APRIL 2017 PEO STRI, Team Orlando community mourns loss of two leaders The Program Executive Office, Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) family, comprising current and former members of the organization, received the overwhelmingly sad news that two of its former leaders passed away: Major General Francisco Espaillat, then a colonel, served as a Project Manager for PEO STRI; and Major General (Ret.) John Michitsch, then a brigadier general, who, in 1993, became the first general officer to lead the Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM), later to become PEO STRI. »CONTINUE READING

Listening to Michael Merritt talk about his experiences, it seems his new assignment as deputy technical director for Naval Air Center Warfare Training Systems Division is the perfect fit for him. While attending the 2017 Symposium on Science, Technology and Advanced Robotics, an interdisciplinary team of 12 cadets and faculty visited Team Orlando, starting their visit at ARL-Orlando. EDC gets name change, now Orlando Economic Partnership The Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, a Team Orlando member and strong advocate for the modeling, simulation and training industry, has a new name — the Orlando Economic Partnership. The name for the new integrated entity, which resulted in the merger of the Central Florida Partnership and the Orlando Economic Development Commission, was ratified by the full board at the first meeting at the Orlando Science Center. »CONTINUE READING
