Purpose:
To help ensure that each of the day opportunity day services (Café, Crafts Social Farm) offers a suitable, effective environment for the people we support, one which is safe, stimulating and welcoming to all.

A bit about us: We would love you to join our fantastic team as we support people to work towards individual goals in Life Skills and develop their own personal creativity and self-expression. We are an organisation with a primary aim to offer a sense of belonging and community, supporting adults with learning disabilities in our ten communities and services throughout England. Our community is surrounded by beautiful countryside, in Watford, part of the Camphill Village Trust. There is a social farm, a café, a kitchen for bakery and creative studios. 2
Duties and Responsibilities: •
You’ll provide 1:1 support to learn skills in Music, Drams, Textile Weaving, Felt-making, Needlecraft, Social Farm, Pottery and Food Preparation skills.
•
You’ll help support the individuals and workshops, through effective planning, utilising, and developing existing skills, generation of creative ideas and being able to do so using a person- centred approach.
•
You’ll adapt a creative, flexible way of working with the promotion of inclusion and individuality, and to celebrate achievement using a person-centred approach.
•
You may be required to perform duties other than those given in this job description. The specific duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time.
Person Specification •
You may have some previous experience of working with vulnerable people, ideally with adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions.
•
You’ll adapt a calm, person orientated approach with a flexible mind set and the ability to take and give direction from and to others.
•
You’ll have a proven ability to be honest, dependable and dedicated to your role.
•
You must have the ability to write in a legible manner, keep records and write clear accounts of your work/incident reports etc.
•
You’ll have a suitable level of education.
•
You’ll be respectful and understanding of others.

A bit more about us Situated only 15 miles from the centre of London and just outside Watford, Delrow Community combines both the rural and urban and is home to 50 adults with a range of disabilities. We also welcome local people to our day placements. We host many community events which everyone is invited to. These include Festivals and concerts in the Karl König Hall. This shared community life where everyone is supported to live, learn, work and play together helps the people we support to lead a life of opportunity.
