MONDAYS

FRENCH CLUB

Mme. Linda Cooke

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $155 | Tenth Age

French Club is all about creativity and fun - from donning their berets and painting like Monet to creating their own French bistro, students will participate in crafts, games and activities that relate to the French culture and traditions. This club is only for Tenth Age students currently taking French class.

DISNEY MUSICAL

Ms. Carolina Mills

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $155 | Eighth - Tenth Age

In this club, we will watch portions of a variety of Disney Channel movie musicals, followed by fun activities inspired by the films. Some of the movies we’ll enjoy include High School Musical, Teen Beach Movie, Camp Rock, and Lemonade Mouth. Activities will include sing-alongs or karaoke, learning choreography from iconic dance routines, performing scenes, and creating and performing an original scene or “what happens next” in groups. At the end of the club, we’ll invite parents to watch the kids perform some of the dances and scenes they’ve worked on during the sessions.

DARLING DOLLS

Each week, we’ll create a variety of dolls, including paper dolls and outfits, wooden peg mermaid dolls, fairy dolls, and even a foldable dollhouse. Students are also welcome to bring their favorite doll along to join in the fun!

STORYBOOK ADVENTURES

Unleash your child’s imagination with Storybook Adventures! This engaging club for 5-6 year olds brings beloved children’s books to life through interactive readings, creative crafts, and imaginative play. Each week features a new story and exciting activities that foster language development, creativity, and social skills. Join us for a fun-filled journey into the world of storytelling!

SENSORY STEM

Let’s unlock your child’s senses to play and learn with STEM! Sensory STEM play club will use fun, hands-on activities to introduce your child to science, technology, engineering, and math. Using their senses like touch, sight, sound, and smell your child will explore, create, and learn all while having fun with friends.

JEWELRY MAKING

We will explore various jewelry-making techniques including, clay beads, paper beads, necklaces, and lots of bracelets!

WIFFLE BALL

Players will be practicing the basics of hitting, pitching, and catching, while learning the rules of wiffle ball in a fun and competitive environment.

CHOIR CLUB

Ms. Holly Florian

Choir Club will provide a fun environment for students to develop their singing, musicianship, dictation, and ability to blend and harmonize with others. In addition to learning a variety of choral repertoire from around the world, we will also play fun singing games and do some folk dancing. If your child loves music class, they will love choir club! No previous choir experience is required, and there will not be an audition. All materials will be provided.

MATH IN NATURE

Does your child love solving puzzles, cracking codes, and thinking outside the box? Join the Numbers in Nature Math Club, where math comes to life through outdoor adventures. Through engaging problem-solving activities, logic puzzles, hands-on games, and computation challenges, students will strengthen their critical thinking skills while building confidence in math. This club is designed for curious minds who enjoy tackling tricky problems and working collaboratively with peers while connecting with the natural world.

MARTIAL ARTS CLUB

Master Quick

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $285 | Fifth - Seventh Age

Students will work with Master Quick to learn a variety of skills through drills, routine, and “mat chart”. Skills include focus, balance, coordination, memory, discipline, control, stranger safety, confidence, sportsmanship, and listening.

DIRECTED DRAWING & POTTERY CLUB

Everyone can be an artist! Join Directed Drawing and Pottery to discover your hidden talents! Directed Drawing is a powerful tool for enhancing students’ learning and creativity. By following these step-by-step instructions, kids will create drawings that explore their attention to detail and their spatial awareness, while continuing to develop their listening and fine motor skills! Pottery will help build a student’s hand coordination, problem solving skills, and creativity! I can’t wait to see you there!

PLAY TO LEARN GAME CLUB

From Bingo to board games, students will learn strategy, sharing, and practice taking turns all while having fun!

SQUASH

Mrs. Erin Hollander

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $300 | Sixth - Eighth Age

Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Agers of all levels are invited to learn the fundamentals of squash with Mrs. Hollander on Tuesday afternoons. We will learn how to properly swing, keep score, and play matches as we elevate our game each week. All equipment is included; However, students will need to wear non-marking shoes while on the squash courts.

PAINTING CLUB

Ms. Gracie Sanders

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $220 | Fifth - Sixth Age

Join our Art Club, where we’ll dive into spring-themed arts and crafts, including watercolor, tempera painting, salt painting, and more to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces! Some days will feature step-by-step instructions, other days will focus on group projects, and there will also be plenty of opportunities for kids to unleash their creativity and make something entirely their own.

CODING

Students will go on a journey through Scratch, a basic coding program, with a series of projects and games that introduce the core elements of Scratch and foundational coding skills. A school issued Chromebook is required for this club. This club is intended for students who have little or no experience with Scratch.

SWIFTIE CLUB

We are “Enchanted” to invite you to be part of The Swiftie Squad, a Taylor Swift fan club. We are going to go on a grand adventure each week as we travel back in time through 18 years of music one era at a time. We will have “The Best Day” making awesome crafts, making friendship bracelets, and of course, singing and dancing!

WATERCOLOR AND MORE

Let’s explore the world of watercolors! In this club, we will learn different painting techniques and use various materials to paint with. Students will be able to experiment and learn how challenging and rewarding this paint can be.

SPORTS MIX

Learn and play a variety of sports and games! Whether you’re in it for the competition or just fun, you’ll have the chance to challenge your sports skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship through drills, gameplay, and friendly competition.

CRAFTERNOONS

Ms. Hilary Nelson & Ms. Madelyn Mehl

Students will spend the afternoon crafting and creating to their hearts’ content. With a little imagination, the crafting possibilities using upcycled and unique craft materials are endless! This club will promote artistic expression, environmental education and resourcefulness through creative reuse of donated and found materials and treasures! All crafts will be springtime based, and therefore different from the crafts done in the winter!

DRAWING ANIMALS, REAL AND MYTHICAL

Are you curious about drawing? Do you love animals? We will explore drawing all kinds of animals, from dogs and cats to unicorns and dragons. Everyone with any level of drawing experience is welcome!

LEGO CLUB

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $220 | Sixth & Seventh Age

Here at Calvert, the “Lego Club” is a wonderful way for Sixth and Seventh Age students to work together as architects and engineers! Students will be interacting and working on social skills as they complete building challenges, work together to build models, and develop and reinforce their play and social skills. Some of the challenges will include building Lego mazes, working together to create a Lego bridge, forming Lego words and numbers, and free building based on color! It is a great time for old and new friends to come together to build and create!

CODING

Ms. Kathy Jefferson

In this club students will learn the basics of coding through hands on activities. We will learn how to use Dash Wonder robots to complete different tasks each week. In order to allow for many students to learn about coding, please do not sign up for this club if you participated last year.

ANIMAL LOVERS BOOK CLUB

The Animal Lovers Book Club is an exciting group for fifth agers who adore animals and stories! Each week, we’ll read animal themed books, explore different creatures, and share stories about how our favorite furry, scaly, or feathered friends. After reading about our featured animal, we’ll create crafts, artwork, or play games related to that animal.

COMIC CLUB

Are you a fan of comic books? Do you like to draw or sketch your own characters? Have you ever wanted to make your own comic book? If you answered “Yes!” to any of these questions, join Calvert’s Comic Club with Ms. D’Andrea on Wednesday afternoons to write, draw, and publish your own comic book.

HORSING AROUND

Horsing Around is a fun and exciting club where you can learn all about horses through games, art activities, stories, and interactive play! You’ll get to create beautiful horse drawings, play horse-themed games with your friends, listen to fun horse stories, and even pretend to ride and care for your favorite horses. It’s a great way to explore the wonderful world of horses while having lots of fun!

THE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC

It’s time to rock around the clock! Discover the history of rock and roll and have some fantastic fun, just like the rockers and rollers of yesteryear. Have you ever thought you would be in a “Kazoo Band?” That’s just one of the many attractions of this club. Learn about the roots of amazing music, from The Beatles British Invasion of the United States to Chuck Berry. Have you ever thought you would “twist and shout?” Or sing “Surf City?” or listen to “Black Birds Singing in the Dead of Night?”. Innovative craft sessions, like making your own jewelry and much more. You are going to smile to this beat. Come along and sing a song. Rock and roll awaits you!

CHESS CLUB

Magnus Chess Academy Coaches

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $310 | Seventh - Tenth Age

Learn chess with Magnus Academy, five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

SPARK - MY FIRST PIGGY BANK

Spark Business Academy Staff

Please note - this is a 5 week club and is offered in two sessions. You may register for session 1 that meets weekly from 3/27 - 4/24 OR session 2 that meets weekly from 5/1 - 5/29.

Earn, save, send, donate! Through math games and hands-on activities kids learn about these and other key financial concepts like money, budgeting and saving. Students will also learn the basic concepts of philanthropy and donating to charity. And, everyone will make their very own piggy bank to take home.

SQUASH

Coach Patrick Bedore

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $300 | Eighth - Tenth Age

Learn the basics of squash on our courts with Squash Pro Patrick Bedore. Students will get the opportunity to play squash and learn the correct fundamentals of grip, swing, and movement. All materials are included; students will need to wear non-marking shoes on the courts.

LITTLE DOCTOR SCHOOL

Little Medical School Instructor

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $300 | Seventh - Ninth Age

Please note this is a 6 week club. Dates of this club are: 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1. Through role-play and activities, students will learn the key responsibilities of a doctor and explore the heart, lungs, and digestion. This 6 week course will allow students to use real medical instruments (stethoscope, reflex hammer, and blood pressure cuff) and practice scrubbing, suturing, and tying knots like a real surgeon.

LACROSSE

Coach Shure

3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $285 | Fifth - Seventh Age

Young players will learn lacrosse skills, as well as movement and hand-eye coordination. Each session will consist of fun, age-appropriate drills and games that enhance the students’ skills and knowledge of the game. (Equipment required: water bottle, mouth guard, gloves, lacrosse stick.)
