ADVICE
Take a look into a busy week with one of the UK’s most innovative hairdressers, Mark Woolley. Not only has Mark racked up an amazing 30 years in the business, he recently launched the first co-working space dedicated to hairdressers, photographers and other creatives: Electric Space. Monday Location
London/ Brighton Years in business

@markwoolley1 @electric_london @electric_space_london
I start my day bright and early, heading across the farm to feed our two pet pigs, Violet and Tommy. Then I head into Brighton for my weekly meeting with the head office team. As I always try to set the example of the kind of behaviour I want to see in my team, after our meeting I usually head to one of our salons, splitting my time between London, Brighton, Oxford, Reading and Liverpool. This is a fundamental part of my role as it keeps me connected to the clients that Electric serves and lets me see first-hand how each salon is doing.
Tuesday I split my Tuesdays between my home in Sussex and London. The mornings are devoted to developing and manufacturing our ethically sourced, professional product line. All Electric hand-crafted products are developed by ourselves with some ingredients and raw materials grown on my farm. I am proud to say that Electric products are regularly used by some of the world’s most influential hair stylists. After lunch I head up to London for what usually consists of an afternoon of press meetings at Soho House in Greek Street.
My vision for Electric Space was to create a shared creative workspace for independent trailblazers. I am proud to say that we have achieved exactly this, with the space now housing some of the most directional and influential hairstylists, photographers, filmmakers, makeup artists, ad agencies and art directors out there. Making use of our venue on Wednesday evenings I often host film screenings in our private cinema. Our most recent screenings include Oasis: Knebworth 1996 and Quadrophenia.
Thursday The most amazing thing about the hair industry is the power it has to help people achieve their dreams and ambitions. I
or on shoots – it reminds me why I love what I do.
Friday Fridays are spent working on projects at Falmer Court, the home of Electric. Set within the beautiful Sussex down, my vision for Falmer Court is to provide a global destination for the Electric brand, with a world-class studio, state of the art offices and a product lab. Our newly renovated, midthirteenth century thatched barn is becoming a well-known location for shooting films and hosting photoshoots for hairdressers and fashion brands. The barn has been booked for several parties and celebrations – we recently had Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) DJing an event there.
Mark’s advice
“Build and cultivate a team that believe in your vision and want to be a part of it. Make it happen together and celebrate each victory together.”
am passionate about helping my people fulfil their potential, sharing global creativity and knowledge. That said, Thursdays are often spent mentoring individuals and salons. I’ve most recently been asked to join Creative Head’s Activator programme. Though I’ve dedicated much of my time in recent years to growing my businesses, my passion is still hair. Whenever Wednesday possible, I will be found in I base myself at Electric Space, Electric Space’s salon, doing our five-storey town house what I do best. It always feels nestled between Soho and good to get back in the salon Fitzrovia in Rathbone Place. whether it be with clients, VIPs
Saturday I’m back in the salon but this time it’s Brighton; it’s always great catching up with my clients here as some of them have been with me for over 20 years.
Sunday After a busy week, it’s time to slow down and unwind. Sundays are for spending time with the family, getting jobs done around the farm and getting stuck into my art.

Now’s the time to do something different – and there are two clear trend camps. Whether your clients are loving the super pretty pastels or the warm and spicy coppers, it’s all about beautiful hair. Here’s what the best in the business are predicting when it comes to these two major trends.
The pastel effect Pastels have stuck around this past year, and they’re still here for 2022! Perhaps it’s because there’s a shade and depth for every skin tone? Suzie McGill of Rainbow Room says this year’s pastels have some added oomph. “For pastels, think subtle shades of pink like Champagne pink –almost iridescent in hue – as well as peach tones for gorgeous warmth and cool-toned lilacs, but paired with a beautiful dark root.” Pastels give depth to pale skin and add warmth and glow to darker skin tones. OSMO Ambassador Adele Clarke of Spectrum Hair agrees, and says the only thing that’s changed with the pastel trend is the positioning. “It’s definitely going to be about tonal effects such as a peach, pink, violet or blonde blush, but we’ll start to see more of a focus at the crown area that’s then drawn through to the ends for a blended effect,” says Adele. Try: Goldwell Dualsenses Blondes And Highlights
Serum Spray to keep blondes fresh and clean. 150ml £8.30/€10.15
Award-winning salon owner Guy Kremer agrees, saying that pastels are a delicate way to play with colour. “For those adventurous few, subtle pastel pink highlights add fun and flamboyance!” says Guy. 8
HAIR
NXT
Paul Watts of Joico says more excitement is coming to the pastel spectrum via gorgeous metallics. “One of the biggest colour trends will be the Mushroom Brunette,” says Paul. “It’s a metallic-inspired shade, a mix of two colours – platinum blonde infused with a violet toner and a very cool brunette. Working together, the colours create a double dimension effect, appearing almost as a metallic tone. It’s set to be huge because it’s very client-friendly with just a little touch of creativity.” Try: Wella Professionals INVIGO Nutri-Enrich
Conditioner to protect coloured hair from further stress. 1000ml £20.35/€14.99
Getting warmer Although pastels aren’t for everyone, another way to softer, more wearable hair is of course, balayage, a technique that’s stood the test of time. Guy Kremer says: “Our clients are opting for French balayage more than ever. Softer lines and a natural, sunkissed look means clients get a low-maintenance style that they love, with periodic appointments when they want to add pops of brightness around the face. However, this year we’re moving away from ashy tones to creamy, golden and honey hues; everyone wants that extra warmth and sunlit hair.”

TOO
Black at Adam Reed says she can’t wait for warmer colours. “I’m really excited about embracing warmth again – buttery, honey, Champagne-toned blondes are set to be huge. We’re also seeing a major copper movement; think strawberry blonde, fiery orange, luxe auburns and everything in between!” The sunkissed theme continues for Karen Thomson, owner of KAM Hair and Body Spa. She says: “Warm cinnamon highlights will be a popular trend – they’re great for adding depth to darker hair colours – as well as balayage. We’ll see a lot of brunettes requesting caramel tones that blend into brunette hair beautifully. For those looking to be more experimental with their balayage, suggest red and auburn tones; they’re great for adding dimension to the hair, as well as warmth and shine.” Ellie Smith of Smith England says that while icy blondes always have their place, warm coppers are where it’s at. “Copper Blonde is going to be the must-have colour for all the blondes out there, who are looking to give their hair a colour transformation. A colour full of warmth, this is a blend of honey blonde with freehand copper lights throughout to break up the one level colour and give the hair a much more inviting feel. What’s great about it is that the colour can be tailored to suit the complexion of the client, and warmth can be added or toned down if need be.” Try: Olaplex No.4-P Blonde Enhancer Toning
Warmer tones are going to be a huge trend, probably down to the fact that so many of us haven’t seen the sun for a while! Sarah

CARING FOR COLOUR
Sarah Black at Adam Reed SESH
“Throughout the colour service, I use products that focus on protecting and nourishing the hair and generally keeping it in the best condition. Look for products that protect and strengthen the hair bonds – before, during, and after every chemical service – to ensure the healthiestlooking hair. Finally, I always recommend a bespoke haircare routine for clients to use at home, which further ensures less damage.”
ROAR
“During the colour process the hair is more prone to damage, particularly if you’re bleaching the hair. As colourists we are all aware of the effects of colour on the hair and how it can cause damage, so it’s really important that we know the best possible products to use throughout the process; that way we ensure the clients’ hair is kept in the optimum condition.

More and more clients are dealing with issues that include everything from damaged hair (due to one too many DIY efforts) to alopecia and other stressinduced symptoms. We’ve asked the best in the business to give their tips on damage control.
PROTECTION The hair industry has seen 18+ months of hair woes, from clients who’ve indulged in quick colour fixes at home, or overdone it with keratin treatments. Now they’re coming back to the pros for answers! Jonathan Andrew, Fudge Professional Global Brand Ambassador, says treatments are the key, both in salon and at home. “For hair that’s feeling damaged, stressed or weak, it’s all about products that are able to penetrate deep into the cuticle and smooth out any damaged areas, while replenishing the condition. My top tip here is to use your favourite conditioner like a treatment: apply to the hair after washing and then wrap a warm, damp towel around the client’s head until it cools, before rinsing out. “I also love the Fudge Professional One Shot – it’s the ultimate styling product to help strengthen and repair the hair whether it’s coloured, damaged or overprocessed.”
THE GENTLE TOUCH Alopecia is a growing concern and is often associated with stressful life 14
changes, not just ageing. This means that women in their 30s and 40s might be experiencing hair loss for the very first time. Wil Fleeson, Director of Rainbow Room International’s Buchanan Street Salon and Director of Trichology Scotland, says it’s important to take serious note of any issues your client is facing. “When a client comes into the salon with a concern such as alopecia, hair thinning or hair loss, it’s our job to notice and know when it’s the right time to recommend that they see a trichologist,” says Wil. There are some key symptoms that Wil says hairdressers need to be aware of. For instance, if the client is seeing a lot more hair in their brush or in the shower, or they feel a tingling or burning sensation on the scalp or they can see more scalp than normal, this should be taken as a warning sign and the client should see a trichologist. “A trichologist can examine the hair and provide a solution or suitable treatment, but seeing a reputable trichologist is vital, particularly in terms of scarring alopecia and miniaturisation (hair follicle
narrowing), which can be permanent,” says Wil. Wil says there’s an added bonus of getting specialist help from a trichologist: “As hairdressers, our goal is to make clients look and feel fantastic when leaving the salon, but as a trichologist, there is a more emotional and intense side of the job, where we need to investigate the causes of the hair loss and be prepared to have sensitive, more emotional talks with the client.” Once your client has received the expert advice they need, it’s time to suggest salon treatments that can keep the hair they have looking as healthy as possible. Put together an action plan on how to repair their hair and stop any further damage being done. Regular trims are essential, as well as good quality professional moisturising shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, leave-in conditioners and heat defence sprays to keep hair nourished and protected. It can also be a good idea to look at hair colour services like balayage, highlights and lowlights, as they’re less high maintenance.

CREATE A SAFE SPACE When it comes to male clients and hair loss, it’s still important to give them room to discuss their concerns and be sensitive. While male pattern baldness is far more common and often starts much earlier, that doesn’t mean it’s less of a stressful issue. Jim Shaw, Owner of TONI&GUY Billericay says:
You’ve got the tips, now get the tools! Check out some of the best treatments for damaged hair, all available at Capital now. #1 OSMO Scalp Therapy – If you are looking for the ultimate hair ‘refresh’, OSMO Detoxify Shampoo is here! With its new look packaging, it’s designed to provide a deep clean and remove impurities that can weigh hair down and leave it lifeless. This ultimate detox fix leaves both hair and scalp feeling refreshed and revived. 1 Litre, £7.95
“Acknowledge that your clients may feel frustrated and show them understanding. Help them to feel at ease and comfortable enough to open up. Be prepared for lots of questions and do as much specific hair loss training as you can. “For some clients, simply changing their hair products or the way they look after their hair can help to prevent hair thinning and hair loss, while others might require treatment. For clients who are starting to see their hair receding or balding in spots, it’s about creating the best haircuts and hairstyling to disguise it,” says Jim.
THE ULTIMATE TREAT Unless you’ve taken time off from the hair industry over the past few years, you will undoubtedly know about the power of Olaplex. Countless hairdressers cite it as their number one treatment for every hair type, and we’ve even had our podcast guests rave about it! For Ellie Smith, of Smith England it’s simple: Olaplex really works. “Olaplex is a must! It repairs the bonds that are broken down during the colour developing process. I personally wouldn’t even have my own hair coloured without it now.” Award-winning hairdresser Guy Kremer agrees.
“I’m also loving Metal Detox from L’Oréal – it’s fantastic for preventing damage occurring in the first place by neutralising harmful metals in the hair.”

Going through lockdown was definitely a period where everyone had more time to contemplate their hair. For some it was a time of revelation as they didn’t even realise their hair had any kind of wave to it; for others, it was a time when they could no longer rely on retexturising treatments as, little by little, their natural curls came through. Guy Kremer sees it as a positive time for all curls. “One of the great benefits of lockdown was that many women embraced their natural texture for the very first time. Whether it’s a tight coil or a loose wave, all curls are beautiful and all curls can look incredible with the right products. Curly consumers have been ignored for too long, but now we are seeing a spectrum of products aimed at moisturisation and gently cleansing, giving clients shiny, defined curls. Not only that, perms are making waves amongst male clients, with many choosing to add texture and style to their hair.”
It all starts at the salon Rainbow Room’s Suzie McGill says it’s important to cater to those with textured hair and that it’s not just the clients who benefit.
hair use a good quality conditioning shampoo and conditioner. Schwarzkopf have a number of options including the BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Micellar Shampoo and Conditioner and
they also have an All About Curls range, which features a number of care and styling products for those with curly hair,” says Suzie, who also notes how important hair oils are.
Extra TLC Oils have long been used by those with afro hair as a way to lock in moisture; in fact many afro-specialist stylists opt for a trifecta of products, usually consisting of a hydrating water spritz, followed by a curl cream, then a hair oil to seal the ends. Curls and braids last longer with this method as it protects the ends from damage. Another longstanding way of protecting afro or textured hair is what’s known as protective styling; this might be braids or twists and they are particularly ideal for the colder months, when hair can become more prone to damage.
“It allows you to expand your client base and secure new and loyal clients. It can be especially difficult for those with textured or Afro hair to find a salon that has stylists that can work on their hair type, but having your team trained in this area of hair can be incredibly beneficial and can attract clients to your salon rather than your competitors. I do believe all salons should now cater towards all hair types and textures.” Finally, for Gianmarco Catapano, of Angelo Seminara, when it comes to Suzie goes on to discuss just how curls, it’s all about showing movement. important the right products are. While some curly clients might love a big, “With people working from home more brushed-out style, the key current often I think there is an increased curl trend is definitely definition. demand for natural and easy solutions for styling hair and a lot of people are happy “I love the OSiS+ range as it has some to embrace their natural movement. incredible products like Curl Honey Curl Cream, which works to define “One of the first steps is finding the right natural curls and waves, giving them product for the right hair texture, because definition and bounce whilst leaving when you find the perfect product, that is them smooth and touchable. when you will learn to love your curls. Great for those with long or short hair, you can add shape to hair with straighteners or irons, but don’t curl the ends and be sure to use a low heat. Short bobs and lobs look great with a loose, beachy curl. #2 Voluminous glam curl
Perfect for those with long hair, simply use mousse, hairspray and your trusty tongs. Then simply brush out the curls with a brush for a softer look. #3 Bouncy blow dry curls

Coming back after lockdown was tough for so many of us, and getting clients back into a regular routine has been a struggle. Making sure clients are on track for regular haircuts and colours ensures that not only do they stick to a good schedule with their hair, but stylists have less corrective work to do when they come in. We have found that the salon software Phorest has been a lifesaver!
and care ranges, assessing each and receiving feedback from all involved. It was so important for us to test the products and witness just how well they work with colour, hair textures and hair that needs extra care. Never, ever rush this process and always give feedback honestly. Product houses have so many different options, so it’s important to try everything you can until you find something that works for you, your team and your clients.
Linda Stewart, co-owner of Rainbow Room International on growth during
Stylists can access the bookings on their phone with ease to look up colour records and client notes at a moment’s notice. We’re also still following COVID guidelines and prioritising the health and wellbeing of our staff and our clients at all times to ensure everybody feels 100 percent confident being in the salon.
Brian MacMillan of F&M Hairdressing on switching product companies.
When you’re thinking of making a change the first thing to do is: research. Then, once you’ve found a brand you’re curious about, try before you buy. It’s so important to try the products before you consider, sign or go any further with a product company. This is a huge decision for your business, and although it might sound fantastic on paper, the products might not meet your expectations.
challenging times.
Communication is the key to the success of every business. Not only communicating with your clients and customers, but also your team. Particularly when you are going through hard and challenging times, it’s important to communicate with your team to ensure they remain motivated and positive at all times. Communication with your clients is also incredibly important. During the pandemic it was crucial to let clients know that we were still there, despite the salon not being open and that we were doing everything possible behind the scenes to ensure our salons were safe places for clients that would feel comfortable when the salons reopened. We’ve been working on a f reelancer guide that you won’t want to miss! Packed with valuable advice on everything from marketing to your tax returns and mental health, we thought we’d share a taster here, and also share some bonus insights. When you’re ready, be sure to download the guide in full for FREE at www.capitalhairandbeauty.co.uk/freelance-focus. Throughout you’ll see clickable links pointing you to even more inspiring advice and content! First up, Indola’s UK ambassador Abbey Jarrold shares exactly why she chose to become a freelance hairdresser. 26
FREELANCE
WHY I WENT FREEL ANCE
Abbey Jarrold
During lockdown I became a freelance hairdresser and set up my own at-home salon in my garden. This is where I work as a colourist and stylist, looking after a large clientele with flexibility on the hours and days I work.
Being freelance means I’m able to look after my clients but also able to work with Indola as UK ambassador; so I get to work on photo shoots or at Fashion Week – things that I really love doing. I’ve always had a passion for hairdressing and love being able to make people feel good about themselves but I really became drawn to freelance hairdressing when I realised what a huge industry there is outside of the salon.
and Facebook, as well as more traditional marketing, such as handing out leaflets to my neighbours and local businesses. It definitely helped that I had already built a strong and loyal relationship with my current clients. I absolutely love running my own business; it might be stressful to start with but it has all worked out so well.
Abbey’s 3 top tips on entering the freelance world: #1 Always keep on educating yourself no matter what level you are. Keep up with training courses, and you can always learn from other hairdressers too, especially when it comes to trends and techniques.
#2 I was amazed that you could train, travel and develop while having such a creative and rewarding job. I’ve loved travelling the world as a freelance hairdresser and have learned so much in the process. Setting up can be hard but my regular clients were so eager to help me; I had so many recommendations that I quickly became fully booked! I also marketed myself on Instagram
Have confidence in yourself! It’s hard going freelance but if you don’t have faith in yourself that you can do it then who will? Work hard and it will all work out.
#3
Set goals. If you don’t go immediately into freelance work, set a deadline for yourself and work hard towards that goal; build up a strong client base and don’t be afraid to go for it!
THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING FREEL ANCE …BY GRACE ADAMOU @BYGR ACEOLIVIA _ HAIR The best thing about freelancing is being my own boss; I get to set my own hours, choose whichever brand of products I like and decide on the services I offer. I also get to meet so many amazing clients and build some truly lovely relationships; I really appreciate my clients, and to know that this is how I earn a living is priceless.
The challenges When I became freelance, I underestimated how hard it was to build up my business. It took a lot of time and patience and a lot of uploading on social media – it still does to this day – to grow my clientele. Along the way, I learned an incredible amount of tips from other freelancers in the industry. From offering discounted services to
mini competitions, it’s all part of the journey! The biggest challenge so far is not knowing when to shut off from work. This is my business; my clients, my stock etc, so I’m constantly making sure everything is sorted, answering messages late at night – but it’s all so that I can continue to grow my business and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
My advice My advice would be 100 percent do it and don’t look back!
What’s in our Freelancer Focus guide? Want to become a freelance hair or beauty pro in 2022? Our new Freelancer Focus guide tells you exactly how. With useful insights and experiences from some of our favourite freelancers, we answer so many important questions, such as: How do I retain clients? How do I market myself? What product range do I go for? How do I manage my time? How can I budget for every cost? Where can I find resources on setting up my company?
Going freelance is the best thing I have ever done in my career. Starting up on your own is of course a very daunting thing, from starting off with maybe an unreliable income and not many clients, to absolutely smashing work and loving your job; that’s how you should feel coming home after a day’s work.
How can I make time for my mental health?
If you or someone you know wants to go freelance, be sure to send them a link to where they can download the FREE guide in full and instantly gain access to a wealth of information. Let’s make this your year!

Hard as Nails
When it comes to nail predictions for 2022, it’s hard to, well, nail them down! That’s because in a post-pandemic culture, trends are very much led by social media and celebrity looks, as well as influential nail techs. While the catwalk will always influence what your clients are after, by staying in touch with what’s happening on Instagram and TikTok, you could open up a whole new world when it comes to inspiration. Check out just some of our current fave nail techs. #1 Harriet Westmoreland
#2 Imarni Nails
When you talk about influential nails, Harriet Westmoreland is the name on everyone’s lips. From celebs such as Zendaya and Rochelle Humes, Harriet has taken the nail world by storm with her super chic and simple manicures that put the focus back on healthy-looking nails and hands.
When you think of Imarni Nails you’ll likely think of anything from dusky pink, ultra matte looks to graphic, glossy animal print and neon stilettoes. If there’s a new nail trend, it’s likely Imarni or one of her celebrity clients created it.

NAILS
OPI Boss Dani Bailey shares her thoughts on the blended trends of 2022. I’ve been checking out what’s happening on the catwalks, and the top 4 trends that came through for me are: Solar shades: think gold, bronze,
amber and marigold – beautiful bright tones that make us think of sunshine and holidays! According to Pantone, 2022 will be about colours that bring us joy, and these definitely fit the bill. Stiletto nails: expect lots of crystals
and extreme shapes as clients want to be out more and more! You’ll also see stilettoes in classic red and black French manicures.
#3 Carolina Ibrahim
No-frill neutrals and sheers: this was
a huge trend last year, when it was all about finding that perfect shade of pink and nude. With the rise of the super nail artists like Harriet Westmoreland (see our #1 nail account) , chic ‘barely there’ manis are all the rage. Florals and bright pastels: This year’s
pastels will look a little brighter, with more warm shades rather than the cool, pale ones. We’ll also see pastels being combined with bold shades giving a sense of defiance and joy.
Salon System Nail Expert and Owner of Sketched by J-A, Julie-Anne Larivière shares why it’s so important to stay ahead when it comes to the nail industry. Now more than ever, it’s harder to predict what new trends will make their way into the nail world as we are very much influenced by social media. A nail tech will create something and BOOM, that’s the next big thing! This means it’s really important that anyone in the nail industry keeps a close eye on social platforms, especially Instagram, in order to stay up to date. The trends that will endure throughout 2022 include tortoiseshell, modern twists on the French manicure, stone/marble effects and mismatched nail art.
When you check out @nailedbycarolina’s Instagram page it’s clear her number one obsession is colour, but in excess! So you might see a classic French manicure, but it’s going to be embellished and it’s going to feature some kind of colourful print. It’s this willingness to have fun that has had the likes of musician FKA Twigs in Carolina’s chair. @nailedbycarolina
Also, negative space mixed with geometric or animal print designs and chrome finishes will be huge, as clients want to try a little bit of everything. When it comes to colours, we’ll still be seeing lots of muted nudes with pops of orange and blue. FURNITURE
Three interiors trends we know you and your clients will love! From luxurious gold to vibrant plant interiors…
#2 ALL GOLD Gold leaf is no longer the domain of a members’ club bathroom; we’re seeing it in kitchens, bathrooms and now salons! After the austerity of 2021, gold leaf really leans into luxury, and is a great signal to clients of what they can expect once they sit down. How to do it: You can go as big as you
#1 OUTSIDE IN Many of us became plant people last year and now the green-fingered trend is entering many commercial spaces. In the salon, the natural trend is all about offering spaces that give off calm and tranquil vibes – think less jungle, more chill. How to do it: You don’t have to paint
nature-inspired murals on your walls (although that could be cool) to take on the natural trend; instead opt for pops of plant life, dotted around the salon. Perhaps some big, beautiful Monstera plants (or cheese plants as they are more commonly known) or some delicate exotic bouquets around the reception area. Anything that gives your clients something pretty to look at while they wait. Works well with: Salons that already
have a neutral vibe happening via whites, creams, pale browns and greens. But vivid green plants also look stunning against more vibrant tones of aqua and coral, or even bold black salon interiors.
want with gold leaf. If you’re truly loving the trend then paint your walls with soft gold or get a bespoke reception desk made and coated in gold leaf. If it’s just a hint of luxury you’re after, you can pop onto Etsy and order a gold leaf abstract painting or buy some gorgeous gold fixtures. Works well with: Gold is that colour
that plays nice with everyone; from clean white to graphic black, it’s the perfect sophisticated accent to any salon interior.
#3 VINTAGE ALL THE WAY There’s been a massive resurgence in vintage buying, from home interiors to what’s in our wardrobe, and the trend works so well for the salon environment too. The key to buying vintage is to always make sure you see the item in person, if possible. Online you can find stunning vintage lamps and mirrors, ensuring that each client area has its own individual feel – and you can even buy your chairs and sofas online too. How to do it: The key to decorating with
vintage pieces is to ensure you have a definitive colour scheme as a retro space can quickly become more messy than quirky. So pick two to three colours that you love, or be even more specific and decide on an era you want to emulate. For example, an Art Deco theme of the 1920s is likely to be full of black, gold and white details, while a 1950s theme is more likely to be packed full with vivid primary colours of red, yellow and blue. Works well with: A brand new salon
