Camphill Village Trust Camphill Village Trust is a charity supporting over 500 adults with learning disabilities in 10 communities and services across England. We have three residential communities in the north of England: Croft Community in Malton, Botton Village in the North York Moors and Larchfield Community in Middlesbrough. Other communities are based in Gloucestershire, Stourbridge in the West Midlands, and Hertfordshire. The Camphill movement takes its name from the first residential community for children with learning disabilities, founded by Doctor Karl Konig and a group of young helpers in 1939 at the Camphill estate in Aberdeen.
Other Camphill communities soon developed, and Camphill Village Trust was founded in response to parental requests for support for adults. Botton Village, our first community, was founded in 1955, and Croft Community opened in 1976. Now, as a national charity and not-for-profit organisation, Camphill Village Trust brings over 65 years of experience, knowledge and passion to supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health challenges and complex needs.
Our vision is for people with learning and other disabilities to lead a life of opportunity, empowering the people we support to lead more connected, fulfilled lives and make informed choices.

People who are interested in joining our workshops, as well as their families, carers and support workers, are welcome to come and look around. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a visit. Everyone who attends our workshops is encouraged to think about what they hope to achieve. For some people this will be learning new skills, for others making friends or reducing anxiety is more important.
We recognise that everyone has unique skills and talents, as well as support needs, so group sizes are kept small to ensure that everyone has the support they need.
