Greetings Dear Ones, May the spirit of giving and receiving during this holiday season bring joy to your heart. Each year around this time our message may be the same or similar to the year before. It is however note worthy to remind you that this time of year, any time of the year, but particularly this time of year is in need of the reminder that purchasing power or lack of purchasing power is not the relevant theme at this time. To give and to receive is the energetic exchange of putting issues to the side, differences to the side, to reflect on what “giving and receiving” really means for you personally. To open the heart and to give without any strings attached. To receive from the heart without any strings attached. Yes it is wise to understand that to receive a warm smile is just as important as the gift you may receive that you have been wishing for. One will carry you longer through life than the other. Things come and go but a memory lasts forever. To receive with no strings attached is to acknowledge and experience your own value deep in your core. The joy you experience is a gift from your Page 4
To give without any strings attached brings up an even deeper joy from the heart that is bestowed upon you due to the selfless act of wanting to simply enjoy someone’s joy who you just bestowed your gift upon. If we erase for one moment all the commercials and advertisement that is trying to entice you to buy, buy, and buy. The sales that try to coax you into the store for the bargains. Your specials such as black Friday where many have stood in line all night waiting for the doors to open just to get the best price, the best bargain or the limited edition. Erase it all and ask yourself what does this time of year really mean to me? During the hustle and bustle, the joy of decorating the tree, the joy of planning the meals and family gatherings and yes even the joy of being out with the crowds looking for the best deal or the right gifts….ask yourself do you go deeper and wish for peace on earth? Peace of mind, peace of heart. Do you contemplate the meaning of your happiness when you receive or give? The greatest gift you can give yourself is the awakening of the immense joy you have already within you by the simple act of giving and receiving. What ever you may have or will be purchasing this season, be it grand or
not it is the “act” not the “thing” that will shower you with joy. To give for the sake of giving, to receive for the sake of receiving is the act, the movement that evokes the heart to respond to you in the most kindest and loving way. To give with a sense of expectation, to receive with a sense of expectation you believe is placed on you, closes the door to the heart and does not allow for the gift of joy to fill you. Fill yourself with joy so that you may be joy. Fill yourself with joy by giving others joy through a simple act. Fill yourself with joy when you receive the grand gift and fill yourself with joy when a smile is given to you. Recognize the value you receive from within which is independent of the value that is being given to you. In fact I spend most of the day reading. By profession, I am a “reader”. When I go to bed, the last thoughts in my mind before I drift off to sleep are mostly concerning what I have read. If I can't sleep, I dream myself into different endings to a book I've read. I try to imagine a whole new world with the same characters and different situations. Some of the my most fond childhood memories involve the ceremony of discovering a new book, checking it out from the library, bringing it home and finding out what mysteries were to be unraveled inside.

Interestingly, I feel better … happier. Yes, I sort of know what is going on in the world, but I do know that the world is not crumbling quite as much as the news sensationalizes things.
