turned into fun and the Crown Prince and the Mayor of Esbjerg, Johnny Søtrup, were given a guided tour of the building during which the Crown Prince had a brief talk with Morten Eskildsen from our O&E department, who has recently completed Copenhagen Triathlon. The visit finished with a presentation of Blue Water.
Gammelnok's Autumn excursion
Bronze to Blue Water Our colleagues at the office in Sonderborg have sent us this picture from the official Danish Championship for J/80 sailing boats, in which the boat sponsored by Blue Water and 21 other boats participated. Blue Water’s crew - skipper Erling Ewers, Kim Løndal, Søren Mikkelsen and Peter Lindum – did well in the race and took bronze. The crew is happy for the support from Blue Water. The sponsorship is solely spent on the maintenance and repair of the boat. The cost-intensive part are the sails. Congratulations to the crew on the result.

Saturday 1 October, Blue Water's senior club, “Gammelnok" went on their annual autumn excursion, a guided tour of Lake Filsø. It was a very interesting tour during which we received information about the big lake (915 hectares), which re-establishment started in 2012 after 60 years of being farm land. Today, the huge
re-established lake sets a record for being exceptional in Denmark in respect of flora. Some species of birds have also returned to the area, including the sea eagle. The excursion finished with afternoon tea/coffee at Henne Mølle Aa Seaside Hotel, which was designed by the famous Danish architect, Poul Henningsen (PH). December 2016

On 20.1.2017, it will be 30 years since Anne-Grethe Biehl/Blue Water Esbjerg joined Blue Water. Over the years, the Reception and now the Marketing department have enjoyed the benefits of her always good spirits. Anne-Grethe is a real language geek who easily becomes absorbed in her translations. Years back, she worked all night on a tender, resulting in a very tired girl talking nonsense the next morning so that her colleagues had to send her home to get some sleep. Anne-Grethe has a very sweet tooth, she never says no to sweets, chocolate, cake – any kind of sweets. At home, she relaxes together with her cat, Tiger, now and then to the sound of bagpipe music. By the way, she used to play the bagpipe herself. She enjoys going on vacation - combined with a painting course if the occasion arises. And you will often see her visiting the small island of Fano on her bicycle.
Rhona Linehan/Blue Water Dublin will celebrate her 25th anniversary on 1.3.2017. in her long career with Blue Water, Rhona has mostly specialised in the Reefer Trade and she is highly respected within the industry as is her profound knowledge. Rhona is the General Manager of the Dublin office. She is a very strong and hard-working lady who cherishes her office and colleagues very much – so much that she once walked into the office on a burglar and chased and scared him off. That is Rhona dedicated! Rhona is married to Peter and they have a son, Elliott, who is seven years young. Rhona is a big golf enthusiast However, Elliott keeps her busy in her free time, so she does not get to play much anymore, but we reckon she would give some of the self-proclaimed semi-pro lads at Blue Water a run for their money. .

Richard Dunning/Blue Water Manchester will celebrate his 25th anniversary on 17.2.2017. Richard has had various roles on exports, but currently spends most of his time working on different projects with a key customer involved in the fashion industry. He is a keen Manchester City fan so driving to our office in Trafford Park (our office address) every morning must be a source of great joy for him. Richard and his wife, Rachel, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary back in June by taking a holiday in Cuba together with their daughter Amy. A couple of weeks before his 25th anniversary with Blue Water, Richard will also celebrate his 50th birthday - so, plenty of crusty bread and cakes for the colleagues in February. 20
nster.
Steve Townsend/Blue Water Manchester will celebrate his 20 th anniversary on 1.1.2017. Steve is mainly involved in Sales, but still lends his skills to a bit of Project Work when required. He is from London and is a rather fanatical supporter of Chelsea. Strangely enough he is the only Chelsea fan at Blue Water Manchester, but luckily for him, he has an ally or two at the London office of our key customer, Faerch Plast. Steve is one of our most health-conscious colleagues. Every few weeks, he gives up smoking, drinking, excessive sugar in his tea etc. Steve lives with his wife Lorraine on the outskirts of Liverpool so he can go and see a good game of football.
Claus Glass/Blue Water Esbjerg will celebrate his 10th anniversary on 1.1.2017. Claus was employed to form part of a Rotation Team, where he should look after our ro/ro terminal every third week handling containers. The rest of the time, Claus should take part in the usual terminal routines. Claus is still part of this rotation. He is a nice and quiet guy who takes pride in doing a good job. Claus is in a relationship and he has three children. He likes spending his free time running and exercising in the fitness centre, going to concerts or just relaxing and enjoying life.

01.01.07–01.01.2017
Torben Nyborg/Blue Water Esbjerg will celebrate his 10th anniversary on 1.1.2017. During his entire Blue Water career, Torben has formed part of our Key Account team in Esbjerg. Torben once pursued new challenges outside Blue Water and was for a short time employed with J. Lauritzen’s Eftf. Fortunately for us, he felt homesick and returned to the paddock again. Torben is and has always been a competent and reliable colleague dedicated to his job. Recently, he has lent a helping hand to our exhibition department moving empties and packing exhibition goods in connection with an exhibition in Hamburg, Germany. Torben is married to Anne-Sophie and the couple has two children, Cecilie and Christian. Torben’s great passion is golf. At Monday mornings, when his colleagues discuss football, Torben does a google search on the weekend’s golf results.

Lisbeth Hemmingsen/Blue Water Odense was employed to our Key Account department in Odense on 1.3.2007. With her open and positive mind, Lisbeth soon became a popular colleague. In 2012, she took charge of Key Accounts and controlled her colleagues and our clients with an iron hand until 2016, when it was time to move on to new challenges in our Tender Group. Lisbeth’s family includes her husband, Mads, and their teenage sons, Laurits and Anton. Together they have spent many summer holidays in Italy – and they have also been to India and the US. Lisbeth supports her sons’ football interest – selling lottery tickets and well as acting as driver and cheerleader. She is also a genuine doctor’s wife appreciating classical values such as visits to the theatre and opera, real newspapers, good (Italian) wine and literature.

Morten Jensen/Blue Water Aarhus will celebrate his 10th anniversary on 12.3.2017. Morten joined Blue Water in 2011 through our acquisition of the company Eurouter. He soon felt at home as part of our Aarhus team and it proved to be the perfect match for both Morten and Blue Water. During recent years, Morten has further developed his unsurpassed flair for servicing and sweet talking the clients – in particular the female part. Morten is a fun guy – always making witty remarks, however, varying in quality. Furthermore, Morten is always ready to lend a helping hand. He will do almost anything for a lukewarm Star (beer) and when visiting the local pub with his friends, he will be in his element. Most importantly, when it comes to his job with Blue Water, Morten has exellent business abilities – a highly appreciated gift.

Erling Elmstrøm/Blue Water Aarhus will celebrate his 10th anniversary on 19.3.2017. According to his birth certificate, his name is Erling, but everybody calls him Elmer. Elmer was originally employed to attend to Export Sweden, but was after a short period transferred to Import Sweden. For the recent six-seven years, he has performed the function of Coordinator on all administrative matters. Due to Elmer’s past career as a Truck Driver, he also acts as right-hand man for his team in relation to external truck drivers/hauliers. In addition, Elmer controls the trailer fleet of the Nordic department in connection with service checks/renewals etc. and he is also the office jack of all trades. Keeping pets has never been a possibility in Elmer’s mind. However, when young Louise came into his life, Elmer’s firm principles were turned upside down.

Steen Hartvigsen/Blue Water Esbjerg will celebrate his 10th anniversary on 19.3.2017. Steen originally served his apprenticeship at Blue Water’s head office where he started as Trainee in 1994. In 1999, Steen moved on to new challenges outside Blue Water, but returned to the paddock in 2007 to a job as Project Coordinator on the then Altinex offshore project. When this assignment was completed, Steen joined our Wind Logistics team, which he is still part of. Steen visits the fitness centre (if he remembers) and he has the wryest sense of humour with an extremely pessimistic aspect to the vast amusement of his colleagues. Steen is married to Louise and the couple has two children; Alberte aged six and Halfdan aged ten. No. 115
Heins Christensen/Blue Water Esbjerg will celebrate his 10th anniversary on 26.3.2017. During his 10 years, in Blue Water’s IT department, Heins has been involved in almost all aspects of IT. In his early days, the roles in the IT team were more versatile and he was what we call an All-rounder. Today, Heins is the firm rock in IT Operations primarily involved in Economy (AX), Data Bases and Telephone Systems. Heins’ popularity is evident. When he has been round to Blue Water’s offices and they have an IT problem afterwards, they will only talk to Heins. When he is off duty, Heins is busy spending time with his family: his wife, four children and a minor zoo. In addition, he is addicted to football as coach and as an active player.
