Tammi Ribey
10 chair, Canadian Angus foundation
Welcome to the Building the Legacy Sale 10! We are thrilled to be planning a live auction at the National Convention in beautiful New Brunswick. For the past decade, Angus breeders and industry supporters have donated top genetics, services, and experiences to the sale. Bidding is always strong, and we are fortunate to raise funds to help the Canadian Angus Foundation continue the legacy. The Canadian Angus Foundation functions to preserve and expand the Angus breed for future generations through education, youth development, scientific and market research, and historical preservation and restoration. We strongly support our youth with scholarships and travel bursaries. We work hard to offer opportunities across the country to experience Angus events. The youth are our future! We are also trying to improve the world for Angus breeders now through support of research initiatives and support for educational events. Please give your support to the Building the Legacy Sale. The world is opening up again and we want to help our youth experience it. They have missed so much with the pandemic. “Alone we can do so little: Together we can do so much.” —Helen Keller

Chair, Building the Legacy Sale Committee
It is my pleasure, on behalf of the sale committee and the entire Canadian Angus Foundation Board of Directors to introduce you to Building the Legacy 10! This sale offering represents the 10th annual fundraising sale assembled by the CAF and it is a testament to the breeders, businesses and individuals who have contributed to the Foundation over the past decade. Without them, none of this is possible. Building the Legacy 10 will be headlined by a pick of the entire 2022-born calf crop at JEM Farms, the Mutch Family from Earnscliffe, Prince Edward Island. This will be a great opportunity for whoever buys the pick to dig deep into a prestigious cow herd that has had extensive success in the show ring and outside of the show ring to pick a calendar year bull or heifer calf. Not to mention that when you make your selection, I am certain you will enjoy first-class camaraderie and hospitality with a one-of-a-kind view right from their pasture. Additionally, we have a breed-leading offering of new and exclusive Angus genetics from various breeders in the form of semen and embryos. Many industry leaders and business have offered credits and vouchers toward their services and products. The multiple other experiences, trips, and art will be worth your consideration and appraisal as well. Many of the sale managers, consultants and staff from across Canada will be in attendance with us in Moncton and available for assistance if required. You can also watch and bid online with DLMS. Once again on behalf of the CAF board and the Legacy Sale Committee, I would like to extend our gratitude and sincere appreciation to all of those who donated to this 10th annual sale and to those who take part in the auction. See you in Moncton on June 11.
Sheldon Kyle
President, Canadian Angus Association
As we return to in-person events, I am excited to interact face-to-face with our Angus fraternity. So much of our business is based upon personal connections and relationships. I look forward to our visit in Moncton this June. If you are unable to be there, make sure to log on to DLMS to join in the action. The Canadian Angus Foundation serves to preserve our history, develop our youth, and explore research and educational opportunities for our members. Building the Legacy is an important piece of the Foundation’s work and success. The committee members have diligently put together a sale offering with something for everyone. Through the generosity of our membership’s donations and purchases, the CAF continues to meet their mandate. I want to extend a thank you to the CAF Board of Directors for their tireless work and commitment. The work that they do is meaningful and rewarding to our membership. I have enjoyed watching many of the previous youth participants develop successful breeding establishments and professional careers.
