RAISE THE PADDLE
Outdoor Learning and Community Spaces This year’s Raise the Paddle is dedicated to enhancing our outdoor learning and community spaces. COVID forced us to adapt and to find creative solutions for nontraditional classrooms, maximizing our 30-acre campus. It allowed us to see the long term advantages of learning outdoors and having outside community gathering spaces. These enhanced spaces will provide our faculty with instructional flexibility, our students with much desired outdoor time and everyone with more usable and attractive campus courtyards. As a school in Virginia Beach with our climate, it is fitting that we create spaces where students can spend more time learning outdoors. In recent years, generosity through Raise the Paddle at the Grand Auction has built a new playground, renovated our Cafe Dolphin, created the Kenison Digital Media Library and re-imagined and expanded the Preston Scot Creech Fitness Center. Tonight, during this difficult year, please help us make this vision a reality by raising your paddle to support our outdoor classrooms and community spaces project!
