Department: Care and Support Salary:
£17,940 (NB: This is on a four-week payment cycle meaning you get paid 13 times per £19,500 at £10.00 £9.20 per year at per hour) hour) NB: Salary will increase from April 1st
Hours:
37.5 hours Monday to Sunday (rolling rota) e.g. 3 x shifts of 12.5 hours. 19:30 start to 08:00. We can be flexible in start / end times if required.

Who are we looking for? •
You’ll have experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities, elderly support or working with those with dementia and epilepsy.

You may be looking for that ideal role where you can support the individual needs of the people we support.

You’ll be keen to undertake Waking Nights, rotas cover Monday to Sunday with a start time from 19:30 to 08:00. We have flexibility with these times

You’ll have a supportive and encouraging natural approach: our tenants live in their own shared houses and will need support and guidance to maintain their home, meal preparation and some help with personal paperwork work.

You’ll have a general education, good numeracy and literacy skills

A bit about us: We’d love you to join our fantastic and dedicated team to be part of the community, working closely with the people we support. We’re quite unique: our 1,000-acre estate has multiple living accommodations but loads of additional features. There’s a village shop, café, supported homes, a walled garden, woodworking and creative studios, a lego studio, massive greenhouses, a 200 seater theatre and stunning scenery at every turn. Many of the people we support have been with us for many years. Our longest resident, June, has been living at Botton Village for 50 years. We are a charity and have been in existence for almost 70 years. 3
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Working under the direction of the Team Leader, you’ll plan and provide support and care to foster the wellbeing and development of the people we support in accordance with their person-centred support and care plan. You’ll be responsible for recording and reviewing progress as directed so that the people we support can fulfil their potential for independence, choice, inclusion and control. Some of the duties you’ll be required to undertake are: • • • •
Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming living environment. Undertake laundry duties, ensuring the people we support have clean clothing Prepare healthy and wholesome meals; you’ll follow the pre-agreed weekly menu support taking into account the choices of the people we support You may be working with a single person we support or several in a shared home
2. Working under the direction of the Team Leader, provide personal care to the people we
support, where required and appropriate, as part of their support and care plan. For example: • Bathing, dressing, shaving, using commodes, bedpans, urinals, washbowls etc. • Ileostomy, stoma care, catheter care. • Administering and recording of medication, order and check medications. • Meal preparation: preparing pureed meals, as well as assisted feeding of people you support. • Related paperwork: care plans, daily updates, person profiles, risk assessments, safeguarding and notes.

Working under the direction of the Team Leader, you’ll ensure the people we support receive their housing related support by helping them to look after their finances. You’ll help them access services from the landlord including maintenance services, reporting non-functioning safety and security measures and health and safety
4. You may be required to undertake other tasks as required by the Team Leader to develop
and maintain the high quality of service required. 5. Work within the community’s policies and procedures and code of conduct, actively
promoting the equality and diversity and the right of tenants to realise independence, choice, inclusion and control. 6. You’ll be provided with ongoing training and continuous professional development in
accordance with the needs of the service and the tenants. 4
A bit more about the role, what we have at Botton Village and some great pictures … We have our own dairy herd of 20 cows who produce over 100,000 litres of milk each year to make our awardwinning Dale End Cheddar cheese
You’ll complete the required paperwork in line with the agreed care plans along with person profiles, risk assessments and daily updates
You’ll prepare meals and sometimes be required to assist with feeding some of the people you support …
