A recurrent issue from the current replacement’s market is the lack of quality. Thus, components durability have been reduced. It is common choosing the cheapest one, but sometimes it turns out to be more expensive. Who said that, was the components distributor, José Carlos Finardi. He yet commented: “Sometimes bad quality product’s manufacturers don’t even dispose the name of the company in the piece. That’s the case of a trinket that after revision endured only 10 thousand kilometers. The car owner couldn’t get in touch with the producer. Moreover, the number of the CNPJ had only the accountant’s number and he wasn’t allowed to give company’s contact. That was also the case of a Volkswagen Fox that appeared at Auto Style workshop. Its Thermostatic Valve’s carcass presented linking at its fixation due to deformity three months after its replacement. To avoid further problems, the chosen component was from a trustworthy brand called Iguaçu Componentes Automotivos. This manufacturer has effective products. “Comfort and technology in this vehicle are on another level. Chevrolet surprised and now other assemblers will need to catch up”, commented the 100% Motor team’s test pilot, José Carlos Finardi, about the Chevrolet Equinox.

river’s desperation is proportional to fuel cost. One increases with the other. The worst part is the lack of control over a constant price increase. Thereby, the search for miraculous homemade methods that diminish car consumption also joins the equation in order to provide more 40

control over daily expenses. An old example of such technics comes from the 70’s. It consisted in placing the point of a BIC pen in the carburetor. Thus, fuel flowing would decrease. It is a fact that the procedure limited the quantity, but it also harmed engine operation.


José Carlos Finardi, 100% Motor’s test pilot, said: “The give back was a placebo. Obviously, there was consumption reduction, but it was insignificant. It also caused misguided interpretations. Anyone who tried it, most of the time, would drive the car in a more moderated way. Some enthusiasts even used

Besides, it worked a little only in carbureted vehicles. With the injection system, more fuel is spent for engine to continue working. Finardi said: “If the car has injection system and is geared, when the driver takes his foot out of the acceleration pedal it probably has a “Cut off” function. Thus, not a single drop of fuel is injected”. 42

Still, miracles don’t stop here. It’s possible finding in the market a solution that consist in two magnets wrapped in the fuel hose. The manufacturer says it magnetizes the molecules and reduces consumption. That doesn’t mean anything. And, it is also a placebo, the person who tryed it will, most of the time, drive in a more moderated way. This product costs 250 BRL

He noticed that inside were rechargeable batteries connected in series. They were there to increase battery capacity, but that’s not what happens.

Yet, an artifice that is used a lot is the gasoline vapor generator. Here, the fuel goes to a small tank where compressed air is added. It becomes vapor and continues to the admission collector. Consumption actually reduces, the vapor counts for the Lambda Probe and it diminishes injection time in a few milliseconds. However, the main tank fuel is also used and then is a simple matter of mathematics. Both of them together means probably the same amount as conventional usage. The hydrogen method can also not be forgotten. It is used in the vehicles moved by water. It was tested by the 100% Motor team and doesn’t work. It creates a gas through electrolysis. The conclusion is that for this to happen more energy is needed. Thus, battery gets damaged, the alternator lifespan decreases and fuel consumption reduces insignificantly. There is no magical way to save fuel. It's better driving without stretching gears. Result is usually the same, sometimes even better, but it doesn’t harm the engine. The only real options are calibrated tires, no luggage, closed glasses, air-conditioning usage reduction, proper alignment, relief acceleration, a more economic car or not leaving the garage.

Mclaren released a new car called “Senna�. It is a reference and a tribute to the legendary F1 pilot, Ayrton Senna. This machine was design with one philosophy. To be a super legalized car for the road. It is assembled in a single carbon fiber and its engine is a Bi turbo V8 with 789 HP and 4.0 liters. The space for the pilot is comfortable, the chassis is based on the Mclaren 720S and it weighs only 1189 kilos. Such factor makes of it the lighter road car since the iconic F1.
