A Divine Calling Unconditional Love:

Dear Arise Magazine Readers,

In a world often marked by turmoil and uncertainty, there is one constant, unchanging force that has the power to transform lives and bring hope to the hopeless - Unconditional Love. As we gather here in the pages of Arise Magazine, we want to delve into the depths of this profound love, reflecting on its significance and the role it plays in our mission at CBN SA through Superbook, Orphans Promise, and Operation Blessing.

Unconditional love is a theme woven intricately throughout the Bible, reminding us of the extraordinary love God has for each one of us. In 1 John 4:16, we are reminded that “God is love,” and in this love, there is no room for fear. It is a love that surpasses understanding, a love that perseveres through every trial, and a love that is offered freely, with no strings attached.

As we engage in the various facets of our ministry work, let us anchor ourselves in the unwavering truth of God’s unconditional love. Superbook, with its compelling stories, teaches children about this love that transcends time and circumstances. Orphans Promise extends the arms of love to those who may have felt abandoned, embodying the essence of God’s unconditional love for the vulnerable (James 1:27). Operation Blessing, with its humanitarian efforts, becomes a tangible expression of love to those in need, mirroring the compassionate acts of Christ during His earthly ministry.

Christ, our ultimate example of unconditional love, demonstrated it through His life, death, and resurrection. His sacrificial love knew no bounds, reaching out even to the most undeserving. In Romans 5:8, we are reminded, “But God demonstrates his own

love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This is the benchmark for our own capacity to love unconditionally – a love that goes beyond comfort zones, prejudices, and expectations.

Our partners play a vital role in extending this love to countless lives through their support of our work. Your generosity allows us to be the hands and feet of Christ, bringing light to dark places and offering hope to the broken-hearted. Thank you for being instruments of God’s unconditional love in the lives of those we serve.

As we navigate the challenges of our world, let us heed the call to love unconditionally, following the example of Christ. In doing so, we become a beacon of hope, a testament to the transformative power of love in the lives of those we encounter. Together, as the body of Christ, let us continue to sow seeds of unconditional love as we reflect the very heart of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Queen’s story of resilience and determination

In the heart of southern Africa lies Zambia, a land brimming with warmth and hospitality. Despite its dedication to education, with over 80% primary school enrolment, the harsh realities of poverty and soaring unemployment persist. For many children, dreams are shattered as they’re forced to abandon their education due to financial constraints, lack of basic necessities like clothing and nutrition, and the daunting task of having to fend for themselves at a tender age.

Amidst these challenges, there shines a beacon of hope embodied in Queen’s remarkable journey of resilience. Her story echoes the mission of Orphan’s Promise, which is deeply committed to rescuing children from perilous circumstances and nurturing them towards a future filled with promise and potential, as envisioned by God.

Meet Queen, a resilient young lady, who currently finds refuge in a police camp in Kitwe. Queen’s tumultuous journey began with the heartbreak of her parents’ divorce, leading to her relocation to a family member’s home where financial constraints abruptly halted her education in seventh grade. Left with no choice but to fend for herself, Queen found safety and compassionate care from church members within the police camp.

In the year 2019, a pivotal moment marked the beginning of Queen’s journey toward a brighter future. Queen found the courage

to confide in Mr. Mathias, the headmaster at Chibote School, sharing her story and her aspirations for advancing her education. Mr. Mathias encouraged Queen to retake seventh grade at Chibote School, pledging his support and guidance throughout the process. Upon receiving her exam results, Queen joyously advanced to eighth grade, a testament to her resilience and determination. Guided by Mr. Mathias’s compassion and with the assistance of Orphan’s Promise, Queen’s dreams of furthering her education were realized.

Through the support of Orphan’s Promise, Queen not only received educational assistance but was also encouraged during regular home visits and the delivery of essential food items for her family.

Today, Queen is a testament to the transformative power of other’s compassion and her resilience. With two years of support from Orphan’s Promise, she has not only reclaimed her place in school but has also advanced to grade ten, paving the way for a brighter future filled with increased possibilities.

Amid adversity, Orphan’s Promise continues to be a steadfast source of light, offering refuge and restoration to vulnerable children like Queen, empowering them to embrace their God-given potential and walk confidently into a future brimming with hope.

Queen desires to uplift and inspire fellow girls, urging them never to lose hope, for the Lord God, who sees all, offers salvation and aid to those who place their trust in Him.

Let us join in prayer for Queen, that her story may resonate deeply with others, and let us continue to lift in prayer all girls facing similar desperate circumstances, that they too may find solace and strength in the loving arms of God.

Operation Blessing Offering A Glimmer of Hope: One Blessing Bucket at a time

In the heart of the Western Cape, South Africa, our communities often face the relentless challenges posed by local disasters like fires and floods. These constantly looming tragedies thrust many into seasons of profound difficulty, where recovery may seem impossible.

It is a harsh reality that those hit hardest when disaster strikes, are those already struggling to make ends meet, residing in townships where access to basic services is a constant struggle. In the Western Cape, where winter floods and summer fires are all too common, there is a critical need for efficient disaster relief, particularly in vulnerable communities.

In such instances, Operation Blessing’s objective is clear: to extend a compassionate hand to those reeling from the aftermath of a disaster, offering not just physical aid but also the emotional and spiritual support necessary for survival. Through initiatives like our Blessing Buckets, we provide essential resources intended to safeguard the health, welfare, safety, and dignity of those affected.

Blessing Buckets, meet immediate needs in times of crisis. Each bucket is filled with carefully curated Non-Food Items (NFI) such as utensils, soap, cooking pots, solar lamps, and feminine hygiene products in addition to practical necessities, we include spiritual and educational materials in our kits. Bibles and health and safety pamphlets offer comfort and guidance in the midst of distress.

Each bucket distributed is a reminder to the recipient that they are not alone. Our commitment extends beyond the immediate aftermath, as we seek to support families in the long journey of rebuilding their lives.

Sacrificial love knows no bounds

In a world often marked by division and strife, the concept of unconditional love stands as a beacon of hope and healing. As Christians, we are called to embody this profound love, reflecting the very essence of our Creator who is love itself (1 John 4:8).

The Bible is replete with passages that illuminate the beauty and power of unconditional love. Perhaps one of the most well-known verses is found in John 3:16, where we are reminded of the depth of God’s love for us: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This sacrificial love knows no bounds, reaching out to each and every one of us, regardless of our shortcomings or failures.

We also see the example of unconditional love in the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). Despite his waywardness, the father welcomes him back with open arms, showing a love that transcends understanding.

In a world marred by brokenness and pain, let us be beacons of light, shining forth the love of Christ to all we encounter. May we seek to love unconditionally, just as our Heavenly Father loves us, and may this love transform lives and bring healing to our world.

As we embrace the divine mandate of unconditional love, let us remember the words of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not selfseeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

May we strive to embody this love in all that we do, bringing glory to God and drawing others into the embrace of His unconditional love.
