Likewise, 29IB Acting Commanding Officer Lt. Col Aristotle Antonio read and narrated the message of Lt. Gen Jose Faustino Jr., the Acting Commanding General of the Phil. Army in which he challenged every soldier to continue to be firm despite the many challenges they have encountered.
“Kahit na marami ang pinagdadaanang pagsubok ng ating
bansa ngayon, sana ay manatili tayong matatag sa pagtupad ng ating sinumpaang tungkulin - ito ay ang pagsilbihan at protektahan ang ating bansa kahit ang kapalit nito ay ang ating buhay,” he said. The event proceeded with the donning of ranks to four newly promoted officers and enlisted personnel. This was further followed by the turn-over ceremony for the First Sergeant of the Headquarters Service Company of the battalion.
As part of the NCO empowerment program of the unit, the outgoing and incoming First Sergeants delivered their respective speeches with remarkable excellence.
“As we commemorate this day of the 124th Anniversary of our organization, may we not forget the valiant sacrifices of our predecessors and also that we may learn to appreciate and take pride as well in the standard of honor, patriotism, and duty which each of you has shown forth. I want all of you to know that I am proud to have worked with you all my fellow comrades in arms,” said “And to those who have been newly promoted, I want you to bear in mind the words of Brooke Astor that, ‘Power is the ability to do things for others.’ Indeed, you are promoted into a higher position, not to have an increased salary alone. Remember, that it demands an increased time and effort on your part as you face more challenges and bigger responsibilities towards educating your subordinates and your service for others,” Lt. Col. Antonio added. (CMO Officer, 29IB PA/ PIA Agusan del Norte)
