A bit about Larchfield: Set in around 160 acres of rural farmland which is biodynamically farmed, Larchfield enjoys the benefits of the countryside as well as all the amenities of the local area of Coulby Newham and major town of Middlesbrough, which is a fifteen-minute car journey away. We have several thriving workshops that some of the people who live here access. We have six supported living houses, some of which contain separately supported flats. As a Team leader, with the support of the Registered Manager and the Care and Support Manager, you will be leading a staff team to ensure that one of these houses operates smoothly and meets the needs of the people we support and the requirements of the Local Authority Commissioners and CQC standards. The needs of the people who live at Larchfield vary from a mild to profound learning disabilities, complex needs, including Autism, mental health challenges, physical challenges and some distressed behaviours. Therefore, all the people who live here require different levels of support ranging from a few hours a week to full 24/7 support. This can make for some complicated rotas being produced by you, with responsibility to ensure that all shifts are covered correctly and by the right staff. We are supported locally with managing a variety of needs by a multi-disciplinary team of social workers, care managers, community nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and positive behaviour support specialists. The people who live at Larchfield make decisions about how they are supported and who supports them. They are involved in the recruitment process and their opinion forms part of who is appointed in any Team Leader or Support Worker role, so be prepared to impress!
