Our ORGANIZATION is efficiency driven and 100% busine The network of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in France is organized on a local, regional and national level. Each local Chamber of Commerce and Industry has the unique status of being simultaneously a public agency, a democratic institution and a service company. The French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry serves the interests of 71,000 businesses in the Alpes Maritimes.
STATUS
Triple jurisdiction
n Public agency The activities of Chambers of Commerce and Industry come under the administrative control of the government (Ministries of Industry, Economy, Finance, Transport and Education). Chambers of Commerce and Industry retain autonomy in terms of accounting and finance but their budgets and accounts are subject to ministerial approval.
n Democratic institution A Chamber of Commerce and Industry is administered by an assembly of elected representatives of local business leaders. These elected representatives appoint the executive board and its president.
n Service company A Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides services in four main areas: support for businesses through individualized or group services, promotion of local economic activity, management and development of major facilities for the local economy, and training and learning. Business leaders representing the economic fabric of the French Riviera
n The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organized around a plenary assembly made up of local business leaders elected by their peers within the framework of an electoral procedure, for a five-year term of office. The assembly comprises 56 elected members, 28 associated members representing socio-professional organizations, and 43 technical advisors as heads of services outside the government. Twelve of the 56 elected members also sit at a regional level.
n The assembly elects a board, the executive body which establishes the policy of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and formulates recommendations relating to political and strategic propositions presented during the general assembly. The board’s general mission is to monitor the activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a whole. Elected members and staff also make up institutional and sectoral committees as well as work groups.. STAFF

n The French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s staff of 428 implements the policies established by the assembly in the four main areas of service provided by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The mission of the staff comes under the guidance of a steering committee.

MISSION : to serve businesses and the public interest The activities of the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry revolve around four main missions carried out by its teams of specialists and support teams. MISSION 1
Listening to and representing businesses
As a democratic institution, the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry represents its local businesses and retailers. In this respect, it takes a stance in all the major projects in its area, ensuring the voice of businesses is heard by public authorities and sitting on more than 400 organizations relating to businesses and economic development. Providing business services, fostering competitiveness
By deploying a wide range of group or individually targeted services, the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports businesses throughout their life cycle. It provides services in the development of innovation, improvement of performance, international revitalization as well as specific programs on the environment, energy management, sustainable development and so on. The French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry plays a direct role in promoting and strengthening local industry and commerce, particularly by taking part in revitalization projects, creating meetings, events and promoting networks of Riviera professionals. It also aims to help businesses cope with major economic and market changes.
To enhance the competitiveness of both businesses and the economy as a whole, the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry manages major facilities which are essential for the development and attractiveness of the area. These facilities include four Riviera ports (Cannes, Golfe-Juan, Nice and Villefranche) which the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry manages under concession, and the Logistics Business Park (PAL). The French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also involved in the management of airports on the Riviera and retains a 25% stake in the airport company, after more than 50 years of operational management of Nice Côte d’Azur International airport. The French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s economic observatory provides data and economic analysis of the local area. Other tools used are the Real Estate Observatory, the French Riviera housing guide for workers, the observatory of business parks and industrial areas. MISSION 3

Promoting and supporting local economic activity
Through its role in vocational, initial and ongoing training, learning, and professional development, the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry contributes to the development of skills and promotes local employment. It operates directly in these areas by managing a number of training establishments: the Institute of Automotive Training, the Institute of Aviation Training, the Institute of Pharmacy and Health Training, INB Côte d'Azur (yachting activities training) Negoventis (sales training), the International School of Nice, Professional skills support center, and Point A, dedicated to informing the public and businesses about learning through apprenticeships. This mission is included in the major Regional Leaning Campus project backed by the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its partners. The role of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to act to create conditions conducive to economic development and to increase the competitiveness of companies. This concerns, in particular, issues of housing for workers, retail planning, transport infrastructure, creating business parks and industrial areas, as well as projects concerning the control of energy resources and industrial waste management.
Finally, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry contributes to the attractiveness of the Riviera as a tourist destination, through, for example, the French Riviera Cruise Club, or attracting investment from companies establishing offices on the Riviera, through Team Côte d'Azur, the investment promotion agency of which the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry was a founding member. 8

FRENCH RIVIERA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY’S AREAS OF ExPERTISE
Three major areas of expertise: support & monitoring, training, and management & development n The Chamber of commerce and Industry core business – providing services to companies and to the local area. Company services cover all aspects of a company’s development and life cycle (start up, innovation, internationalization, handover/takeover).
They anticipates companies’ needs by setting up training programs and individual and group coaching sessions, and contribute towards the development and coordination of
industrial sectors and projects, for example, that of the Silver Economy market. Activities serving the local area include economic observations, urban planning and sustainable development. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry also serves the interests of local economic stakeholders by facilitating a number of business networks and online communities via its Ecobiz collaborative platform, and participates in the promotion of the local area through Team Côte d’Azur, its investment promotion agency.
n Through its vocational training activities and institutions the French Riviera Chamber of commerce and Industry helps strengthen the performance of local businesses by improving the skills of their employees. The implementation of specific vocational training programs also helps enhance the attractiveness of the area. The range of training solutions offered highlights the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s position as a key player and reflects its experience in supporting businesses and providing guidance for young people. Every year some 7,000 companies and more than 5,000 students and trainees place their trust in the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is part of the first regional training network, created by the seven Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the PACA region, offering a total of 1000 training courses and services via an Internet portal.
n As the operational manager of the four ports of the French Riviera, the Chamber of commerce and Industry is involved in developing some of the major infrastructural facilities of the local area and its economy. The four Riviera ports are public ports managed by the CCI under concession from the state and under the authority of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes. The CCI’s mission is to contribute to the economic development of maritime, nautical and port sectors through the effective management of the facilities and its recognized added value. The CCI’s model of port management and local development is based on a framework of sustainable development, including technological innovation, traffic regulation, dialogue with stakeholders, client services, and management of environmental impact. The ports also play a key role in boosting the dynamism of various economic sectors.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is present at the heart of each of the major economic areas of the Riviera, in line with their specific needs and expectations as well as those of their companies. It provides companies with solutions and services from seven local sites - Nice, Cannes, Sophia Antipolis, Antibes, Grasse, Menton, and from Eco Valley in the Plaine du Var. This local presence is further reinforced by the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s mobile task force which covers areas where there is no local office. Each of the members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s assembly also represents an important point of contact for Riviera businesses.

Examples of major investments made under a 5-year plan n IFAERO flight simulator: €1.2 M
An investment in operation since 2014, funded entirely by the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry, placing the Flight Training Center of the Institute for Aviation Training as the European leader for the training of professional pilots to European Aviation Safety Agency standards. n Regional Learning Campus: €85 M
with participation from the State (€ 14 M), the PACA Regional Council (€ 24.4 M). The feasibility study for the creation of the campus is being co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. The 24,000 m² campus set in the heart of the Eco Valley and the Nice Côte d’A zur Metropolis will open its doors in 2018. n Port facilities: €105 M
The four ports managed by the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry generate an economic impact for the Alpes Maritimes of €250 M. Investments are constantly being made to improve services for port customers: car parks, pontoons, access, renovation of sea walls, environmental protection systems, cruise passenger relations, and coastal services ... 16
