W RLD A Little Boy’s Prayer See how you are bringing joy to children like Sasha Sasha, who was living in Kharkiv, Ukraine, faced severe adversity. Sadly, this 6-year-old boy couldn’t walk because a disease had destroyed his hip joints. Then when the war started, Sasha and his parents left for Poland because their house was too close to the front lines. This was an especially difficult time, as they lived in a shelter until a family could take them in. Despite these challenges, Sasha held on to his dream of meeting Robik (Gizmo) because he is a fan of CBN Animation’s Superbook. Sasha’s parents advised him to pray and ask God to meet Robik. When the Superbook team held an event nearby where Robik was present, Sasha knew that God had answered him. Sasha was so elated that he started laughing excitedly and clapping his hands. He said, “I prayed for Robik for so long, and God heard my prayer.” 2 | CBN ANIMATION CLUB
Although Andini was being raised in a non-Christian home in Manado, Indonesia, she regularly attended Sunday school. But this 12-year-old girl would often misbehave. She didn’t like to follow instructions, particularly when her teacher asked her to complete a task. Then, her perspective changed when she learned about Jonah from the Bible in a Superbook discipleship class. Andini realized the importance of listening to others. And, like Jonah, she wanted to turn from her mistakes. She apologized to her teacher and now shows love and respect to her peers. She has also learned the value of humility and prayer. YOUR LOVE IS TRANSFORMING THE WORLD South Africa CBN partnered with Christian Literature Fund to initiate an event called “Rhythm Run” to raise awareness about mental health. During the event, Superbook team members entertained children with arts and crafts while parents and caregivers participated in the run. “Rhythm Run” provided an ideal platform to introduce the Superbook brand to unbelievers. Through educational activities, listeners learned about Jesus through Superbook’s valuable content.

In June 2023, the Superbook team in Ukraine created Disciples of Christ Camp, a local summer day camp program designed for children aged 6 to 14. The eight-day camp offered a different theme per day—with each theme representing qualities that are present in Christ followers. The program actively utilized the Superbook Kids Bible app to help educate the young attendees about God’s Word.
Also in June, a ministry team launched a successful summer Bible camp and teacher training program in the province of Gia Lai, where 37 teachers from 19 churches participated. At the conclusion of the program, 24 churches in Gia Lai used the Superbook Academy curriculum to teach Bible lessons to more than 500 children that summer.

WAYS YOU CAN PRAY KENYA: Pray for the salvation of parents who are living in slum areas so they can raise their children to know the ways of the Lord and be ministers of His Word. SOUTH AFRICA: Pray for the launch of the Superbook Academy website, Superbook translation projects for isiZulu and Afrikaans, and for wisdom and accuracy in translating messages to effectively reach children in these languages. We are looking to launch Superbook on the radio in collaboration with our partner radio stations and are praying for wisdom in this process.

CARING PARTNERS ARE HEALING HEARTS IN THE MIDST OF DESTRUCTION CBN Animation Offers Peace and Perspective in the Midst of Chaos The sound of bombs and the images of destruction have resulted in millions of traumatized children in Ukraine. In an effort to protect their young ones, many mothers have escaped to Poland with their children. To ease their trauma, CBN partners made it possible for a Filipino Superbook team to travel to Poland to minister healing and hope. Rylowa and her family are from Kharkiv, Ukraine. She and her three children were staying at a shelter in Poland. “It was so hard to leave the most important people in your family, but our children wake up to the sound of the bombing at five in the morning,” said Rylowa. “It is not safe for them anymore.” Rylowa says her 9-year-old son, Roma, gives her strength. “His older sister was crying over the situation, but Roma didn’t cry because he thinks he is now the man in the family and so he should be brave.” The effects of war on a child can be long-lasting. This is why the Superbook Philippines leader, Icko Gonzalez, pushed to bring Gizmo and the Superbook team to create happier memories for these children. “The first time we meet them, they have blank faces—unsure if they will receive you or not. But the moment you smile, hug them, and show love to them, they reciprocate,” Gonzalez said. Roma, along with the other children, enjoyed the fun activities provided by the team with the help of the Superbook staff in Ukraine. During 4 | CBN ANIMATION CLUB
the three-day camp, they were delighted to watch Superbook’s “In the Beginning” and meet Gizmo, who is known to them as Robik. Ukrainian kids, Anya and Nazar, said they had a lot of fun in the Superbook camp. When asked what she learned from “In the Beginning,” Anya replied, “God loves.” Regarding Superbook, Rylowa said, “It makes them happy to see all of this and to continue living with hope.” Roma added, “I like watching the movie and playing games. My favorite is ‘In the Beginning’ about the fight between God and the devil. God created the whole world. He is powerful, and He can stop the war in Ukraine.” Rylowa and her children went back to Kharkiv to be reunited with her husband. It is still not completely safe there, but they can now go back with the renewed confidence that God is with them. Here in America, children are protected from the ravages of war, but natural disasters still bring trauma to young hearts, such as when Hurricane Ida devastated parts of Louisiana. While families were reeling from the damage and struggling to rebuild their lives, CBN partners brought a ray of sunshine with special Superbook gift boxes. Hundreds of Christmas boxes were distributed that included a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card, Superbook DVDs, and a devotional. Samuel, a relief coordinator at a partner church, shared that these gifts came at a crucial time for

the majority of families in the LaPlace parish of St. John. He says most families are still recovering from the catastrophic storm and otherwise wouldn’t have much to give this Christmas. His wife and co-worker at the church, Kristen, said that it not only blessed the parents who are struggling to buy their kids Christmas presents, but it also provided hope—because these gifts bring desperate families an opportunity to invite Jesus into their hearts and see Him begin to work in their lives. Psalm 9:9 says, The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Compassionate partners are sharing God’s love through CBN Animation’s Superbook so children will know that God will never leave them nor forsake them. Thank you for blessing families who suffered during Hurricane Ida.

When Bebe was 11, she was inspired by Superbook’s “A Giant Adventure.” She shared, “I have watched almost every episode, and the episode that I like the most is about David and Goliath. I am confident that when God is with you, there is nothing you can’t do. I promise to stay on God’s path like how I have been taught.”

Ten-year-old Len was curious about who created the world. But when she asked her friends, she wanted to know more. A Christian friend told her about Jesus, yet it wasn’t until Len visited a church near her home in Cambodia and watched Superbook’s “In the Beginning” that her heart was touched. Afterward, Len prayed to become a Christian. Now Len is excited to share the Good News with others, including one of her friends who came to the Lord. “Thank you to everyone who helped me know Jesus through Superbook!” she said joyfully.
