Welcome back, to what will be another great year for the CCMB, and welcome to the new members joining us for the first time. I would like to thank the outgoing 2013 committee, and club members for all the support you have given me whilst I have been in the prestigious presidential role. It has been a lot of fun and laughs, and I am sure the club will continue to prosper with Ron and the new 2014 committee. Our first roll up for the year wasn’t a huge one, but I am sure we will only grow in numbers as the year progresses. Gathering at the Shark Tower it wasn’t looking very exciting at all, lumpy bumpy swell, with a light North Easter and a dropping tide. All eyes were firmly fixed on North Avoca as our choice of venue, and then as the Copa contingent arrived en-mass, some valuable Intel was shared. There was a bank near the lake that should be explored and it certainly would be a lot smoother with the North Easter on it.

Off the convoy set to Copa, it must have looked like a VW convention, with at least half of the vehicles being the trusty German vans. Well the Intel was spot on, as we were greeted with nice peeling 2–3ft left and rights assisted with a cross-shore breeze. With the sun beaming down on us, and all the tents setup, we were in for yet another great day. The first few heats relished the conditions with some great performances. The latter first round heats had a stronger wind

presso report

2014 promises to be another great year for the CCMB, and we are already busy, getting the Magoo cranked up. To all the club members, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for nominating me as president of the CCMB. I am honored and privileged to take over the reins from Geoff, and would like to thank him for his 4 years in the job and 12 years on the committee. I would also like to welcome our new members to the club, and hope we can pick up a few more, so if you happen to be surfing with someone on a mal don’t forget to mention the club. 2014 promises to be another great year for the CCMB, and we are already busy, getting the Magoo cranked up. We need assistance in the sponsorship area so come and have a chat next club day if you can help in any way. See you all at Lakes this Sunday the 9th of March Ron
