How do you measure the success of a long-lasting life?
There are several answers, several parameters. What is unquestionable is that 130 years is a long time for any human being. Monitoring a region for so long is a challenging and surprising task. A Tribuna Newspaper has been recording the changes and events in the Baixada Santista since 1894. It may seem difficult to understand what 13 decades mean, but it is important to bear in mind that this period spans three centuries. During this period, the internet emerged, and communication means had to adapt, photography went from black and white to color and from analog to digital.
It is important to remember the saying: A picture is worth more than a thousand words. In this edition of Carcara we present the visual poem that A Tribuna has created over so many years, recording changes in the scenery, meetings, and events. We invite you to learn more about this story in the book “130 anos em Fatos e Fotos – Jornal A Tribuna” (130 years in Facts and Photos – A Tribuna Newspaper), organized by Arminda Augusto and Sergio Willians.
