KRAVE The Band is an international Carnival Mas Band that began its journey in Barbados for Cropover 2014. The goal of KRAVE from inception was to bring Cropover to the World or the World to Cropover.Overthe years, my wife, Tracy Boyce and I, Avery Hackett as retuning Bajans, noticed there were very few Americans or West Indians living in America participating in our local festival. Our mission was to change that. In doing so, we have now evolved into a true International Band Brand with partnerships in Trinidad, Jamaica, St Martin, Atlanta, St Lucia, Bermuda, Grenada, Nottinghill, Miami and St. Kitts. K K

Soca artist who spent most of his childhood in Barbados. He came to America is 2009 and by the time 2015 came, he had found his passion and place in music a a DJ, Mixing his Bajan and Jamaican roots together, DJ Cheem began playing high school platforms and that led to colleges and then to radio where he landed a weekly spot on WLIU. He began creating music with hits such as "Gyal Ah Wine" and "Wine & Ben". This led to DJ Cheem slowly edging away from Djing and strictly making music where did that lead DJ Cheem.“Ba Ba Ben” Has had over 100 million streams worldwide Since it’s release in 2020. To add to it, Dj Cheem has released smash hits like “Ba Ba Ben Remix” featuring Lyrikal, Noah Powa and Lil Rick, “Bing Bong”, “Bashment“, and his latest release with Jamaica’s own IQ “Soca Start” has topped over 640,000 streams in just the first six weeks! He has also collaborated with Nailah Blackman, Adamo and QQ on “Body”. His famous song "Ba Ba Ben" created such a household dance of "head, shoulders, knees and toes" that Tik Tok brought videos in from over 18 different countries by the millions.

omaine “Luigi Society” Brown, born May 1st, 1984 has established himself in Jamaica as an elite event promoter for events such as Daybreak “both locally & internationally”, Allure, Cross Di Wataz, Image, Hennessy V, the Best Weekend Ever; has since channeled that success into music production. In the early part of Luigi’s musical career in 2011, Luigi Society started his transition through projects with Munga Honorable and Benzly Hype, both of which have played integral roles in his initial development. Luigi went on to produce joint ventures with both artistes during that period. In 2018, Luigi released his first major project; the Morning Bliss Riddim which featured a prominent artiste lineup including; Munga Honorable, Jah Vinci, Noah Powa, Demarco, Chino McGregor & ZJ Liquid. In 2020, the Luigi Society brand became a more recognized label with the release of Dane Ray’s single “Ray Gad”. Luigi began to garner even more attention both locally and internationally with the release of his most successful project, the “Sikario Riddim” featuring the likes of Popcaan, Munga Honorable, Teejay, Wasp, Dane Ray, PressKay, and Kyodi. As the Luigi Society label portfolio continued to expand, Luigi went on to work with more of Dancehall’s finest; the likes of Gage, ShaneO, D’Yani, Lutan Fyah, Richie Loop, Zagga, Charly Black, Junior Kelly, Turbulence, Zagga & Sikka Rymes to name a few. In 2022, the Luigi Society label released the Midnight Riddim; a high-intensity ‘Trap’ dancehall project which featured Mr.Peppa, Quenga from Skillibeng’s Eastsyde Records & Munga Honorable to name a few. Then Luigi shifted focus to the international market with releases from popular artistes in the Latin & European markets; such as Fyahbwoy, Kalibwoy & Bokeosam. Luigi is currently working with Latin super group SFDK from Spain and Chilean dancehall sensation El Shaak. Keeping consistent with quality releases is the label’s moniker, and currently, Singles and music videos from Dane Ray, Stefan Amali, and Potential Kidd are out and available on all digital platforms. Luigi has also been in the studio working with Munga on his upcoming album, “Conundrum” on which he co-produced a track “Full Moon” with Diego Don Music.

THE LAND OF SOCA AND SUN Located in the Southern part of the Caribbean archipelago, the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is a tropical haven filled with an abundance of natural and festive attractions with an equally beautiful and rich multicultural background. Home of the Limbo dance, Soca, Steelpan, culinary masterpieces, and an array of natural wonders there is something sure to excite every crowd. THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH Host of the biggest Carnival celebrations in the Caribbean, Trinidad carnival is the place to be. This festival season starts around January and ends on Ash Wednesday. The lead-up entails over 100 fetes and events which provide patrons with the unforgettable experience of paint, powder, water, and Mas. The more traditional events such as Panorama, Calypso and Soca Monarchs, Kings and Queens Competitions, Ole mas, and J’ouvert allow for an insight into the historical meaning and true roots of this celebration and the unique musical art forms which were spawned as a result. NATURAL BEAUTIES Home to the La Brea Pitch Lake, natural caverns and caves, and scenic hiking trails which lead to majestic waterfalls, pools, rivers and even beaches this is a paradise for any nature enthusiast. These native wonders are the natural habitat of over 470 species of birds and 600 butterflies as well as multiple other wildlife creatures. For the less adventurous spirits, there are over 50 beaches and 100 rivers spread over the country each with their special activities to make your experience worth wild.
FLAVOR FUH SO Being the melting pot of cultures that it is, the island is famous for many unique foods which have been inspired by our Amerindian, African, Indian, Chinese, and Spanish ancestors. What is the secret to your longevity as a Soca artiste? It’s a bit challenging to pin a response down to one particular thing but I would say that I am intentional about paying attention to what is happening around me and in my industry regionally and internationally. I also pay very close attention to trends and the changes that are taking place. Those closest to my business and career will also tell you that I do not shy away from investing in my craft. I have been consistently investing in myself as a product so that I can continue to thrive in this space. Soca has grown and there are discussions for Soca to be recognized as its own genre on billboards. What do you think the tipping point has to be to get Soca to crossover mainstream? Support! Our music is amazing, but we need the support of our fellow countrymen and the diaspora. We need the streams and numbers. We also need constructive and positive conversations surrounding the genre so the genre can be better understood. About 6 months ago you did a virtual concert “Strength of a Woman”. Tell us about that, how it originated and what the experience was like doing a virtual show. I did the virtual SOAW in 2021 and opted not to do it in 2022. A few years ago, my team and I felt that it was time to take my career to another level. We looked at my body of work and the fact that it was time to do something special for my supporters. It made sense to present me to my supporters in a more meaningful way and we thought that my own concert would be it. We did it for 2 years in person and then the pandemic forced us to venture into the digital space. Every execution was immensely supported, and I am extremely thankful for the support that I have received thus far. Carnival is a go this year and everyone is excited about its return. Why is carnival so important to the culture? It’s part of who we are as a people. Without jumping too deeply into slavery this is us being free. When slavery ended our people had a reason to celebrate, we were finally allowed to indulge in our culture. For me, it allows me to express myself through music even more and to interact with my supporters on a different level. The energy through Carnival time is insane, I cannot describe it, but you literally must be here in Trinidad and Tobago to experience it. Every island has some unique elements to its carnivals also and I am always happy to be part of that because it also allows me to learn from the different cultures.

We recently interviewed Nessa Preppy, and she mentioned you as one of her top female artists to work with. Tell us about the song “SPLASH”, how it came about, and your experience collaborating with Nessa. Nessa is such an amazing young woman and such a joy to be around. Splash has been career-defining for both of us and we have enjoyed performing it together and apart all over the world. That track was produced by Dan Evens from Martinique and Trinidad and Tobago’s Travis World and written by Shumba. When we both heard it, we just knew that we could create an amazing track together and we were right. “Splash” is still growing and still reaching people in new places. We are forever thankful. You’ve collaborated with Lyrikal, Kerwin, Its Drue, and others; tell us who you would like to collaborate with in the future. I have my eyes set on the African market. I’ve already collaborated with the very talented Afro B but I do want to find a space in that genre. I really do want to learn and submerse myself in the culture and respectfully add my bits and pieces to what is already an amazing movement. My goal is to find creative ways to introduce Soca music and myself to new markets. I saw you perform for Nessa Preppy’s boat ride, alongside Nessa, Destra, and Nailah Blackman, which was one of the last events for Trinidad carnival; the performance was electrifying, and I absolutely enjoyed seeing the women dominating the stage. Paint a picture for us of what you experience during a performance with some of the most dynamic women in Soca. Our industry is tough for us women, so I am always happy when opportunities pop up for me to share the same space with the talented women in my genre. I am happy to see that everyone is doing well. Were you expecting Dru to publicly propose? I am happy to be embarking on this new journey with Ricardo. After dating for quite some time, the ultimate progression would have been marriage. I knew we were heading there; I just was extremely shocked and overwhelmed by his public proposal during Druesday. I did not see that one coming at all!

90's Dancehall has a special place in the hearts of Jamaicans. It was the highlight of this year's staging of the greatest Reggae show on earth- Reggae Sumfest which was held at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay. The tribute to one of the most prolific producers of that era- Dave Kelly- brought out some of the biggest names in Dancehall. Top artistes such as; Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Baby Cham, Spragga Benz, Frisco Kid, Wayne Wonder and Mr. Easy all took to the stage to deliver stirring performances that paid homage to the living legend, who stayed true to his nature and remained backstage, taking in the show, and refused any attempt at coming on stage to receive any praise. He however, had a hand in the tribute as he did the choreography for the set. It was a night of reggae, dancehall and pure Jamaican culture that left the crowd wanting more. The collaborations between the various artistes was something to behold as they bounced off each other's energy and delivered hit after hit. Out, Fiesta, Haunted, Stink and Murderation.TheKing of Dancehall Beenie Man who had three outfit changes for the set ignited the crowd with fan favorites like “Ole Dog” and “Wickedest Slam.” Bounty Killa had the crowd roaring to hits like “Can’t Believe Mi Eyes,” “Poor People Fed Up,” and “Look Into My Eyes.” Cham, who was performing in Jamaica for the first time in a while, came good on his set, which also had the crowd jumping in a frenzy. He covered some of his classics, including tracks like “Vitamin S,” “Ghetto Story,” and “Joyride.” The other performers, including Frisco Kid, Spragga Benz, Wayne Wonder and Mr. Easy, all delivered rousing performances. The show ended with a massive sing-along of some of Kelly's most iconic songs like 'Nah Goa So' and ' Madness', which had the entire audience on their feet, dancing and singing along. It was truly a magical moment and a fitting tribute to one of reggae's unsung heroes. For many, the solidarity of all the artistes on stage was also a remarkable achievement considering many of them rose to fame through clash culture, but it was clear that each artiste had a great deal of respect for Kelly and his contribution to their careers. The unity on stage was a testament to the power of dancehall music and its ability to bring people together. It was a night to remember for all who were in attendance.

I know how being overweight can affect many aspects of your life and I want to help people discover the benefits and joys of training that helped me become the person I am today.” Deeja officially started her fitness journey in 2020 after the first phase of the lockdown in Trinidad and Tobago caused her to overeat and gain a few extra pounds. “For as long asI’veknownmyself, I’ve always been passionate about sport and fitness, but it never translated to gains because I’m also very passionate about food. I viewed food negatively though, so I would under-eat when preparing for a trip or event, then binge eats after, then under-eat again. It became a ridiculous weight fluctuation cycle.”I was fed up with that cycle, so I re-joined the gym and immersed myself in a new lifestyle and have never regretted it. I was able to lose body fat and gain muscle because of my consistency and the understanding that food is nourishment. I am still amazed at times when I see what my body is capable of and how it is transforming. Deeja currently trains five days per week at D Dial Fitness Gym in Trinidad. She incorporates a mixture of strength training and cardio each day.“For me, a healthy lifestyle is much more than just lifting weights. It’s about stretching, warming up, eating healthily, getting the necessary rest and enough sleep.”Whether your goal is to lose body fat, improve your body image, or just lead a healthier lifestyle, I would like to share five things that helped me move in the direction of my goals.1.Eating80% Whole Foods and 20%“soul” foods. This simply means, eating more foods that are not processed or processed minimally (fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains)over their less nutritious counterparts.
