Introducing a vibrant season of work is always exciting for me, but as we welcome you back through our doors this autumn it will be more special than ever. We hope you’ll have seen us online over the past year for one of our digital commissions. Maybe you caught Separation, filmed right here in Doncaster or you might have seen us ‘Casting Hope’ across the borough with a commission created by Akeim Buck and performed by young people. Or were you one of the lucky ones to catch one of our socially distanced performances? We know many of you will have been eagerly anticipating our re-opening, waiting for that season brochure to land on the doormat and I’m please to say that this season will not disappoint. The first few months will be filled with some all-time music favourites, including Magic of Motown and Queen Rapsody, plus drama returns to our Main Space with Absurd Person Singular. You can catch our large scale outdoor events in partnership with Global Streets, where we’ll be putting the spotlight on climate change and enjoying a rainbow light display, plus the Doncaster Reggae Festival produced in partnership with the Doncaster African Caribbean Support Group staged in the town centre as part of Doncaster Live. Plus, Paines Plough’s Roundabout in the Market Square is also back at the beginning of October, watch out for the yellow dome, filled with new pieces of drama and local community performances. All this before we turn our attentions to the festive

season, where we’re thrilled to be opening up all our spaces, starting with Wish, a magical show created by Cast specifically for babies and their carers. This beautiful, sensory theatre experience is for babies from 6 months. We also have the enchanting Snow Mouse for toddlers age 18 months + to enjoy in a ‘snow filled’ wonderland. And, of course Aladdin, our long-awaited pantomime is back to be enjoyed by all the family. With a couple of rubs of Aladdin’s lamp we hope our annual pantomime will sit at the heart. Alongside the excitement of reopening the theatre, we want to reassure our audiences that Cast has the ‘Good to Go’ kitemark which means that we are operating to the highest of Covid safety standards. We know that for some people, however, coming back to the theatre will have some trepidation. Please head to our website to see our Covid Guideline for details of how visiting Cast will work this autumn. Everyone’s safety remains without question our number one priority. It’s been a long 18 months and I for one can’t wait to experience that moment of shared joy with you all that only live theatre can bring – I hope to see you here!
