Juvenile Justice Center Outreach
several motorcycle ministries / car enthusiast groups participating.
Fresno, CA — An impactful outreach event occurred at the Juvenile Justice Campus (JJC) located in southwest Fresno recently on Saturday August 24th, 2024. Juvenile Institutional Ministries (JIM), led by Senior Chaplain Ron Climer, held a Christian based juvenile outreach on the campus grounds to reach the teenage residents, sharing the Word of God through live Praise & Worship music, preaching / exhortation and several heart-felt personal testimonies.
Four members of our Sword & Shield Riders CMA Clovis Chapter, along with three members from Riders on The Rock CMA Hanford Chapter, joined several other ministries that were invited to help share the Gospel in this youthful mission field. Cruising for Jesus (Horatio Aleman), Feed My Sheep Ministries (Pastor Bruce Hood), Men of Prayer International (MOPI), Warriors of Faith MM, and Broken Chains were among
The outreach event began at around 8:30am under cloudy & drizzly skies within one of the many outdoor open yards on the grass surrounded within the facility. As participants we rode our motorcycles in and drove our hot rods & low riders through two sets of barbed wire chainlink entry gates into the enclosed yard, surrounding its perimeter. Cruising for Jesus had an awesome enclosed trailer set-up that opens into a goodsized portable stage, complete with a self-contained sound system and a full band on hand!
The juvenile residents were generally positive and open during the event, thankful to the hospitality of their biker clad & hot-rodding guests and were a welcome break in their structured daily routines. They enjoyed snacks and snow cones out in the yard, seated at tables under the watchful and caring eyes of the staff and officers. We were allowed to interact and talk with them openly as they
were comfortable in doing so during the outreach. Many were quite talkative and were genuinely interested in getting to know us.
There were four one-hour presentations for the youth residents throughout the morning and into the early afternoon. Each shift presentation consisted of two separate
groups at a time from various pods (cell blocks) the juveniles are divided into, with each pod consisting of about 15-20 residents per side. There was bi-lingual Praise and Worship in English & Spanish, heartfelt sharing of the Gospel

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Richard Tilley OWNER/EDITOR
I usually don’t share my politics, but I won’t Vote for Kamala and I don’t wanna Vote for Trump neither lately. But I gotta Vote, to me it is a responsibility or never complain about how Our Country is if you didn’t at least try. That is how I feel…
I am an American and believe in Freedom, which to means Everything to me personally. With that being said, I will elaborate on what that means to me a bit more.
I look at Facebook and see folks hating each other for who they are supporting. I can understand that folks don’t agree with one another, but we need to keep in mind that everyone has the right to believe who you think is right. That doesn’t mean they are in our minds but remember that is their right as you have your right to believe your choice is right.
I just Pray whoever wins remember that the Represent
us all and that they are supposed to do what We The People are wanting and not their own agenda.
I also think the need to remember they are put in that position to Serve and Protect We the People. In my opinion, we need to stop sending Aid to other Countries until we have Our own People taken care of. We have people right here in America struggling to even be afford to pay our Rent, Buy Food to feed our families, get medical care as needed, but we send billions of dollars to help them in their need. I do think we need to help others but only after we take care of our own.
I My opinion we need to boot all the politicians out and start all over again.
Please Remember this is my opinion and we all are entitled to believe as we do, and no that doesn’t mean we are right or wrong it is just what we personally believe.
Outreach

Message and personal testimonials from many of those helping with the event, detailing how God had transformed their own life that was on a path of destruction, but God intervened. Alter calls were given towards the end of each presentation, giving the juvenile residents an opportunity of accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Numerous teenagers did just that, and teams prayed with each person in their newfound salvation!
There are approximately 150 juvenile residents currently incarcerated there, mostly boys and a few girls housed within. The youngest resident allowed in the system starts at 12 years old and can remain incarcerated there until the age of 25, depending on the severity of the sentence. The residents are housed in individual rooms and have daily gathering routines consisting of meals, exercise, gardening and other activities to help
improve their situation while serving their sentence. Those who exhibit good behavior are graded on a 4-tier behavior rating system and can even be involved in supervised off Campus outings like attending professional baseball games, camping, field trips, etc.
The JJC Administration, Campus Officers and Chaplains I personally met were very caring, informative and really seem to want the best for the juvenile residents of JJC Fresno. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and interacting with them in between and during the four event presentation shifts.
This outreach event has got me thinking and praying a bit differently about our youth. I just heard a statistic that over 50% of our youth struggle with major behavioral health issues worldwide. I believe this change in mental health and behavioral issues is the shift away from most of these kids having a proper male / father figure growing up in their lives and lack of personal

accountability & self-reliance. Loving moms are important and can do a fantastic job in raising a child alone, but if there can also be a stable male figure in their formative years to help them stay on the narrow path in life would be life changing. Unfortunately, most of these juveniles incarcerated here and elsewhere have had a gang become their family and is now the primary role-model in their upbringing. There is not one clear answer to all of this – just love your own children and train
them up in the ways of God; help and mentor the young ones around you as you can, such as the residents of the JJC facility. There are programs and ways to help minister to the juvenile residents at JJC – contact the Staff and Youth Chaplaincy members for more information on Mentoring, etc. Juvenile Justice Campus 3333 E.
