Clay Design for Adults

In this Beginner and Intermediate class students will learn to make jewelry, pottery and sculpture with hand building methods. The use of texture and design will also be taught to embellish the projects. The final product will be glazed. All class materials are included.

Beginning Pottery – Wheelwork

Instructed by Margo Berke Mondays | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Dates: February 10, 17, 24th; March 3,10, and 24th. While this class is designed with the beginning ceramics student in mind. Anyone with potter’s wheel experience is encouraged to join for six weeks of “fun in the mud”! Proper techniques will be emphasized to encourage success at any level. Students typically create 4-6 finished pieces of pottery. Class is limited to 5 Adult students. All class materials are included.

The Cookie Jar

This basket is woven over a gallon glass jar which helps retain the shape. Students may use a variety of reed sizes and colors and will receive a wooden lid.

The Swirl Basket

This basket is woven over a solid base with a divider that serves as a handle. The weaving up the side of the basket is continuous with different color reed added as the weaving progresses creating a “swirl” of color. The basket measures 10 inches wide by 7 high.

The Sturdy Market Basket

West Coast Swing & Bachata

Instructed by Clare Freeman Thursdays | 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Session 1: January 9, 16, 23, 30; February 6, and 13th. Session 2: February 20, 27; Mar. 6, 13, 20, and 27th. This class is aimed at novice and intermediate dancers. We will explore the basic patterns and styling of these upbeat, popular nightclub dances. West Coast Swing is the perfect dance for date night, weddings, cruises, and other social events. Bachata is a sassy Latin dance from the Dominican Republic. We recommend you bring a partner, but a partner is not required. No prior dance experience is necessary.

Square & Contra Dance

Instructed by Mark Baumann Tuesdays | 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM February 4,11,18, and 25th. (minimum of 8 students) Learn the basic steps for traditional square and contra dancing. The square dancing will be in the style that was common before the western style started, and contra dance is very similar to square dancing. No experience needed. This is an excellent activity for families with children about ten years old and up. Please bring comfortable shoes. This class is co-sponsored by the Wheatland Music Organization.

Nightclub Two-Step and Hustle

Join national Hustle award winner Clare Freeman for six weeks of Hustle and Nightclub Two-Step classes. We will explore the fundamental patterns of these “ballroom�/partner dances and then build musicality and styling. Hustle is a fast, fun, flashy nightclub dance that works well to popular hits and looks stunning on the dance floor of nightclubs, at weddings, at office parties, and at social dances. No experience necessary. If you have a partner, bring them! But partners are not required.
