Designing Environment

Introduction and practices to processes and methods of designing and creative thinking by analysing the social, logistical, economic and resource aspects that contribute to design task and outcomes. For more information regarding this project, please scan the QR code.

Architecture Design Studio: Earth The first architecture studio where the focus is generating ideas and translating them into architectural from/space/materials/programme, refining the architecture through consideration of arrical, cirvulation, light, views and etc and communicate it through 2D and 3D visual media and oral presentation. The theme to this studio is earth, where it is explored conceptually through the topography, context, material investigation, compositional methods, foundational ideas.

Digital Design and Fabrication

Contemporary digital design software, tools and technology with a broader view using these tools, medium and techniques for design purposes and execution of design intend. The design intend of this is an approach towards personal space. This project required extensive knowledge and skills in digital medium like Rhinoceros for both designing and for the fabrication process through laser cutter.

Construction Analysis

Cave House by McBride Charles Ryan

This explores the idea of construction as a process linking specific principles, materials, elements, systems and techniques strategically. Using a set of individual buildings as case studies, Construction Analysis will review and explain the physical anatomy of given technological types, emphasizing their latitude for change within accepted mechanical performance frameworks. The case study for this is a residential house, Cave House by renowed Australian architect, McBride Charles Ryan. This project required extensive drafting skills in digital medium like AutoCad.

Construction Design

Elizabeth Blackburn School of Science by ClarkeHopkinsClarke

Knowledge and understanding of contemporary construction theory and practice was put into application through the construction of a 1:20 scale model and an axonometric drawing of a pre-existing commercial building section. The allocated building was the Elizabeth Blackburn School of Science by Clarke Hopkins Clarke. The model required extensive model-making skill and time-management to achieve a model that could demonstrate strong understanding of construction detailing and techniques within the industry

Architecture Design Studio: Fire The final undergraduate studios. The focus of the investigations of this subject will be architecture in an urban context, which will be explored by students designing a school, etc. The project will engage with historical, theoretical, structural, and environmental ideas relevant to the specific project through the lectures and various set design exercises. This project is an refubishment project which showcase understanding, convincing and innovatively link the relationship between the selected or developed theory or theories, the site, the city, the architectural program, and the architectural intervention.
