SUMMER AT CALVERT 2022 Week 1: Monday, June 13 - Friday, June 17 Week 2: Monday, June 20 - Friday, June 24 Week 3: Monday, June 27 - Friday, July 1 Week 4: Tuesday, July 5 - Friday July 8 Camp Day: 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Extended day option* 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. *Additional fee of $60 per week per child.

Summer at Calvert seeks to foster all campers’ creativity, imagination, athleticism, and sense of community in a safe and familiar environment. A full-day camp for boys and girls, Summer at Calvert is open to Calvert and non-Calvert families. There is something for all lower and middle schoolaged children at Calvert in the summer!

Summer at Calvert camps will ensure that every possible precaution is taken in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. QUESTIONS?

Week 1: June 13 - 17

Mermaid Maidens Dance Camp Ages 5-7 • Ms. Olivia Kowalski • $395 Students will dive into a week full of ballet and tap dance classes celebrating the music from The Little Mermaid. Crafts and story time centered around the theme will also be incorporated throughout this underwater journey.

Ultimate Kids Camp Ages 5-7 • Mrs. Megan DeLorbe, Ms. Caroline Marris, Mrs. Sarah Travers • $395 A fun, adventurous day camp for our youngest campers. Campers will enjoy daily themes, arts and crafts, science experiments, outdoor activities, water play, and making new friends! Campers entering Fifth Age or Kindergarten through first grade are welcomed to join our exciting full-day program!

Fun with French Ages 7-9 • Mrs. Rona Mattocks • $395 This camp offers a deep dive into French art, architecture, and history. Students will have an opportunity to create their own impressionist paintings, sketch buildings from medieval to modern times, and learn about famous figures such as Napoleon and Louis IV. This camp will be conducted in English.

Basketball for Girls Ages 7-9 • Mrs. Kim Daly & Mr. Jason Till • $395 Campers will learn and practice the fundamentals of basketball through individualized skill work and fun games. Some skills we will cover include dribbling, ball handling, shooting, types of cuts, moves to the basket, rebounding, passing, and defensive positioning. Each girl will see improvement in her own skills and learn many drills that she can practice on her own for continued improvement while also learning to love the sport of basketball.



Week 1: June 13 - 17

Little Veterinarian School Ages 7-9 • Instructor from Little Medical School of Baltimore • $445 Little Veterinarian School encourages elementary school children to role play and explore the exciting world of veterinarians. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids adopt their own animal (stuffed animal), learn how to take care of a pet and use real veterinary instruments. Children will experience a mini vet school experience complete with a white coat ceremony and graduation.

Magical Mix-Up Musical Ages 7-12 • Ms. Alexis Tantau • $395 Aspiring actors, singers, dancers, and writers: This camp is your chance to shine! Over the course of five days, we’ll go on a whirlwind creative musical theatre adventure. Inspired by favorite showtunes, participants will get the chance to develop new storylines that connect songs from different shows, adding brand new dialogue, choreography, and costumes--all building up to a performance at the end of the week! Along the way, we’ll play theatre games and explore what it’s like to be behind the scenes of a real Broadway musical.

Marine Biology Camp Ages 7-9 • Ms. Hannah Palmatary • $395 Calling all ocean explorers! We will dive into the study of marine biology through interactive projects, games, and activities that allow us to understand life under the waves. Campers will leave with newfound knowledge of marine biology along with an understanding of human impact on this unique ecosystem.


Tennis Camp Ages 7-12 • Coach Michael Cianos • $445 Tennis camp this summer is open to all developmental levels. Children will learn to enhance their game though a combination of skills, strategies, and matches each day. Teamwork and good sportsmanship will be crucial skills as campers work together to compete against opponents.

Coach AB’s Sports Camp Ages 10-12 • Mr. Josh Angulo-Bartlett • $395 Join Coach AB for some summer sports fun! Campers will work on skills and drills at the beginning of the day and then play games such as flag football, basketball, and baseball after lunch. The teams will be co-ed and evenly split based on ability shown during our skills and drills portion of the camp. Sportsmanship is paramount during this camp, and awards will be presented to the campers who show the best sportsmanship at the end of the week.

Junior Picasso Art Camp Ages 10-12 • Ms. Sarah Dennison • $395 This fun-filled art camp will focus on a famous artist each day. We will learn about each artist and discuss their style, movement, and our impressions. Students will then create a piece of art inspired by each artist. We will look at Georgia O’Keefe, Picasso, Kandinsky, Andy Warhol, Dale Chihuly, and others!

Polynesian Princess Dance Camp Ages 5-7 • Ms. Olivia Kowalski • $395 Students will sail into a week of ballet and tap dance classes celebrating the music from Moana. Crafts and story time centered around the theme will also be incorporated throughout this adventurous week.

Ultimate Kids Camp Ages 5-7 • Mrs. Megan DeLorbe, Ms. Caroline Marris, Mrs. Sarah Travers • $395 A fun, adventurous day camp for our youngest campers. Campers will enjoy daily themes, arts and crafts, science experiments, outdoor activities, water play, and making new friends! Chess Camp Ages 7-9 • Instructor from Silver Knights Chess • $445 In Chess Camp, campers play and learn about chess with Silver Knights! We’ve taught 100,000 children, including national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn and have fun! Campers are broken up in groups by skill level. Activities include learning the rules, openings, tactics, endgames, studying master games, and playing lots of games against other campers.

World Geography & Map-Making Camp Ages 10-12 • Mrs. Rona Mattocks • $395 This camp offers a chance for students to sharpen their knowledge of geography. We will practice identifying countries around the world in daily geography “bowl” competitions. In addition, students will choose a country or region of interest and make their own unique maps using clay, paper, paint, and other natural materials.





Week 3: June 27 - July 1

Darling Dolls Camp Ages 5-7 • Mrs. Megan DeLorbe • $395 Darling Dolls camp is an opportunity for your child to celebrate the joy of dolls. Each day we will craft a different type of doll, including paper dolls, clothespin dolls, etc.

Ultimate Kids Camp Ages 5-7 • Ms. Caroline Marris & Mrs. Sarah Travers • $395 A fun, adventurous day camp for our youngest campers. Campers will enjoy daily themes, arts and crafts, science experiments, outdoor activities, water play, and making new friends! Campers entering Fifth Age or Kindergarten through first grade are welcomed to join our exciting full-day program!

Future Engineers: STEM Camp Ages 7-9 • Ms. Kathie Jefferson • $395 This summer you could have the chance to learn about the engineering and design process through a variety of STEM activities. Each day will be themed with many science, technology, engineering and math activities for the campers to collaborate on. Campers will create water slides, design a device to make chocolate melt faster, learn coding on tablets, and so much more!

Little Medical School Ages 7-9 • Instructor from Little Medical School of Baltimore • $445 Little Medical School of Baltimore brings medicine, science, and the importance of health to your children in an entertaining and fun way! Through interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, children learn how the body and organs work, how to use real doctors’ instruments, and simulate a mini medical school experience complete with a white coat ceremony and Hippocratic oath and graduation.


Whiz Kids Ages 7-9 • Instructor from Little Scholars • $445 Join us on a science discovery mission! We will explore the world of science through everyday objects, experiments and encounters. This camp will enhance the STEM education philosophies with a big punch of fun. Physics, biology, chemistry, geology, astronomy, and zoology will all be covered in this exciting new camp program.

Football Skills & Drills Ages 10-12 • Coach John Babcock • $395 Football skills and drills is designed to teach aspiring football players to learn skills that will increase their confidence on the football field. Each day of camp will include ball skills, off-ball skills, contact drills, “chalk talk,” and football fitness.

That’s Gross Ages 10-12 • Instructor from Little Scholars • $445 Get your hands dirty and hold your nose! This hands-on camp will combine anatomy, physiology, and chemistry to help you understand the way your body works. Make fake blood, discover how sugar causes cavities, and find out why we burp. You’ll have your grown-ups saying “YUCK!”




Week 4: July 5 - 8 Ultimate Kids Camp Ages 5-7 • Ms. Caroline Marris • $315 A fun, adventurous day camp for our youngest campers. Campers will enjoy daily themes, arts and crafts, science experiments, outdoor activities, water play, and making new friends! Campers entering Fifth Age or Kindergarten through first grade are welcomed to join our exciting full-day program!

Enchanted Engineering Ages 7-9 • Instructor from Little Scholars • $355 Once upon a time, our favorite storybook characters found themselves in sticky situations, and we can help! Through STEAM and engineering principals, we will build a house to save the three little pigs, design pulleys and levers to help Rapunzel, and much more! In this hands-on class, children will discover how they save the world and create their very own enchanted ending.


Marvels of Music Ages 10-12 • Ms. Elizabeth Ernst • $315 In this week of music mania, campers will have hands-on fun while they learn about different eras and genres of music, famous and not-so-famous composers, how instruments have changed over time, and even how to write their own songs! If you love music, this is the camp for you!

Football Skills & Drills Ages 10-12 • Coach John Babcock • $315 Football skills and drills is designed to teach aspiring football players to learn skills which will increase their confidence on the football field. ART-chitects: Engineering & Art Ages 10-12 • Instructor from Little Scholars • $355 In this camp, kids will learn the basics of architecture, including drawing, designing, and creating structures and buildings. Design the home of your dreams, discover the inspiration for famous buildings and bridges, or plan a new roller coaster for your favorite theme park.
