It all started with friends who wanted me to tattoo them since I was the best drawer of the group of friends, but without any experience and without knowledge we built a homemade machine, at 15 years old without finding information about anything related to tattoos, my mother cultured, she explained to me that there had to be a certain asepsis such as using sterile field gloves and barriers for crosscontamination, so before even starting to tattoo I began to study myself theoretically and then practically on the topic of health! And that's how I started tattooing my first tattoo, I'll never forget it! I cut a rose, put it in a vase and drew it with a freehand pen on a friend's left shoulder blade, which to this day, 25 years later, remains unchanged!

The challenges were huge! I had a notebook where I made my notes, for example I did a tattoo at a certain speed with a certain type of very fine cooking needles, I wrote down each step, as they were my friends I saw how I was healing daily and learning! Unfortunately, I did not have mentors, I was always self-taught.

I love the realism style in shadows and full color, also comics and Japanese! 5-the best experience has been for more than 20 years I have tattooed and met incredible friends people traveling with my art all over the world and that for me is incredible and priceless, I am grateful to life!

Today my idols to name a few Carlos Torres / Jess Jen / Dmitry Sammoin / Victor Portugal among others!

Step into the unconventional and vibrant world of Simon Peter, the creative force behind Sunrise Skin Art in Belgium. Simon's journey into the tattoo industry began in a moment of boredom and creativity, as he experimented with stick and poke tattoos on his friends using a sewing needle tied to a pencil and Chinese ink. Alongside fellow artists Muriel Mortal and Ninou Chka, Simon honed his craft and explored the realms of botanical blackwork, developing a unique style that blends intricate botanical motifs with bold blackwork techniques.

Simon's tattooing journey took an unexpected turn after a wild party, where he allowed a friend (who definitely wasn't a tattoo artist) to tattoo a smiley face on his butt after a few too many drinks. Although his girlfriend may not be a fan, this quirky experience only added to Simon's colorful tattooing adventures.

Despite facing challenges in his personal life, tattooing became Simon's saving grace, inspiring him to turn his life around. His artist name, Sunrise Skin Art, reflects this transformation – a reminder that after every dark night, there is always a sunrise. Drawing inspiration from artists like Khablk, Kubrick, and Midnight Luna, Simon infuses his creations with passion, creativity, and a touch of whimsy. When he's not wielding a tattoo machine, you can find Simon reconnecting with nature or indulging his other artistic passions, such as making music and writing lyrics.
