LITTLE DOCTOR SCHOOL
Little Medical School Instructor
3:15 - 4:30 P.M. | Cost: $300 | Fifth-Seventh Age
Through role-play and activities, students will learn the key responsibilities of a doctor and explore the heart, lungs, and digestion. Students will use real medical instruments (stethoscope, reflex hammer, and blood pressure cuff) and practice scrubbing, suturing, and tying knots like a real surgeon. This is a six week course which will run from 12/2-1/27 and will be followed by another Little Medical School offering.

After “adopting” their very own plush puppy, students will role play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian, including how to properly perform a nose-to-tail exam. These future veterinarians will learn how to sew stitches, remove ticks, make healthy treats, and vaccinate their dog. Little Vet School is a six week course which will run from 2/3-3/10.
MOVE AND GROOVE

Come join our movement club where we will be doing different activities ranging from dance lessons (jazz, modern, square dance, and line dance) to group choreography to hula-hooping, jump roping, and other fun active indoor games aimed to enhance teamwork and creativity.
FRENCH CLUB

French Club is all about creativity and fun! From donning their berets and painting like Monet, to creating their own French bistro, students will participate in crafts, games, and activities that relate to the French culture and traditions. This club is for Ninth Age students currently taking French class.
LEGO ARCHITECTS

Come join the “Lego Architects” for the chance to learn while having fun with Legos! Each week we will have a new challenge involving Legos that will introduce concepts of engineering, architecture, and physics. In addition to learning these new concepts, this club will help foster innovation, self-confidence, and problem solving skills! Let’s build with Legos!
BOYS LACROSSE

This club is for aspiring lacrosse players. The focus is on lacrosse skills, coordination, and proper footwork. We will also integrate real game concepts and live play to reinforce these concepts. Players should have at least 1-2 seasons of experience (clinic or youth league). Equipment required: water bottle, mouth guard, helmet, gloves, lacrosse stick.

Students will work with Master Quick to learn a variety of skills through drills, routine, and “mat chart”. Skills include focus, balance, coordination, memory, discipline, control, stranger safety, confidence, sportsmanship, and listening.
WINTER PAINTING CLUB

Come join our art club where we will do winter themed arts and crafts, from water coloring, tempera painting, salt paintings, ornaments, and more to create unique works of art! Some club days will follow step-by-step, some will be a group project and some days will allow the kids to create something entirely unique.

Everyone can be an artist! Join Directed Drawing and Pottery to discover your hidden talents! Directed Drawing is a powerful tool for enhancing students’ learning and creativity. By following these step-by-step instructions, kids will create drawings that explore their attention to detail and their spatial awareness, while continuing to develop their listening and fine motor skills! Pottery will help build a student’s hand coordination, problem solving skills, and creativity! I can’t wait to see you there!

WEAVING CLUB

Students will weave doggy beds and Minecraft characters out of yarn, mini blankets, pillows, and yarn creations using the weaving technique. They will use different types of looms from cardboard to hula-hoops.

We are “Enchanted” to invite you to be part of The Swiftie Squad, a Taylor Swift fan club. We are going to go on a grand adventure each week as we travel back in time through 18 years of music one era at a time. We will have “The Best Day” making awesome crafts, making friendship bracelets, and of course, singing and dancing!

Here at Calvert, the “Lego Club” is a wonderful way for Sixth and Seventh Age students to work together as architects and engineers! Students will be interacting and working on social skills as they complete building challenges, work together to build models, and develop and reinforce their play and social skills. Some of the challenges will include building Lego mazes, working together to create a Lego bridge, forming Lego words and numbers, and free building based on color! It is a great time for old and new friends to come together to build and create!

No previous choir experience is required, and there will not be an audition. All materials will be provided.

Learn chess with Magnus Academy, five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.
SQUASH

Learn the basics of squash on our courts with Squash Pro Patrick Bedore. Students will get the opportunity to play squash and learn the correct fundamentals of grip, swing, and movement. All materials are included; students will need to wear non-marking shoes on the courts.
