CC BIKER & MOTORSPORTS
We Are Family
Faith. Family. Brotherhood and Sisterhood. No One Gets Left Behind. You Are Not Forgotten. These are not just slogans and ideals we throw around casually or lightly, but as brothers and sisters united in one accord, these are ideals we strive to live by and die for. In our tightknit communities within the numerous biker kingdoms, both Christian and secular, many similarities and common ideals co-exist amongst our tribal family groups, clubs and organizations we faithfully represent. Within our collective chapter groups around the world, there exists an unbreakable bond, a cohesive camaraderie that develops over time as we travel together, navigating the twisting roads, and spending quality time developing our kindred friendships. We all have a common bond and thread running throughout our biking groups, regardless of whether representing a one, two, or three patch, or nomad rockers. We have high regard in caring for our fellow brethren, loyal to the sanctity of our common biking interests, and respectful of our honor systems we represent individually and collectively within our ranks.
In our Sword & Shield Riders Chapter (Clovis, CA) of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, our vision for our chapter group runs parallel to these biker ideals with a Christian evangelism emphasis. CMA is a worldwide Motorcycle Ministry Outreach dedicated to reaching people for Jesus Christ in the highways and byways through the avenue of motorcycling. CMA is helping change the world, one heart at a time, through purposeful motorcycle group evangelism, fellowship, and discipleship efforts. Our Clovis Chapter is very active in many aspects within the world of motorcycle ministries, building & strengthening relationships within our core group as we reach out to help and pray for those in need.
Some of our many CMA ministry efforts include, but are not limited to the following: offering prayer and spiritual support as needed; participate in regular organized motorcycle rides; host / assist in fund raisers within the community; host / assist in ministry outreaches (jail, prison, toy bear runs, bike blessings, etc.); hospital visitations; veterans rights supporters; group riders for funeral processions &

My Pegtopia World
by Kat
Valentine’s Day can be stressful and costly; also, materialistic items fade or diminish through time. Two years ago, I got the best valentine gift ever. I received a gift from my boyfriend that had everything I liked and/or loved in it. The gift he gave me didn’t cost a cent. My boyfriend is into PC gaming. He tried to show me how to play Minecraft, but I couldn’t get the hang of it. I woke up on Valentine’s Day and my boyfriend had my gift pulled up on his big screen tv. My gift was Pegtopia. He had continued to play, and he created a world for me, named Pegtopia. My world is beautiful with lots of pink and purple colors throughout, my favorite colors. It also had lots of sparkles and glitter like creations in it that I love. He put in a lot of time and effort into building my world. It made me see how well he knew me, how he knew things about me that I didn’t even know he knew. He had caves that led down to even more beautifully created environments. Some had waterfalls, some had lava, and some had both. There were animals too. One of my favorite things is the train he made. It went around my world to all the different buildings and nature like wonders he made. You can also ride to my castle like a mansion.
This gift means so much to me. He put in many hours to build my world, a couple of hours at a time for seven weeks. All done secretly so I would be surprised, and I was very surprised. His love showed through in this beautiful creation. This was the best Valentine’s Day gift I’ve ever received. It isn’t about money to me because time and effort are priceless. As with LOVE.
MORE THAN JUST HEARST CASTLE: CAMBRIA AND SAN SIMEON
Kelli Morgan-Langley WRITER
When you mention Cambria or San Simeon on the Central Coast, the first thing most people think is “Hearst Castle”. But there is so much more to this quaint little town than just that: beaches that call out to be walked along, shopping in unique little locally-owned shops, art galleries, camping, wine tasting, and exploring this beachfront heaven.
Every year Cambria hosts such events as the Cambria Art and Wine Festival, the Cambria Chili Cook-Off & Classic Car Show, the Cambria Western Dance Jamboree, the Cambria Business Showcase and the Cambria Festival of the Trees. San Simeon hosts a “Whale Trail Self-Guided Tour” January through February where visitors can hike on the bluffs overlooking the ocean and spot the migrating whales.
There are many art galleries in the area which feature work from both local and nationally recognized artists, and there are at least a dozen wine-tasting and even a few beer-tasting venues in the area. Cambria seems a little more upscale and cultured than its neighbors such a Pismo and Cayucos, but everybody needs a little culture in their
life, right? The Black Cat Bistro and the Fireside Lounge at the Cambria Pines Lodge are two places where you can dress up and occasionally catch a glimpse of some of the many celebrities who frequent Cambria. These two establishments feel more like the Bay Area than the central coast. For a more casual experience, the Cambria Café and Boni’s Tacos serve great food, and the 927 Beer Company MicroBrewery and Tap Room offers the best of craft beers in the area.
San Simeon is more relaxed than it’s neighbor, with the Big Sur California Café and the Sunset Grill offering the best of California seafood and burgers. There are dozens of trails to explore and beaches to play on, and the Big Sur Scenic By-way is a great one-day ride along the coast. There are two campgrounds located in San Simeon, with camping from right along the coastline to farther up in the pines, and both San Simeon and Cambria offer several hotels,
from basic to luxurious, if an overnight trip is what you’re looking for.
One of the most interesting places to see in the area is Moonstone Beach, which features a one-mile boardwalk and several pools with rocks of various colors to spark your imagination. These towns are often less crowded than the other beachfront towns along the coast, so you can relax and not worry so much about dealing with the crowds.
And of course, if you have the time, you’ve got to visit Hearst Castle. There are guided tours daily, featuring different parts of the castle and the grounds, and the gardens are open for visitors who just prefer to relax in the atmosphere of a real “castle” in our little area. So the next time you’re looking for a nice ride, and a fancy dress-up or go grungy dinner, and the ocean breezes, check out San Simeon and Cambria. There’s a lot more to these towns than just Hearst Castle!

After the Accident…
Kelli Morgan-Langley WRITER
We all hope it never happens, but we all know that, sooner or later, someone is going to cut you off, run a stop sign in front of you, or run you off the road, usually with the excuse, “I didn’t see you….” Most of these encounters are nearmisses that leave us shaken but basically okay physically, luckily. But it seems like lately accidents involving motorists and motorcycles are becoming more and more common, and it’s usually the biker who gets blamed. So what do you do if you’re in an accident?
First of all, make sure you’re all right…even a little spill can lead to big injuries. Take a minute to breathe and see if anything hurts or if you need medical attention. Remember, you’re probably going to be a lot sorer the next day, so make sure you note any and all injuries, no matter how minor, so you can pass this information along to the doctor when you go.
Secondly, start gathering information from the other driver and any witnesses. Get the driver’s license number, insurance information, and photos of both the vehicle that hit you or caused the accident as well as your bike. Especially important is to get the names and phone numbers of any witnesses who actually saw the accident. Their statements could make the difference between you being blamed and unable to obtain a settlement and you getting the other person to pay for your injuries and damages to your bike.
Then call the police, especially if anyone is hurt or there is damage to any of the vehicles involved. Make sure you ask for a police report and not an incident report, as there is much more information in an actual police report than can help you. The police should detail damages to either vehicle, any injuries from any of
the involved parties, and the names, addresses and phone numbers of all those involved as well as witnesses.
Take photos! Of everything: your bike, the other vehicle, road conditions, anything that can be vital to explaining how the accident happened. Make notes on your immediate impression of how fast the other driver was going, the weather, the time of day, etc….This information can be invaluable if you have to get a lawyer.
Don’t give a statement to anyone or admit any guilt. Be polite and cordial, but don’t give any details of the accident to the other party, don’t discuss the accident with anyone except the police, and even then, just give them the basic details.
The next day, if you have any residual pain or are still sore, go see your doctor just in case your injuries are a little more serious than you think. Often
some chiropractic work is needed to get you back where you belong. Write down any symptoms of pain, no matter how small, so you can refer back to it later. Make sure you tell your doctor everything, and document his/her response. Ask if you need to be referred to a chiropractor or physical therapist. And finally….
Get a lawyer. Many attorneys work accident cases on a contingency fee, which means if you don’t collect you owe him/her nothing. Many also do free consultations. You are almost 99% guaranteed to get more money from a case handled by an attorney than you world if you tried to deal with the insurance company on your own.
So there you have it! Let’s hope that it never happens, but if it does, be prepared. Stay safe and happy riding!!!
