In a recent interview, we had the pleasure of diving into the captivating world of Kate Dumka, a talented tattoo artist hailing from Torun, Poland. Her artistic journey is one of dedication, passion, and the pursuit of merging her diverse artistic talents.

During her high school years, she began creating commissioned portraits from photographs, investing countless hours into refining her artistic abilities This led her to pursue a Fine Arts degree at the esteemed Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, where she graduated with honors. Alongside her studies, Kate opened her own art and photography studio, constantly seeking ways to merge her passions. It was during this time that she discovered a tattoo studio in Torun, where she acquired the fundamental knowledge of tattooing. Since 2016, Kate has been fully immersed in the world of tattoo art, sharing her remarkable talents with the world.

OTZI, the legend of the ice man

5,300 years ago, wounded and possibly wanted, Ötzi spent his last days wandering the high Alps, healing his wounds with plants and other vegetation, before being hurled to his death by an arrow in his back. In 1991, hikers on a glacier in the Ötztal Alps discovered this naturally frozen mummified body near the border, between Italy and Austria His mummy is a beautiful canvas of 67 tattoos from the Copper Age, covering him from head to toe The tattoos were not born under a needle, but from fine incisions in the skin, which he then filled with charcoal. It is in memory of this "first tattooed man», Easytattoo & Easypiercing are now renames OTZI.

ILL NINO M E T A L F R O M N E W J E R S E Y

Ill Nino is a metal band from New Jersey that has been making music since 1998. The band's sound is a blend of Latin rhythms, heavy metal, and alternative rock, creating a unique and distinctive sound that has earned them a devoted fanbase over the years.

Their debut album “Revolution, Revolución” sold 350.000 copies worldwide in the first two months and launched the bands career.

“Confession” their second album included their first big single and one of Ill Nino's most popular tracks - "How Can I Live," which was featured in the movie "Freddy vs. Jason". It became a hit on rock radio stations across the country.

The band worked tirelessly touring across US and Europe and releasing new music every couple of years And they are a really good band to see live I’m not sure how well they work on a huge festival stage, but in a smaller venue they just blow the roof off I had a chance to see them live in Glasgow in 2017 and was immensely impressed!

Despite lineup changes over the years, Ill Nino has continued to make music and tour, proving themselves to be a resilient and dedicated band. With their unique blend of Latin rhythms and heavy metal, Ill Nino has carved out a niche for themselves in the metal scene.

Even though the 2019 saw the departure of the original vocalist Christian Machado (and two other members), the band found a worthy replacement in Marcos Leal. Changes of a vocalist can often spell a nail in the coffin of a band, but in this case Marcos has proven that he can maintain the character of the band’s signature style and add a little something from himself on top of that. Just watch their collab with P.O.D.’s Sonny Sandoval “All or Nothing” on YouTube.

With 7 albums under the belt the band is still going strong. Even though their last album was released in 2014, but the band has been teasing a new album for 2023 so I’m hopeful and keep my fingers crossed.

BLOODYWOOD

Bloodywood has been making waves in the metal scene since 2016. The band consists of guitarist Karan Katiyar, Jayant Bhadula and Raoul Kerr on vocals, Sarthak Pahwa playing dhol (a traditional Indian drum), Roshan Roy on bass and a drummer - Vishesh Singh. What sets Bloodywood apart from other metal bands is their fusion of traditional Indian music with metal, creating a unique and captivating sound. The band's name, Bloodywood, is a play on words that reflects their mission to bridge the gap between the East and the West, which is also reflected in mixed languages – the rapping parts are in English and bridges and choruses in Hindi They aim to celebrate their Indian heritage while also paying homage to their love for metal. The band's music often features the use of traditional Indian instruments, such as the sitar and the dhol, alongside distorted guitars and thundering drums.

One of Bloodywood's most popular tracks is "Machi Bhasad," which translates to "Total Chaos" in Hindi. The song's lyrics reflect the chaos and confusion that often arise in modern-day India, touching on topics such as corruption and social injustice. The music video for "Machi Bhasad" has amassed over 30 million views on YouTube, making it the band's mostwatched video to date. Another standout track from Bloodywood is "Ari Ari," which features a catchy chorus and a driving beat that will have listeners headbanging in no time. The music video for "Ari Ari" is a colorful and vibrant celebration of Indian culture, featuring dancers in traditional attire and intricate henna designs. In addition to their music, Bloodywood is known for their high-energy live performances I can attest to that Believe you me – you cannot just stand still! The band has toured extensively throughout India and Europe, playing at some of the biggest metal festivals in the world

So far they have released one album - “Rakshak” and it definitely is worth a listen (they also released Anti-pop vol. 1 album in 2017 with covers of pop songs, but it does not count as their debut and, in truth, is very difficult to find it online).

Bloodywood's unique blend of Indian music and heavy metal has earned them a devoted fanbase and critical acclaim. They have been featured in publications such as Metal Injection and Loudwire With their infectious energy and distinctive sound, Bloodywood is a band that is sure to continue making waves in the metal scene for years to come

Established in 2008 and after more than a decade at the Shepherd's Inn, North Lakes Tattoo Show is now situated in the Old Fire Station in Carlisle's city centre. As Cumbria's first and only tattoo showcase, North Lakes is home each year to a selection of the finest tattoo artists from all over the UK, Europe and even further afield.

We hope you didn't miss out on the incredible North Lakes Tattoo Show that took place from March 31st to April 2nd, 2023, in the charming city of Carlisle, Cumbria. This year ' s event was an absolute blast, leaving attendees with lasting memories of a truly remarkable experience. The North Lakes Tattoo Show brought together a diverse group of talented tattoo artists from all corners of the world. The convention was a hub of creativity and artistry, showcasing a wide range of tattoo styles that left visitors in awe. From traditional and neo-traditional designs to realistic portraits, geometric patterns, and intricate dotwork, the level of talent on display was absolutely breathtaking.

Beyond the incredible tattoos, the convention offered a fantastic array of entertainment and attractions. Live music performances set the tone, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere throughout the event. Art exhibitions provided a glimpse into the world of tattoo-inspired artwork, while contests and seminars allowed attendees to learn from industry experts and witness some friendly competition among artists.
