BIG ONE This is professional sports and the only thing that matters is winning championships, besides getting paid of course. This is especially true for the national Football League. so, the question must be asked. can Tony romo win a super Bowl for Dallas? he absolutely can. he has the skills and the ability, but just like every other quarterback, he needs the right tools around him.

et me just jump right in and start on this romo wagon. now, i don’t know if it is a bang wagon or just a wagon. i have ran into too many fans that say that romo is trash. But, the only thng they have to back it up is he dosen’t when the big games. Well let’s break down the big games. i don’t count seatle in 2006 because romo took over for Bledsoe after 6 games into the season and he had never started a game or even played a regualar season game in the nFL. although he still managed to take on the challenge of keeping the cowboys in the playoff hunt. romo had 2,903 total season passing yards with a quarterback rating of 95.1, and 19 touchdowns. in 2007 the cowboys went 13 and 3 with a new coach Wade Phillips and a new offensive coordinator Jason garrett. romo passed for 4211 yards and 46 touchdowns in his first complet season. They did wind up losing in the playoffs to the giants who went on to become super Bowl champs that year, but the cowboys defence gave up 21 points. in 2008 the cowboys went 9-7 and did not make the playoffs. Tony romo did manage to throw for 3448

yards and 26 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions. That year the whole team was bad. in 2009 they went 115 and romo passed for 4483 yards with 26 touchdowns and only 9 interceptions. The cowboys beat Philly in the Wild card game and got killed 34-3 against minnesota. That was not romo’s fault. nobody played good. in 2010 For the first time in Dallas cowboys history, a coaching change was made during the season. Wade Phillips was relieved of his duties on nov.8 and Jason garrett was named interim head coach. under garrett, Dallas finished the season 5-3 after starting it 1-6. romo only played 6 games that season and the cowboys finished the season 6-10. Last year the cowboys missed the playoffs because the giants just kicked ther butts. romo did manage to throw for 4184 yards 31 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions. i say all of that just to say if you going to get on anything about the cowboys, start with the defence that gives is up everytime something is on the line. ask them to stop a third down every once in a while, or get a turnover..... i’m just saying. T

he san Francisco giants needed 10 innings and another clutch hit from marco scutaro to capture their second World series title in three years with a 4-3 game 4 victory over the Detroit Tigers. scutaro, the nLcs mVP, hit a two-out humpback liner off Phil coke in the 10th that bounced in front of center fielder austin Jackson and knocked in ryan Theriot from second to break the 3-3 deadlock. sergio romo fanned the top of Detroit's lineup in succession to finish off the sudden sweep of the american League champs and

give the franchise its seventh World series crown. The giants ended a 56-year World series drought by winning it all in 2010, and completed this year's run by staving off six elimination games and winning their final seven contests. The giants trailed the cincinnati reds, 2-0, in the nLDs and claimed the nL pennant after going down 3-1 to the defending-champion st. Louis cardinals. "We fought through 162 games. We fought in the last two series," said Pablo sandoval, who batted .500 (8-for-16) in the World series, belted three home runs in the opener and was voted mVP. "it's a beautiful group we have here." While sandoval and scutaro sparked the club offensively, it was the giants' pitching staff that carried the load, including back-to-back shutouts in games 2 and 3 against a Tigers team that had only been blanked twice during the regular season. miguel cabrera hit a two-run homer in the third inning to give Detroit its first lead of the series, but romo froze the Triple crown winner on a 2-2 fastball with two outs in the ninth to close out another dominating pitching performance. "There were no bad breaks, no flukes," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said after the tough exit. "They beat us and they earned it." coke (0-1) struck out the side in the ninth and stayed in for the 10th, which began with Theriot singling to right field. Theriot, who had not started the entire postseason but was penciled in as the designated hitter, moved to second on Brandon crawford's textbook sacrifice bunt. angel Pagan went down swinging before scutaro came through with the game- winning hit -- the midseason acquisition's 21st of the

playoffs. Both starters gave up three runs in quality outings, with san Francisco's matt cain going seven strong frames and max scherzer lasting 6 1/3 innings. cain gave up home runs to cabrera and Delmon young, while Buster Posey took scherzer deep in the sixth. santiago casilla (1-0) earned the win behind cain by getting the final out in the ninth. casilla took over for Jeremy affeldt with two outs and plunked omar infante on the left hand before getting gerald Laird on a fielder's choice groundout. san Francisco took an early lead in its half of the second when hunter Pence hit a ground-rule double and raced home on Brandon Belt's triple to right field. scherzer retired gregor Blanco and Theriot to keep Belt from scoring, then got Posey on a flyout to center to leave runners on the corners an inning later. Detroit had not scored since the ninth inning of the opener, and the giants had not trailed since losing game 4 of the nL championship series to the cardinals, a span of 56 straight innings -- four shy of tying the record for a single postseason. Both teams had their leadoff hitters reach on walks in the eighth inning, only to come away empty. Dotel shook off his free pass to scutaro by getting sandoval to ground out to first. scutaro was caught off the bag and was tagged out in a rundown. affeldt, after walking pinch-hitter avisail garcia, struck out cabrera, Prince Fielder and young in order to keep it tied. "We were feeling pretty good when we got in that situation, when garcia got the walk," Leyland said. "But affeldt really pitched tough, made some nasty pitches." Jhonny Peralta hit his second deep fly ball of the game in the ninth, with Pagan tracking it down at the warning track. Peralta came up several feet short of clearing the left-field wall in the sixth as well. game Notes Twenty-one of the 24 teams that have held a 30 lead in the World series have completed their sweeps ... sandoval finished with 24 hits this postseason, one shy of the all-time record set by three players ... romo became the seventh player to record at least three saves in a single Fall classic ... The giants went 10-1 this postseason when scoring first ... cain was trying to become the third pitcher in mLB history to earn a victory in three clinchers in a single postseason ... The 2004 Boston red sox hold the single-postseason record with 60 consecutive innings without trailing ... cabrera has reached base safely in all 24 of his postseason games with Detroit ... it was revealed after the game that infante broke his left hand ... The Tigers, who have lost seven straight World series games, became the third team to sweep their opponents in the League championship series and then get swept in the Fall classic.

and neither did anybody else, apparently because the culture of doping was so pervasive during armstrong’s career that the international cycling union feels it would be absurd to hunt through the fields of seven races until they could find a clean rider who hadn’t quit on a hill somewhere in the alps. Joe Paterno presided over more Division i wins than any other football coach. no he didn’t. That’s because the Penn state program that had been held up as a paragon of virtue for decades turned out to have been home to a serial child molester, and home base to Jerry sandusky and his criminal acts even after he was no longer on the payroll. according to the ncaa’s math, that meant Penn state should vacate 112 wins between 1998 and 2011. That made alabama a distant second in terms of wins vacated by a football team. The currently very

high Tide—no. 1 in the land—has seen 29 wins expunged over four seasons. The individuals and programs previously experiencing the curious phenomenon of disappearing wins have been guilty of trespasses less well-orchestrated than armstrong’s and much less vile and felonious than what went on

at Penn state. The record of the memphis men’s basketball team over which John calipari presided in 2008 went from 38-2 to 0-1 after ncaa investigators had determined that Derrick rose’s saT scores were not on the level, but that

is only one of the most spectacularly large afterthe-fact subtractions to have been experienced by a college team. The list of coaches who’ve lost wins for various violations includes such luminaries as clem haskins, Jim o’Brien, Larry Brown, Jim calhoun, and Jim Valvano, which argues that skirting the rules has been perhaps as pervasive in college basketball as it has been in professional cycling. Whether the phenomenon of wins even more ephemeral than the authentic triumphs preserved on tarnished cups in dusty trophy cases across the land discourages you depends, of course, on you. if you were among those in the screaming throng who saw memphis win one of those 38 games in 2008, you may not choose to acknowledge that it didn’t happen. But the phenomenon of vacating games does cast doubt on one of the qualities that has always drawn at least some of the people who care about sports to their passion. games are supposed to constitute a meritocracy. one individual or one team wins, and after it happens, in the chaos of the locker room, some winner invariably says that they can’t take that away. except when they can.

DALLAS MAVERICKS Dallas' superstar Dirk nowitzki will miss the first six weeks of the nBa season, according to esPn's marc stein. mavs announce Dirk nowitzki had arthroscopic surgery Friday on right knee & will resume basketball activity "within approximately six weeks" Without nowitzki, the new signings, as well as the players left over from last season, will have to collectively step up their game. These three players in particular will have to play up to their potential and perhaps beyond. o.J. mayo mayo was brought to Dallas to be nowitzki's sidekick. he was brought to Dallas to be the second option on the offensive side of the floor. he was brought to Dallas because of his ceiling. now it's his time to shine. above anybody else on the mavericks' roster, mayo has to be the guy to raise his game, something he has failed to do since his rookie season. When he was drafted out of usc, people expected him to put up all-star numbers every year especially after watching him perform in his rookie season. When he came into the league in 2008-09, mayo started 81 games, played 38 minutes a night and scored 18.5 points per game. The year after he averaged 17.5 points while starting 82 games.

Dirk Nowitzki Injury: Players Who Must Step While Superstar Is Sidelined

since then, however, it's been a downhill tumble as he went to 11.3 points per game in 17 starts in 2010-11 and 12.6 points per game while not starting once this past season. Dallas needs mayo to play up to his rookie season's potential. That's the player Dallas needs this season and beyond if they plan on contending in the Western conference. he has the potential when given the opportunity, but it's up to him to make things happen on the floor in an advanced role, on a bigger stage in Dallas. With nowitzki on the shelf, the floor is all his. elton Brand another mark cuban free agent signing, elton Brand will step into a more advanced and possibly scrutinized role this season. That role has since expanded now that nowitzki is out for six weeks, however. Brand hasn't been the same player since averaging 20.5 points per game and grabbing 9.4 rebounds game in 2006-07. since then, he has been on a decline (for the most part) in points and rebounds. Brand averaged 11 points and 7.1 rebounds in Philadelphia last season. in what will be his 14th nBa season, Brand's game has manifested into nice a power forward who can average double figures in scoring and grab seven, eight rebounds per game. not a bad player at all, but his game will need to return to form early in the season while nowitzki is watching on the bench.

maybe a change of scenery will do him well. We'll soon find out. Vince carter maybe Vince carter will be the new Jason Terry? according to eddie sefko of The Dallas morning news, carter would relish that role. “i’m down for it,” carter said when asked if he wanted to be the new sixth man. “i’ll come in and help the team, remain verbal—i do that well. i just try to keep us going forward and not regress. When the second unit comes on the floor, they have to keep it going. i just try to do a little bit of everything to help the team.” carter will need to play that role, especially early when the team struggles to score without nowitzki—which they will on some nights more than others. carter averaged 10.1 points per game last season, a number that was fourth on the team. For the first month in nowitzki's absence, carter will need to score around 15 points per game. That number is what Terry averaged one season ago. if he wants to be the new Jason Terry, he's going to have to play like him by providing that scoring spark off the pine. Dallas' schedule isn't terrible to start the season, but it's still going to be difficult without the scoring machine for six weeks. maintaining a .500 record while nowitzki is sidelined would be ideal, and it' definitely something that is attainable. But it will only happen with a collective effort. all parties involved must raise their game to another level starting with the three players mentioned.

BUSINESS IN THE NEWS

i

t is amazing how one life could drastically change with hard work, a passion, and dedication. Three years ago, Bob salomon was just a regular family man with a wife, two kids, and a full-time job in his home state of new Jersey. These days, you can find salomon at the center of a unique movement with the commitment to making a difference. he now collaborates with some of the biggest names in sports, as he has gained the trust of the hundreds that support him. one of those names is former big league outfielder and current esPn Baseball Tonight analyst Doug glanville. The driving force behind Bob’s involvement with glanville and other big-time

athletes comes from the compelling children’s book, titled “a glove of Their own.” Together, the duo share many of the same values, beliefs, and overall determination that have helped form the basis for their success. as they now join forces, these men have only one mindset towards the future, and that is to help children. since its publication in 2008, “a glove of Their own” has received recognition and attention on a national level, with numerous accolades and supporters that include both former and current players alike. The endless list features names such as yogi Berra, Joe Torre, Tommy John, Don mattingly, Jim eisenreich, Dick Drago, eric chavez, michael cuddyer, and nelson cruz, among many others. even companies such as Louisville slugger, modell’s, rawlings, eric chavez – Brown gloves / Diego Bats, and upper Deck have joined the cause. The story and its process to stardom is certainly unique as it originally began with words and ideas placed on a computer by first-time authors Debbie moldovan and keri conkling. Both are family friends of salomon, and knew that he loved to give back and help children. add that with his love for baseball, and the two women were certain that he was the one to jumpstart the project. of the many non-profit organizations affiliated with the movement. as the winner of the Benjamin Franklin children’s Book award, it is safe to say that this story is a product of hard work and triumph, which comes from a group that although new to the game, refused to fall short of reaching their full potential. now, Bob hopes to reach even greater heights as he assembles a new team of individuals to help produce a second children’s book that will portray the true gift of athletes, which is the impact they have on children. it will unite all sports and also showcase the message of never giving up. This project involves joining forces with Doug glanville and creating another impactful cast. glanville, a native of hackensack, new Jersey, is most known for his nine-year playing career in the major leagues, most notably with the chicago cubs and Philadelphia Phillies. The outfielder entered the game with promise after the cubs made him their first round selection in 1991. he enjoyed his best season in 1999 while with the Phillies, as he finished the season with over 200 hits, batted .325, and drove in 73 runs. currently, he can be seen on esPn’s Baseball Tonight as an instudio analyst. steve sidoti can be reached through e-mail at stephen.sidoti@gmail.com.

TIGER WOODS EXPRESSES DOUBTS HE WILL EVER OVERHAUL JACK NICKLAUS'S RECORD OF 18 MAJOR TITLES

F

or 15 years Tiger Woods has owed his mystique to his imperviousness to selfdoubt, but in the quest for his elusive 15th major title he has admitted for the first time that his confidence was wavering. “absolutely,” Woods said, when asked if his belief that he would surpass Jack nicklaus’s record of 18 majors had faltered after a four-year drought, as he acknowledged that the form of world no 1 rory mcilroy had complicated his task. speaking in kuala Lumpur, where he is competing in this week’s cimB classic, Woods said: “it’s like everybody else. i’ve gone through periods where i didn’t hit it very good, didn’t putt very good. i know what i can do, but sometimes it just doesn’t come out. That’s when i’ve just got to go back and work harder. “i’ve got to get out there and do my work on the range, on the course and make that solid, so that when i get into a tournament situation it is able to come out.” Woods has proved maddeningly mercurial in 2012, winning three tournaments yet failing to add to his major haul or to claim a single point for the united states at last month’s ryder cup. The glimpses of his finest form have resurfaced, not least in his brilliant five-shot win at Bay hill, but the subsequent dominance of mcilroy has threatened the 36 year-old’s hopes of ever returning to the summit. The world’s two top-ranked players confront each other on monday in an exhibition event in Zhengzhou, china, for which Woods is earning an estimated £2.5 million. Despite the disappointments, Woods was

weaknesses into strengths. i hadn’t driven very well in a long time, but this is the best i have driven in my entire career.” The statistics would seem to support him: in driving accuracy on the Pga Tour, he has moved from 186th to 53rd, while his distance has increased by an average of almost four yards. But one could detect in Woods’s words a wistfulness at being eclipsed by mcilroy, unquestionably the golfer of the year after the ulsterman’s four victories, including a second major triumph at the usPga. “For years i was the youngest one,” Woods explained. “Throughout my time it was Phil

Pointing to a sequence of 16 different major champions until mcilroy’s glory at kiawah island, including 10 first-time winners, he said: “Look at how many guys who have won majors for their very first time – the game has got so much deeper. it’s more difficult now to win tournaments, because the equipment has nullified and brought the fields closer together. “With these big-hitting drivers, the balls don’t curve as much. guys who were once the better ball-strikers don’t have the same advantages. sometimes the cut margin was 12, 13, even 14 shots. now, generally, we have 70plus guys who are within 10 shots, so that has shrunk considerably. i have to work to become better myself, because everybody else is.” While Woods, a divorced father-of-two after being engulfed by sex scandal in 2009, maintained that nicklaus’s benchmark and sam snead’s record of 82 Pga Tour wins – he is second on 74 – were still significant, he added that his priorities had shifted. “i want to break Jack’s record and catch snead’s record,” he said. “Those are things i would love to do. But being the best father i can possibly be to my two great kids, that is no 1 in my life.”

his is professional sports and the only thing that matters is winning championships, be-sides getting paid of course. This is especially true for the national Football League. so, the question must be asked. can Tony romo win a super Bowl for Dallas? he absolutely can. he has the skills and the ability, but just like every other quarterback, he needs the right tools around him. That includes a head coach that can light a fire under his you know what, a running back that can play the majority of the season and an offensive line that can give him enough time to make something happen. now, we all know of romo's spectacular ability to do the worst possible thing at the worst possible time. certainly you can put the lion's share of blame on his shoulders, but let's look a bit deeper.

to-back division games that kept them out of the playoffs. The moral of the story is when the weight of the game or season isn't put on romo's

not so. The first question i asked was why in the hell was romo throwing so much with a 24-point lead? Literally everyone knows that you run the ball with that kind of lead. even with a 27-10 lead, you run the ball. The cowboys epic meltdown against the Lions last season. and yet, Jason garrett dialed up another pass play. it boggles the mind. it wasn't until Week 7 that Demarco murray emerged against st. Louis and had a game for the ages. after that point, romo threw four interceptions for the remainder of the season, having thrown six before that. murray played admirably the next seven games, and the cowboys went 52. in the first quarter against the giants on December 12, the former oklahoma sooner fractured his ankle and was ruled out for the season. after that, the cowboys went 1-3 and lost back-

back, the cowboys have a chance. in fact, the short comings from last season as a whole can hardly be blamed on romo. he threw for 4000-plus yards, 31 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions. Less than a decade ago, those were considered mVP-like numbers. This season has gotten off to an interesting start, to say the least. after a win for the ages at metLife stadium in the season opener against the g-men, the cowboys have gone 2-3. This year, the main reasons in the losses have been severe offensive line deficiencies, dropped passes, mind-numbing coaching decisions and clock

CAN ROMO COVER STORY

management and yes, Tony romo throwing nine interceptions in six games.

This is what a solid run game can do to take pressure off of romo. as you can see, all of those things compound to put even more on romo's shoulders, and he's proven that he simply cannot carry a team on his own. is there any quarterback that can? and before you say Tom Brady, aaron rodgers, Drew Brees or the manning brothers, think twice. is it Brady or Belichick that deserves the credit for those three super Bowl wins? Perhaps it was the stifling defense the Patriots played during that spectacular run.

he is no longer fit to be a gm in this league, and his decisions and overbearing presence continue to cost the cowboys year after year. it's time to let go of what you love Jerry, and watch it flourish. • head coach Jason garrett put the game in the hands of his defense after calling a running play on third-and-9 at carolina’s 15-yard line to set up a fourth quarter field goal, which put the cowboys ahead by two points. While some would argue the play call was conservative with 3:28 remaining in the game, the defense didn’t mind the opportunity to

is it rodgers alone, or the pieces and system around him when matt Flynn can come off the bench to play one game all season and throw six touchdowns? you don't want to give any credit to mike mccarthy?

For brother eli however, it has a lot more to do with the team and coaching around him. Put him on the Dallas cowboys, put any of the aforementioned on that roster today (excluding Peyton), and you hardly have a better chance at a title.

preserve the win. Linebacker anthony spencer said he understood garrett’s play call, comparing it to his own managing history. “Whenever i’m playing madden or whatever, whenever i’ve got an opportunity to get points, i’m going to take it,” spencer said. “so i liked it.”

This is not meant to downplay these amazing quarterbacks' abilities at all, but simply to illustrate that even the best would have a hard time being put in the situation romo is in.

unfortunately, the game has passed Jones by. NoVember 1-20, 2012

“When the coach put the responsibility on the defense to close the game, he could have tried to score a touchdown, but he didn’t,” said Demarcus Ware. “he kicked a field goal and said all right, fellas, defense, you need to go out there and close the game for us. That’s what great defenses do.” spencer went a step further. he said once the cowboys defense gets rolling, it will be one of the best in the league. The defense hadn’t played with a healthy starting front seven all year until sunday. spencer, who missed the last two games with a pectoral injury, started with Jay ratliff for the first time this year. he said after Dan Bailey’s first field goal of the fourth quarter went through the uprights, the defense only talked about one thing as they prepared to hold the lead.

They did just that, holding the Panthers scoreless after mike Tolbert’s rushing touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter. spencer’s sack on the final drive of the game put the Panthers in an unmanageable fourth-and-20 situation, which led to a failed lateral that ended the game. “We felt great about how our defense was playing and their ability to shut them down at that point in the game, and as it turned out, that’s exactly what happened,” garrett said. “They made the big stop.” garrett said his decision to run the ball in the red zone on third-and-long after an incomplete pass to Dez Bryant had nothing to do with a lack of trust in his offense and more to do with faith in his defense, which held the Panthers to two scoring drives. he said he was confident the defense “would rise up again.”

There's another, more likely reason that the cowboys haven't been successful for the better part of two decades now. his name is Jerry Jones. Before we throw him under the bus and run him over, let's not forget that his leadership, as much as anyone else, brought three super Bowls to Dallas in the 90s.

once again, the defense stopped the Panthers from reaching midfield to preserve the victory.

“it’s the same talk we’ve had in the locker room since training camp, just leaning on each other,” spencer said. “We’ve got to depend on each other.”

is it really Brees? Look at the saints record this season. Look at Drew Brees' spectacular numbers so far. still think Brees can do it on his own? actually, you can make the best case for Peyton manning. The level of consistency he displayed with the colts was amazing, and when you consider their spectacular collapse the lone season without him, the case makes it self.

WIN THE BIG ONE

The decision didn’t backfire, as the cowboys defense forced a contested incomplete pass on fourth down on carolina’s next possession. Dallas then handed the ball off four straight times to Phillip Tanner before kicking another field goal with less than a minute remaining. www.411sportsNews.com

“The biggest thing we wanted to do was preserve the opportunity to win the ball game by a touchdown or by a field goal,” garrett said. “We felt like that was a pretty decent play.”

HE SAY; SHE SAY questIoN: ladIes (& men who want to chime in): have you ever dealt with a man who's completely emotionally closed off? i.e. he's got a "wall" built up around his heart, it's hard to let people in, really noncommittal (and in denial about it), believes in the statistics about marriage and therefore goes into a relationship thinking it will eventually end always, depressed at times..... sound familiar to anyone? what do you do with a man like that? do you try to help him bust through that wall or is he a hopeless cause at the moment and that's something he's got to work through himself? he say: imo. he may need that certain someone with patience and compassion to afford him the possibility to break through his torment..... she say: Patience is probably the key word. although, i can't say i'm a very patient woman. (yes, i know that's a virtue). he say: Well in that instance two broken people can't help repair one another. she say: i'm broken if i don't have much patience? he say: i hate to be the bearer of bad news but yes! you will need to work on that flaw.. he say: “Patience is the companion of wisdom.” she say: you wouldn't want to see a woman stay in that situation for years waiting around for a man to figure out whether or not he's in love would you? she say: i have a max amount of time on my "patience factor" as a single woman. That's 2 years max. max amount of time any candidate could get to snatch me up. everybody doesn't get granted that max amount of time though he say: man or woman it's your individual choice to heal. i've attempted to play that role in the past & i discovered healing a groWn person isn't my job. next! she say: That's what i was thinking....starting to smell like a project and i've had too many "unfinished" projects like that in my dating life to not know better by now. he say: no, not years! one should be able to help reduce ones fears within months.. in this microwavable society of i want it now, we have grown accustomed to building relationships over night whereas in all reality we should be seeking to get to know one another on a much much deeper level, at that point walls that one has put up as a defense mechanism begin to crumble and you become in-tune with one another. 13 hours ago • Like • 1 she say: melanie Durham Jones andrea, i've met so many men that were "emotionally closed off" due to past relationships. maybe the times have changed but i find more baggage carrying men out here than ever before. i've tried to do the wait game but in the end, i throw in my white flag of surrender & move on. my true belief is that if he is the man for me, the relationship won't seem like an unconquerable challenge. he say: how could you possibly help heal someone when you too have some issues? she say: screw years. he say: stop whining! she say: so is 6 months long enough? and to answer your Q - aren't we all imperfect and therefore "broken"...don't we still have something to offer even in our imperfection? he say: We need to let go of the hurt, anguish and stereotyped boxes we have placed one another in.. 6 months in my opinion is not long enough to get to know someone. and although we feel as if we can offer something in our imperfect state we really can't until we resolve our own personal issues.. she say: sir, why does a woman have issues because she doesn't want to chisel a man's outer shell? That type of man , family, or friend will wear you down & out. no one is perfect but everybody isn't broken. i agree with the other lady, who has the time or energy for that. i try to be positive about all things but that negative spirit will attach itself. i would say that after the initial dating period (4 months), if there's no change, there won't be. imo he say: i would hope so. But, how long do you wait for someone to allow us to love them? some people don't mind robbing you of 5-10years of your life. she say: 6 months isn't long enough to know someone? i thought we were talking about men that were emotionally closed off. Who can't determine that before 6 months. he say: you could not begin to know someone on a seriously deeper level in less than six months, that is why i am a proponent of long term dating/courting especially at our ages 30 and older.. she say: i want to chisel you! i'm getting my big hammer out to crack you over the head. Bam, are you fixed yet? Lol he say: Well ladies after years of reflection and meditation i have become perfect!!! That is all!! she say: i certainly would not advocate wasting 5-10 years of your life or anywhere near that of wasted time. That's why i have a max limit of 2 yrs. But i've cut people off in less than a month for some Bs. she say: obviously i think he's a strong candidate, otherwise he wouldn't still be here. he's given me a little insight into his feelings so i know he cares ....he just has a really funny way i showing it. i'm used to guys being "obsessed" as Will said earlier this am....obsessed and in love, and this one requires a lot of work just to peel back layer #1. so....that's why i say, not so sure what to do with him. he say: i am very guarded and refuse to give any emotional part of myself to anyone..i was called emotionally disconnected as i tend to rationalize things logically and that is my first reaction...amazing what a woman can do with a man’s heart once its placed in her hands..... she say: he is Very logical/rational. and if he feels something it would never show on his face....anger, sadness, etc - you would never know it. a poker face like you would not believe when it comes to his personal emotions. how did you end up opening up and letting a woman have your heart?
