The small conditions allowed for a great “lambent” (can’t get that word out of my head) surfing style with, I think, the most nose rides (including fives and one or two tens) that I’ve seen on any club day. Well done to all and the usual great entertainment. BBQ time and I don’t think we’ve ever had so many Gumby nominations on the one day. Four I believe! As usual I lost track of the who, where and why (it did get pretty confusing!), with even a very late fifth entry from someone called “Anon”! Under a pretty obscure unwritten club rule,

Review: Keep an eye out for “Chapters Surf Movie”. I caught this on Fox so am hoping it may be available elsewhere. There’s some great footage of progressive (modern) and traditional (real!) longboarding from some of the best of the past 5-10 years. Personally, I’m going to look for the soundtrack, I believe it’s one of the best that I’ve heard in a surf movie/ doco with every tune seeming to blend with the moment and the featured surfer. A couple of important things to ponder: How is it that we put a man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to
this, of course was never going to be accepted as once the Green One is presented the decision cannot be altered. ed’s rave Another classic day on the beach for the September club round. Huey has certainly kept his eye on us for 2013, again serving up very nice contestable waves. We had another impressive rollup with everyone enjoying the waves on offer, even Sojo made it all the way up to Lakes, although he did mention border security at the entrance bridge held him up a little, when he had to produce his passport and reason for travel. The bank just north of the clubhouse turned

on some really nice 2–3ft lefts and rights throughout the day. The wind shifted a little further to the south for the second rounds, but it really didn’t impact on the wave quality, with plenty of great rides scored. This month marks the end of our scoring club year, all numbers will then be locked in the vault and marked not to be opened till the December presentation night. This night is not to be missed, always a lot of fun and a good wrap up to the year. So lock it into your calendars for Saturday the 7th of December, all details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
We are very fortunate to have a fantastic new sponsor involved with the club. Beachin Surf, at Toukley. So head up to their store at Main rd Toukley for all your surfing needs. They have a great array of accessories and an excellent selection of boards,

That’s a wrap for this month, see you all at Avoca shark Tower 7.00am sharp this Sunday the 13th of October. The Prez
