SURSUR FARMERS, FISHERFOLKS RECEIVE CASH, FOOD SUBSIDY FROM DA

More than 1,400 farmers (coco, and corn), and fisherfolks have availed the cash and food subsidy from the Department of Agriculture (DA) in collaboration with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), and Corn Program in Surigao del Sur.

Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolk (CFSMFF) program was aimed to help the beneficiaries recovered from the adverse impacts of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and damages caused by the recent typhoons that affected the province, under the Bayanihan II or the “Bayanihan to Recover As One Act.”

Based on the report received from DAAgricultural Program Coordinating Office, the beneficiaries of CFSMFF program are from the municipalities of Lianga, San Agustin, Barobo, Cagwait, Marihatag, San Miguel, Tago, and city of Tandag. Each beneficiary received P5,000.00 composed of P3,000.00 cash, and a voucher worth P2,000.00. The voucher contained 25 kilos of rice, two trays of eggs, and two big-sized dressed chicken.

Meanwhile, Tandag City has 294 beneficiaries who received the Cash and Food subsidy from the DA thru the PCA, BFAR, and NCIP on April 6, held at Telaje Covered Court in Tandag City. (PIA-Surigao del Sur)
