The First Weekend in October What is the Castle Educational Home Tour? This Educational Home Tour started in 2013 and was designed to help people understand what a realistic remodel involves as well as, but not limited to, what is achievable within their budget to create a project that provides both an ROI (return on investment) and ROE (return on enjoyment). Our goal is to show more typical remodeling projects that the average family is more likely to complete.

How is this home tour different from other home tours? Because of the costs to remodelers to participate in other tours (about $1,000 – $2,700 per home) they tend to only show their largest and fanciest projects. Our goal is to show more typical remodeling projects that the average family is more likely to complete. This event is different because it is all projects completed by Castle. It is a weekend to showcase our best work to the public and educate them on our services. This weekend is designed to help inspire and educate attendees on future remodeling projects. We firmly believe in being up front about all things, and this tour is a great way for us to showcase our honesty behind our work.

A traditional home tour with digital additions! During the month leading up to the tour and at the actual tour you can pick up a copy of our Home Tour Guide Book. Most projects start with a design and the experienced designers, led by owner Jason Rathe, are especially good at listening and making sure that the end product gives you time to enjoy the space rather than laboring to keep it up. Field design balances well-thought out living areas with plantings that give a sense of a natural and living environment. Garages If you are looking for a new detached garage, Castle recommends Minneapolis Garage Construction, LLC. Owner, Joe Slavec, has a family history of building that dates back to 1937 and takes pride in each customized garage his company builds. Minneapolis Garage works in both Minneapolis and St. Paul and is a licensed building contractor. Minneapolis Garage offers a thorough design process that allows materials to be chosen that match your home or personal tastes and budget. Their garage building schedule is approximately 21 days from start to completion. Most projects begin with the tear down of an existing garage, tear out of the concrete slab, and pouring a new floating slab with footings to code to support your new structure. Garages are typically built from early spring to winter and take several weeks of planning before a project can begin. To get started on your garage project please give Castle a call.
