Airports:

• Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport – Located on the southwest side of Spartanburg, this general aviation airport provides flight instruction, aircraft rentals, sales, and charter services.

Public Transportation:

• Spartanburg Area Regional Transit Agency (SPARTA) – Spartanburg’s affordable public bus service reaches several destinations beyond the city limits and includes a door-to-door Paratransit van service for residents with mobility impairments.

• Trails & Cycling: • In 2007, Spartanburg became the first Bicycle Friendly Community in South Carolina, as recognized by the League of American Bicyclists. Hospitals:

• Spartanburg Regional Health Care System provides multiple locations serving Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties in South Carolina, as well as Polk and Rutherford counties in North Carolina.

• ReGenesis Health Care is one of 19 federally qualified community health centers in South Carolina. As a community-based, non-profit organization, it provides comprehensive healthcare to all patients according to their ability to pay.

Spartanburg County Schools

Spartanburg County, made up of seven independent school districts, provides award-winning programs in academics, athletics, and the arts and maintains some of the highest-rated public schools in the state. Students also have access to programs that allow them to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously, and Spartanburg public schools continue to implement innovative educational initiatives. South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind

Neighborhood: The small communities of Inman, Campobello, and Landrum are defined by their charming main streets, spacious homes, and rural tranquility, all while offering convenient access to I-26. After the textile industry moved overseas, the mill towns struggled. With new industries and economic growth, they have come back stronger than ever. Rich in natural beauty, Duncan, Wellford, and Lyman offer many opportunities for outdoor recreation and simply “taking in the view.”

WESTSIDE SPARTANBURG/ROEBUCK/MOORE

Neighborhood: Home to family-friendly attractions like Walnut Grove Plantation and Croft State Park, this large area of Spartanburg County stretches north toward Inman and south toward Woodruff. It’s also home to Spartanburg Community College and Spartanburg Methodist College, two key institutions in the region.

Neighborhood: Cowpens is home to the historic Cowpens National Battlefield, where the Battle of Cowpens was fought more than two hundred years ago during the Revolutionary War. The town was founded near the site of the fighting after the Americans won this battle against the Black Legion of British Soldiers. The name “Cowpens” came from the rural setting - pasture, farms and of course, cow pens. Cowpens’ neighbor, Pacolet, has been called “an undiscovered gem” and boasts a local farmer’s market and many historic civic buildings, including a circa-1915 three-room schoolhouse that is being turned into a living history resource for local students.

Housing: Both towns offer stunning farmhouses on expansive acreage, as well as unique cottages and bungalows in quiet residential areas.

Lifestyle: Cowpens and Pacolet are both thriving communities with strong ties to their past. Those who put down roots in one or the other will find an abundance of fun community events, like the Mighty Moo Festival in Cowpens, and beautiful natural landmarks, like the Pacolet River.

WOODRUFF

16.7 miles/25 minute drive time to Downtown Quaint, Family Friendly

Neighborhood: Located to the east of Five Forks along Woodruff Rd., the City of Woodruff traces its origins back to a man named Joseph Woodruff, who, in the late 1700s, received a land grant of 200 acres that would become Woodruff. Although it took nearly one hundred years for the town to establish itself on Joseph Woodruff’s land, Woodruff is now home to a thriving business community.

Housing: Woodruff is home to many historic homes, the oldest of which stands on Main Street and dates back to the 1830s. The town’s agricultural roots remain visible in the abundance of rural neighborhoods and farmland, dotted with both older and newly constructed farmhouse-style homes, that stretch throughout the area.

Lifestyle: Right next door to Five Forks’ busy commercial district, and only ten minutes from the east side of Greenville, Woodruff residents enjoy easy access to all of the area’s amenities, with the added bonus of coming home to the countryside’s peace and quiet.

RENTAL HOME AND APARTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Rental properties are available throughout the Spartanburg area. For single-family properties, rental rates range from $700 to $4,000 per month, depending on location and size. Most single-family rentals require a minimum one-year lease and a security deposit equal to at least one month’s rent.

Multifamily rentals are prevalent throughout the Spartanburg market. Rental rates for a three-bedroom multifamily unit range from $695 to $2,100, while four-bedroom units rent from $1,425 to $2,100, depending on the apartment’s quality and community. Some multifamily rental communities offer shorter lease terms starting at six weeks, with the option to extend after the initial 12-month lease expires.

Garages are available for an additional $100 to $150 per month. Most apartment communities feature amenities such as swimming pools, fitness centers, on-site laundry facilities, and business centers.
