Member of the Month: Katie Nguyen

1) What was your favorite service event and why? My favorite service event would the Mid Autumn Festival because it was my very first event when I joined Key Club. I was nervous at first, but I made some new friends through the event and overall, had a great experience. 2) What are some of your hobbies? Some of my hobbies are filming/editing videos and watching Korean dramas. 3) What do you enjoy most about Key Club? I enjoy that people can help people through these service events, and developing friendships along the way. 4) Why is volunteering important to you? I believe volunteering is important because you get to learn new things about the world and help revolutionize it one step at a time . These past few months, Katie has taken on a lot more initiative in the club. Attending Fall Rally North, Katie positively and powerfully shaped the energy of the group. Katie has even made time for attending division service events. Being involved in many levels of Key Club- club, division and district- is something every Key Clubber should aspire to and Katie has already made time for each. Her service to her community should not be overlooked by her increasing participation in the club. At every service event Katie has attended, she has shown passion and commitment for the work she is doing. Katie has already shown the potential needed to be a great leader in Key Club.

November DCM + Service Pr This was my first time attending a division event, and I had lots of fun making different crafts at each of the different stations. Although the weather was rainy and cold, many of the people who came that day stayed to finish each project, despite the torrid weather conditions. After the service was over, the DCM started and although I didn't know what was really happening, I learned that Key Club is a bigger organization than I thought it was and it expanded to other places, not just in our area. - Emily Chau

Franklin, Pleasant Grove, & Lagu

The inter club on Saturday was a great bonding experience. I was able to connect with new members from other schools and learn about what they do for their key club all while working together to make dog toys. We had great cooperation and it was an eye opener to how you don't need to be friends with a person to together. I also got the opportunity to work with Mr. Shimada, our club advisor, who helped us make dog toys and even brought some food. I think, and hope, that he enjoyed the experience with us like I did with him. All in all, I hope we have more interclubs; They're a unique and easy to plan event that brings together some of the most unexpected people.
