Scholarships

It is so fabulous that a scholarship exists for women in theology. There are not nearly enough women in leadership in churches or in academia and it’s heartening to think of how many women before and after me who will get to study when previously they might not have been able to because of financial barriers in the way. As well as financial support, I think this scholarship will help many women, who might not have before, to believe that they have got what it takes, because we do!

Carey has really helped me to think theologically and understand the cosmic purposes of God and our participation in God’s grand story of renewing and redeeming creation. It’s so captivating that this is inextricably tied up with issues of race, culture, poverty and humanity. Most importantly, I know Jesus more intimately. I’m still not sure what I want to do after study but I do know that whether it be in theology or another discipline this degree is going to be a firm foundation and a lens through which to view everything.

This scholarship is going to enable many amazing women who have brilliant minds to come through Carey to dig deeper, love and know God more, and contribute significantly to God’s kingdom.”
