In the mid-2000s, Granite decided to move away from the concrete paving business in Southern California in favor of other more profitable, trending specialties. After extensive, favorable market research, Granite decided to renew their interests in concrete paving in Southern California in 2018. They

hired Jon Hamilton on initially as a project manager, estimating, and quality control engineer in May 2018.
