The Bullfest group would like to welcome you to the 2023 edition of the bull sale. This year we feel the group has assembled a selection of overwhelming quality genetics whether it be traditional, red, or black. The investment in quality seedstock has always been a commitment of this group and we think that is evident in the high quality represented from front to back in this year’s offering. This year’s sale is a one stop shop for any producer looking for bulls to use on heifers, bulls to add pounds to your calves, or bulls to create a pen of excellent replacement females. It is an exciting time to be in the cattle business with markets trending in an upward direction, and look no further for your next herd sire to accelerate your program forward. Customer service has always been of utmost importance and we believe this is demonstrated by the confidence in the large amount of repeat buyers. Feel free to contact any of the consignors with any questions you may have and we would be more than happy to help; or better yet stop by for a visit, the coffee is always on. Thank you from the Bullfest group to all our previous buyers and we look forward to seeing you all at the sale!

EPD EXPLANATION EPDs are “Expected Progeny Difference”. They are a useful tool in selection. EPD incorporate the individual animal with its ancestry performance. EPDs do not compare across cattle breeds. They are individual based per breed. EPDs indicate a probable variance above or below breed average for that trait for a given bull’s progeny. The accuracy of EPDs for calendar year bull calves is generally about 20% (one out of five times) so use it cautiously. One of several selection tools.

A moderate framed bull who's dam was a late born orphan, so we kept her back from breeding the next year. For this being her first calf, she did quite a job. He was weaned at 966 lbs in the first week of September and has a quiet disposition just like his dam. You'll be impressed with his stoutness and depth of body.

This bull goes back to the Glory cow on the bottom side that was a foundational building block years back. After she raised a number of Fleckvieh herd bulls we flushed her to Razzmatazz. Some twenty years later, I gave one of the embryos to Linden (hence the LPS tattoo), resulting in Southseven Honey. We bred her to Outlook and the result was this stylish, dark red herd bull.

You have to admire what the dam of this bull did by weaning probably 80% of her body weight. She was bred back and calved her second calf in the middle of January. A beautiful Viper female. But it's no surprise to me because she's a full embryo sib to the dam of LPS 3K and goes back to the Glory cow family. I keep repeating how many of the bulls this year are from first calvers. No one touring the bull pen would ever guess this guy was from a heifer. Something just clicked with the Outlook x Goldrush combination, resulting in one of the highest performing bulls in the pen. His birth weight was up there for a heifer but with his extreme length he was born unassisted.

Every year it seems that we have a curious George in the pen. This year Kokanee is that bull. If he's not chewing on the tripod while we’re taking pictures, then he’s busy pulling out my tractor hydraulic caps. He is definitely a character, but is also impressive and one of the easiest bulls to work with. He is sired by an Adonis 30X son you may not of heard much about yet as he got injured the first two breeding seasons prior to breeding.

As always, we thank you for taking time to consider our offering this year at Bullfest and taking an interest in our program. We'd like to extend a special thank you to our previous years buyers, as we wouldn't be where we are today without you. 2022 was the year we could finally get back to a mask-free way of life and be able to connect with fellow cattlemen face to face and we look forward to our future interactions with you all and connecting with you at our upcoming sale. Last year brought solid calf prices, and in some areas of the province Mother Nature even replenished some of our forage reserves that took a hit in 2021. This has us optimistic for us cattlemen in 2023. Each new year introduces new changes, challenges, weather patterns, genetics and the list goes on. One thing we can say for sure is, no matter what we have coming ahead, our utmost priority is producing animals that are more efficient, phenotypically appealing, and that work-- and we can attribute that to our cow herd. We began in 2010 and wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for the mother cows walking our farm. Our cows are our livelihood which results in a strict culling protocol. Our cows have been selected for a good foot, longevity, milk production, and ones that put their energy into raising their offspring. We believe in this group of bulls on offer as many of their sisters have been retained in our herd and half brothers have sold in this sale which is why we fully stand behind them. As always, pictures and videos of our consignments can be found on our website www.foreseecattleco.com. If you have any questions or would like to stop in for a farm tour, we welcome you! See you sale day and we wish you all the best in the 2023 calving season.

27K is a bull that we believe really puts it all together. Big footed, square hipped, deep bodied, dark red, polled, and out of one of the best females on the farm who will be entering the donor pen this spring. 27K is backed by a proven cow family as his dam has registered every live calf she has had. Last year she raised a heifer calf selling to Robb Farms for 11k in the Border City Simmental sale. In addition to a proven cow family, he is also sired by our Blackgold Bryk herd sire who has done some great things for us since being purchased. Bryk has sired many high selling bulls and females for us who have been well appraised by both commercial and purebred cattlemen, and this may just be his best calf yet. 27K demands attention when you walk in the pen which his high neck attachment and smooth skull structure. He also ranks in the top 20 percentile in both performance epd categories; impressive for a polled bull. We really believe this bull has the potential to do some real good things for his new owners.

Here is another Bryk sired calf that is about as dark as you can make one that carries extra length of spine in a polled package. Another performance type bull that doubled his weaning to yearling weight which is something that is difficult to do. If you take a look 13K has gained nearly 5lbs a day from weaning to yearling which is an impressive number, an indication that this his calves should gain at a high rate for his new owners. If you’re looking for a bull with a ton of capacity, thickness, and muscle dimension that still stays sound in his movement, then this one would be right for you.

When thinking of this calf, it is tough to know where to start, but his dam Mader Opal 1E would probably be a good place. The opal cow family needs no introduction in the Simmental breed, and when we purchased 1E out of Friday Night Lights as a high seller a few years back we had high expectations. She has exceeded them all. Recently being the mother to our 24k bred heifer that sold to Hankirk land and Cattle at the Border City Sale and our 12k heifer calf that sold to the great folks at Tandem T Farms at Friday Night Lights. Opal has done nothing but produce and is a what we consider a foundational type female. Being mothered by our opal cow and sired by the 180k R Plus Yuma whose bulls were well received across the prairies last spring, we really believe we have taken the guess work out on the potential 16k has for his new owners. 16K himself his a high performance type calf with a adjusted yearling weight of almost 1600lbs. You really have to admire him for his muscle dimension, depth of body, eye appeal, and ease with which he moves. Longevity has been bred into this calf. We believe this is one you will appreciate from all angles and is a calf that will be easy to find on sale day. HOMO POLLED

Another calf that nearly doubled his weight from weaning to yearling. 40K is the type of bull that will sire heifers you will want to keep as well as heavy weight steers. His dam is a real big bodied, powerhouse type female we purchased out of Friday Night Lights from Mcintosh Livestock that is becoming a front-end producer for us. A common theme for our bulls this year is the proven, high production mothers of our calves, and 40k is no different. Here is one you can be confident in.

This is the first year for our calves off our Battle Cry calving ease specialist that we have been using on our fullblood heifers. 8K is stamped just like his sire being blood red in color that comes in a more moderate framed package. Battle Cry progeny have been extremely sought after in recent years and his semen has been sold at auction for as much as 400/dose just last December. We believe 8K would work great for someone looking for some more calving ease without giving up a lot of performance. He carries a smooth shoulder and tidy skull structure which should make him very serviceable on 2nd calvers as well as some larger heifers. NON-DILUTER PENDING

Another polled calf off our Battle Cry herd-sire that carries more white pigmentation. With an 86lb birth weight and being born un-assisted 18K is a bull that should work well as amore calving ease herd sire. We have quite a few females working for us out of our “22” line. These cattle are easy doing with nice udder structures and always seem to stand the test of time.

When we purchased these embryos from our friends at Blackgold it is an understatement to say that we were excited to get these calves on the ground. 2 full sibs out of the great Soda Pop 425B. As you start to analyze these brothers I think the epd profiles will grab your attention. Top 1% for both yearling and weaning weights with respectable calving ease numbers. 3K was part of our show string this fall and won his king of the ring class at the Lloyd Stockade Roundup. Just an early February calf that has an adjusted weaning weight close to 1600. I don’t know if we have ever raised a bull with as much muscle and hip as this calf manages to carry. His full brother, 4K, comes in a more moderate type package and is one we would be confident in using in the heifer pen. Being born at just 82lbs he has really come into himself being as deep bodied and well put together as one can make em’. The Soda Pop cow family is one that has really made a name for itself in the Simmental breed. The 425B cow has sired as many high selling females as any other in 40,30, and 20 thousands. You can have tons of confidence in the calves of these two bulls, and you will definitely want to keep every female.

HOMO BLACK PENDING

Two more Yuma calves of the high performance variety where you can choose your color, red or black. Out of our lead red donor, Cipher, here are two more royally bred bull calves that you can have the utmost confidence. Cipher has been siring great calves, both male and female for many years. A recent bred heifer sold to McIntosh Livestock in the Border City Sale this past December and her bull calves have been well received across many different sales. Her current earning are well above 100k and she has approximately 25 registered calves in the CSA, a true testament to her high production. High performance epd’s with a sprinkle of calving ease indicate both bulls should sire calves that are born easy and grow. Both 47K/37K are nice haired, big hipped, and carry that extra eye appeal with a higher neck attachment and cleaner front end. 37K carries more body adjusting to over 1500lbs on his yearling and would be more performance of the two while 47K may be just a tad more moderate in his design.

Announcements - Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.
Registry of Cattle - The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.
Settlement - No incidental expenses such as feed, care, A.I. signing fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal in question to be a breeder, then said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser. Should the seller fail to prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of a replacement animal, the consignor will appoint a mediator. Accidents - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comforts of buyers, neither the consignors., the auctioneer, or association assumes any responsibility in this matter, and disclaims any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accidents or loss of property.
Rights and Obligations - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two.
