For many generations, Cardinal Gibbons High School has stood as a beacon of excellence in education and character formation. This legacy is not just built on the efforts of our dedicated staff and faculty, but is equally a result of your generous contributions and belief in the values we uphold.
This Annual Report serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it allows us to express our heartfelt gratitude for the support we received during the last school year. Your contributions, whether financial, in kind, or through volunteer efforts, have been instrumental in our success. Secondly, it provides us with an opportunity to share the incredible achievements and milestones of our students and faculty, all of which were made possible because of your support.
As you flip through these pages, you will find the names of individuals, families, and organizations whose contributions have played a pivotal role in our school’s continued success. Each name represents a personal story of generosity and commitment to our school’s mission.
Here are a few notable highlights from the past school year that your support has made possible:
•Athletics: Cardinal Gibbons Athletics had an exceptional year, with the Baseball Team winning its first State Title in 37 years, a wrestler securing a second consecutive individual State Championship, a Diving State Champion, and a Track & Field State Champion in shot put. Additionally, Cardinal Gibbons was proud to send 32 committed student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level.
•Auction Proceeds: The 33rd Annual Auction, “Meet Me in Tahiti,” raised over $210,000, with $150,000 used for cafeteria and faculty lounge improvements.
•CGTV: Cardinal Gibbons’ CGTV students showcased their talents at the Student Television Network (STN) Spring Nationals in Long Beach, submitting six video projects in a nationwide competition including winning first place in the Crazy 8s Morning Show category. Their “Snap Back with Snapple” commercial, which aired on CGTV and during Night of the Arts, earned an Honorable Mention in the commercial category, highlighting the students’ impressive creativity and production skills. One of our seniors was also recognized by the Florida Scholastic Press Association as top three in the state for Broadcast Journalist of the Year.
•Silver Knight Awards: Cardinal Gibbons High School proudly competed in all 15 categories at the 66th Annual Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards, showcasing impactful student projects that benefited children and the community. Our nominees stood out among 788 seniors judged across various disciplines, including art, science, and journalism.
•Speech and Debate Team: Cardinal Gibbons Speech and Debate Team celebrated an incredible year, with students earning top national rankings and major tournament placements. Highlights include a State Champion in Informative Speaking, top national rankings in Humorous and Impromptu Speaking, and notable performances at the Tournament of Champions and Nationals. A record six students qualified for Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa, showcasing the team’s outstanding achievements.
In closing, I offer my deepest appreciation for your unwavering belief in and commitment to Cardinal Gibbons High School. Your support propels our mission forward and empowers us to shape the next generation of compassionate leaders and critical thinkers.
