Location The Circus Pavilion has proximity with many important parts of the campus, such as the Harvey Building, the Tindal Building, the Marconi, Student Village and Riverside Park, as well as with other amenities that are useful for students and teachers, such as shops, cafes, printing services, bus stop and bike racks. It is also located between two highly used pedestrian routes (in red). All of these aspects are crucial in order for the Circus Pavilion to become a campus landmark and a social gathering spot for students, teachers and employees.

Ample open plan floor space can be rearranged for hosting parties, cocktails, graduations and other university events.

Green roofing reduces the necessity for artificiial cooling systems during summer months, and it helps with noise reduction, by atenuating sound from outside by 40 decibels.

Anglia Ruskin University lacks a proper outdoor space for students, teachers and employees to hangout and relax that is properly protected from the weather specially rain, snow and intense heat. Therefore the amphitheatre is proposed in order to fill that gap, creating a public space in the heart of the university, accessible to the general public at all times. A retractable canvas awning protects users from weather conditions and it can be fully retracted in case weather conditions do not require it.
