ACC Orlando PALT meeting PM TRASYS PALT meeting Feb. 14 Partnership 3, Room 321 A/B 9 am to 10 am
In October 2017, the United States Army Research Laboratory will commemorate a 25-year anniversary of collaboration and innovation resulting in worldchanging contributions of science, technology and analysis to the Department of the Army. To commemorate a quarter-century of scientific achievement and collaboration, ARL is launching “ARL25,” a yearlong, coordinated initiative of events, communications and partnership activities to engage government and private sector partners, increase public awareness of ARL’s importance to the nation, and build on the foundation of scientific innovation that will ensure the United States maintains its enviable position as home of the world’s premier laboratory for land forces.

Team Orlando Collaboration Award welcomes entries for 2017 recognition After a great response to last year’s introduction of the Team Orlando Collaboration Award, we are very excited to see what 2017 will bring! The Collaboration Award is given to a project or program that demonstrates the core mission of Team Orlando, and exemplifies a greatness for collaboration in the area of modeling, simulation and training, ultimately working together to prepare and strengthen our nation’s warfighters. Last year’s winner, Squad Overmatch Study, was a true representation of what it means to work together. Squad Overmatch is a crawl-walk-run integrated training approach that helps train warfighters in a collective and immersive environment in the areas of judgment development, decision making, team leadership, communication skills, and the mental models that they need to draw from in stressful tactical situations.

New virtual maintenance trainer plays critical role in keeping UH-72A Lakota Helicopter airborne By Rick Gregory, PEO STRI Strategic Communications Support Staff
There’s a saying in the aircraft maintenance world that “You can teach a monkey to fly an aircraft, but not to fix it!” When it comes to maintenance on the Army’s latest light utility helicopter, the $8.56 million UH-72A Lakota, the Army isn’t monkeying around in ensuring anyone putting the wrenches to the high-tech engine know exactly what they are doing. The Army National Guard (ANG) was the recipient of the majority of the more than 300 delivered UH72A helicopters, and initially relied on experienced aircraft maintenance contractors to maintain the fleet. Subsequently, the Army decided to shift the maintenance responsibility to Soldiers who serve in the military occupational specialty of 15T, helicopter repairer.
